Roland and Gabriel sat eating their lunch in the meadow. They had had a long day of training and it wasn't over yet. They had raced, wrestled, had a roaring contest, and an epic game of fetch. Gabriel had won the race and roar contest, but after a while of wrestling Roland finally found out how to best him. The fetch was more for fun. Roland would throw his spear as far as he could and Gabriel would bring it back. Speaking if Gabriel, he had grown a lot. He had started to get a mane and much stronger, the taming was becoming easier but they still had their moments.
Roland tapped the top of Gabriel's head and he looked up in response. "How bout we do a little hunting and call it a day. Remember no humans, or werewolfs. Use that nose and eyes of yours," he smiled as Gabriel jumped up and looked eager to go, "Alright alright. What shall it be, deer, fox, whatever comes first?" Gabriel didn't seem interested in any of the choices. "Well? What do you want?"
"I think he wants more of a challenge." Seth joked drawing in the meadows. He had successfully drawn Gabriel and Roland. "Come on, he's a lion. King of the Jungle, he doesn't want small game, he wants the whole catch!" Seth advised Roland. "By the way my names Seth." He smiles and says.
Roland was a little surprised by Seth. He gave Gabriel the rest of his lunch and walked over to Seth. "I think I remember you. From the meeting. I'm Roland Longfellow." he offered his hand and smiled at Seth.
Seth was surprised that Roland had such a good memory, he didn't even remember Roland was there at that meeting. He shook his hand and closed his sketchbook. "Lions are kind of lazy." Seth laughed. "The female ones usually do the hunting while the males protect the territory. If they're not hunting then they'll spend 16 to 20 hours resting. Like I said before, if he's going to hunt something he wants it to be BIG, like some sort of achievement for him." He looked around the area. "You know if we bait it, we could probably lure a dragon here." Seth idiotically says.
"I don't know if I want another dragon experience just yet." he laughed at the thought. His arm had just healed. "Your right male lions in a pride are lazy, but when they aren't they are the ones to fear." he smiled and patted Seth's shoulder. "You know a lot about a lot it seems. Wisdom is the key to success, but without the action to use it you will never unlock your potential. That's what they used to tell us back in Tetra. I didn't mean that you lacked action just remembered that is all." he looked around the meadow. "Well what big game is here?" he asked.
Seth looked puzzled at the older boy. 'What was the point of that speech...' Seth thought. He shook that thought out of his head. "Well here, we could probably find the hideous Glutton. But i have to warn you, those things will literally give you nightmares."
"Oh looks like you're lion's...." Seth was about to say finished but then saw Gabriel falling asleep. "Taking a nap, okay well basically you have to cut off the heads of it, the good news is they don't grow back, but they're 10 times more deadly than a hydra."
"They have this unique ability to launch projectiles out of it's stomach and crush you. Also despite its great size its speed is uncanny, as in you only have one second to dodge its attacks."
"You have to go really far into the meadows and down the mountain. Barely anyone's made it there though on foot. I usually just fly over the mountain." Seth said. He wasn't sure if Roland knew he was a shape-shifter.
"Wow that's an obedient lion." Seth muttered. "Okay well I guess I could go there. Are you sure you want to do this though?" He says morphing into a dragon.
"I don't see why not...expect and search out greatness and you will find it." he smiled, "And thanks, it took sooooooooo long to train him." he looked at the lion with slanted eyes, "Still has his moments" he laughs. Roland ran over and picked up his spear, attached his axe and shield to his back and sighed deeply, "I'll figure out a better, lighter way to carry all this someday!" he laughed.
Seth smiled, or gave whatever a dragon smile looked like. He took to the sky accidentally creating a big gust of wind in the process though. He flew slowly so Roland and Gabriel would be able to keep up. He began heading south, away form Avaleur to the Slums of the meadow.
The wind nearly knocked Roland over but just made him loose balance for a second. He ran to keep up with Seth. He was getting quite excited. "Alright Gabriel, we are going hunting." the lion runs a few circles, "Hey no! This one is big.....Focus, think, be strong and safe." the lion doesn't seem to understand at first but after awhile it seems to figure it out and run by Roland.
