Dante's mind drifted as Meryl mumbled about how he did not know. It was fine by Dante's standards; a moment to clear his thoughts would be good. Especially with a man so odd as this one. Was it really such a good idea to be doing this? Certainly he could make new friends. Teach more. Have fun. But were Meryl's intentions truly good?
Suddenly Meryl yelled out; Dante backed up ever so slightly, both one of his eyebrows and an arm raised. For a second he stayed like that.
"Yeah. Sure." Slowly his arm slipped back to his side.
"Our bodies are the wind, watch as we soar with blurred grace."
As he chanted wind magic energy swirled around the two and Meryl grabbed Dante's arm and soared upward with his new companion. He stopped and just let them float there letting Dante adjust as if it would be the first time the mage had ever flown, atleast Meryl was treating it as such as he knew how intimidating it was for a first time flier.
"Ready to blast off buddy?" Asked Meryl with a grin on his face.
Still a bit shaken after Meryl's random outburst, Dante nearly attacked him when he grabbed his arm. He was not expecting to be in the air so quickly, or even at all. At first he had thought it was a transportation spell.
Though Dante had flown before, this was a different situation. For one, Dante never used air magic for it. It was always light magic, transformed into wings. Two, he was always in control. At that time it was Meryl controlling him.
Dante did not like the way this man did so.
He shook it off, rubbing at his beard before nodding, "Yeah." Buddy, he said. As if the ten minutes they had known each other warranted buddy. Perhaps Meryl just liked to call everyone buddy.
Meryl gave a soft whistle as he held onto Dante, he quirked at brow as if he didn't know as to why. Meryl knew that his personality made people uncomfortable and his antics sometimes annoyed others but this wasn't gonna stop him in the slightest from his teasing and jabbing and making light of things. "You're tense Buddy! Whats the matter?" Cooed Meryl before taking off rather quickly at break neck speeds while holding onto Dante, a large grin playing at Meryl's features.
They came to a sudden stop at the area where he was permitted to create his tower, he looked at Dante and then pointed to the ground. "See all that space!? Its gonna be brilliant! Simply brilliant!"

Was Meryl toying with him?! Seem tense buddy, whats the matter buddy. Buddy. He looked up to see him smirking. Dante scowled heavily. if he could just use his own damn magic to do this he wouldn't be so 'tense'. Buddy.
They came to a sudden halt, and Dante nearly lost his breath. Slightly wriggling around to try and get a little more comfortable.
"Sounds great," Dante wheased. "Can we go down now and get to work?" Meryl would certainly learn soon that Dante did not enjoy being under the control of someone elses magic.
Surely I shall use my own against him soon. See how he likes it. He washed the thought out of his head. No. That would be entirely rude.
Meryl nodded and lowered them to the ground slowly and he patted Dante on the back with a large grin on his face. "Oh you must loosen up my friend! Enjoy life and wonder!" Said Meryl with a laugh before looking around and taking off his shirt and upper robes, he rested his staff on his shoulder which he seemed to conjure from thin air.
"Ok lets get to work then, I assume you know advanced earth manipulation rune circles?" Asked MEryl adjusting his gloves as Squeeker rested himself on Dante's shoulder quietly.

He was so cocky, it was already driving Dante insane! His face flushed a slight red, but he shook it off. At least they were on the ground now. And besides, if he were to get working with this man, he had better get used to all of these remarks.
Though Dante wondered how professional this man might be in the face of potential members. Probably not so professional, seeing as how he introduced himself to Dante.
"I practice more in the way that elementals do it, but yes I am able to do it that way," Dante nodded, letting his coat slip off his shoulders and onto the ground. He pushed it to the side, rolling up his long-sleeved shirt before moving his legs slightly apart, ready to get started.
"Oh? Is that so? Glad I got a second that has some actual taste then!" Said Meryl with one final grin before an earth magic glow surrounded him, his eyes closed then he opened them slowly to show red pupils. "Lets begin." He said with a more serious tone different then he had used earlier with Dante.
"Picture the tower and grounds I showed you, let my magic lead yours. Lets reshape the entire area." Said Meryl in this new tone with slight command. "Great king who supports the most distant of lands receive us now in our time of need and grant us thy boon!" He chanted outstretching his arm and the earth shook as stone and nature begin moving and reshaping.
"Oh roar of the earth bring down the fangs of the mighty dragon!" He added on and he began swinging his arms and moving his body gracefully, the ground splitting and reconnecting. He spoke and the earth obeyed as stone raised up forming the base of a tower and plant life became lush.
This was Merlin. Completely different from the goof who teased Dante before, this was a strong and tactful magus. Cunning and commanding wasting not a move nor word each of his actions served a purpose. This was the Mages Guild Leader.

Dante raised an eyebrow slightly, curious as to Meryl's sudden change in attitude. But he did not pay attention for long, shifting his focus to the base of the tower building right in front of them. Truly the man was practiced; Dante might look a fool in front of him, knowing more elemental magic than of this. But at the very least he knew what he was doing.
Besides, if he didn't he would not have been able to help with the tower at all. Using two types of similar magic to make something? It worked if you knew what you were doing sometimes. But earth magic almost always did not when going together. The tower would have fallen apart.
He took a deep breath in, closing his eyes for a moment before exhaling and opening his eyes. His own magic filled his eyes, turning them a slight tinge of blue. He loosened his bones, extending his hands slightly in front if him, beginning to mutter words of the earth. Slowly the ground shifted, just as it did for Meryl, and he thought of the bueprints. Of the tower. How thick the walls would be, the lengths and widths of the rooms. Slowly the earth bended to his will.
He felt Meryl's magic swirl around his own as they connected to build this tower. Dante relaxed a bit more.
Their personalities and ways of thinking were near polar opposites. But their magic, however, worked as if it came fromthe same person.
It was like the perfect fit had been found, their magic medling and moving together as one. Two sides, one coin. The earth trembled and obeyed them as it moved, shifted, and spiraled upwards. The grounds were shaped and plants arranged themselves as stone was placed in the perfect structural positions. Holes and gaps were left in key areas where windows would be located which were filled with the grainy minerals of sand, the magic manipulating the earth.
Their process continued on for a good half hour before finishing, their tower standing high and grounds lush with elegant courtyards, as though it had been tended to for years and had been here since the birth of the city.
Meryl stood panting with a pleased smirk on his face, his red hues dying down to their original color as he wiped the sweat off his brow. "We are gonna need ALOT of furniture...." He finally spoke looking to Dante, Squeeker brought a pair of towels and Meryl took one to wipe his face. "How does some iced tea sound?" Asked Meryl with a yawn.
Dante stretched his numb limbs, the magic fading from his eyes as he let out a small yawn. He too gently took a towel from the small creature, eying it with a curious face.
He turned and looked at the towel, letting out a small chuckle at the furniture remark. He wondered how exactly they were going to pay for it all; but, he assumed that Meryl had a plan. He came rather prepared it seemed; after all, he created blue prints and everything.
The man dabbed at the sweat on his brow, a cool breeze whisking by them, making Dante sigh once more in relaxation.
"Iced tea sounds lovely," he spoke, rubbing at the back of his neck. "Don't suppose you have a plan on how to get all the furniture and equipment, hmm?"
"Oh if I told you, you'd probably be a little disappointed." Said Meryl stroking his chin with a smirk on his face. "I'm sure our lovely Queen will not mind when she walks into the palace and finds all its furnishings gone." Said Meryl snickering softly before recieving a small fireball to his face from the small wyvern from off to the side causing him to fall to the ground squirming. Squeeker made his approach to Dante scooting a tray with the cold drink to him.
"Ok...fine...I'll be buying it! You're no fun!" Whined Meyl flailing on the ground like a child who was told he could not play or had been grounded. "Heehehehe this is going to be great...I've already contacted some tradesmen we will have our desks and toys shortly I promise." Snickered Meryl.
Dante gave Meryl a stern, disapproving look as he snickered, before being surprised as the Wyvern shot fire at its master. Dante held in his snickering; but could not contain the smile. He took the drink and muttered a small 'thank you' to the creature, smiling down on him.
Squeeker and Dante would surely get along, it seemed.
Dante satisfyingly nodded, and took a sip from the drink; which just so happened to taste lovely, and turned to Meryl again. Truly he had transformed back to his normal self. Dante was a tad bit disappointed.
"That's good to hear."
He took another sip, before picking up his coat and throwing it over his shoulder. "I should get back to the school, I still need to grab my things before I head home. Any particular time or day you want me back here?" he asked with one eyebrow raised.
Squeeker bowed his head politely as its tail wagged with satisfaction, he moved to Meryl lightly nuzzling his masters hand which earning him a pet atop his head. Meryl shook his head softly to Dante with a gentle smile. "Nah...no time in particular. I'll probably be setting up furniture all day." He said bowing his head in thanks.
"THank you Dante, you dont know how much this means to me."
He was surprised to get such a lovely thank you from the man; in fact, Dante's eyebrows shot up in surprise. But soon his face was normal, and a smile made its way across his face.
"Yeah sure, no problem... thank you for the opportunity, Meryl." He nodded politely, beginning to walk off back towards the school, before he turned his head slightly behind, a smirk on his face.
"I better not catch you stealing undergarments from anyone!" the mage laughed.
"No promises! After all I have the beautiful young elf that just loves my collection! And all the innocent school girl mages....oh....this shall be glorious! GLORIOUS I S-OW HOT HOT HOT HOT!" Shouted Meryl squirming on the ground as Squeeker blasted him in the face again with a soft glare.
