Seth sighed as he wandered through the Forest, like he usually does most afternoons, to find a quiet spot to draw. The Forest was relatively peaceful and well lit by the sunlight. The grass was tall and green and large, fully bloomed trees towered over the landscape. "Ah the gods hate me." He muttered to himself. "Most people lose their homework or quills, No i manage to lose my entire city map!"
Being just outside of Avaleur he knew it was somewhat safe, but he was cautious to not to try and provoke an animal attack since he was completely unarmed. As he sat down next to a tree he thought more and more about the dark haired girl he saw at school. She looked close to his age and seemed very pretty but he stopped when he remembered he didn't even get her name. He begin drawing with the quill and paper he brought with him and stopped when he heard a noise within the forest.

Dante frowned, walking through the forest quietly. He was always looking for magical creatures in the forest, but he could never find any. In the 18 years that he had lived in Avaleur, he had never spotted any creatures or beasts outside the city. Some people would call him lucky. Dante thought the opposite.
"This sucks..." Dante grumbled, sitting down against a mossy rock. He would give anything to even see a beast out here, even if he died moments after seeing it.
Closing his eyes, he listened to the forest for any trace of life.
Seth began to worry. Back in his old country forest raids happened often and the victims always suffered the worse fate. Putting his quill and paper down he decided that he should find whatever it was before it found him. Seth stepped back and shifted into a large lion like creature thinking to himself, "This ought to drive off my attacker." Then he started heading towards where the sound came from.

Dante opened his eyes. He had heard footsteps not too far from where he was. He grew excited. Will this be the day? he thought, grinning. He slowly and quietly stood up, trying not to make any noise. He hid behind a tree, and peeked his head to look in the direction the footsteps had come from.
"Aha!" Seth thought to himself when he saw a figure looking from the behind the trees. "Trying to get the drop on me huh? Well try this!" Seth lept out from the darkness of the trees and roared as loudly as he could to try and scare it off.

"OH MY GOD!!!" Dante yelled, throwing a spell onto the lion. The spell froze the lions feet to the forest floor, making it impossible to move. Dante tripped over backwards, and fell down. He looked at the lion, wide eyed.
"I was hoping to see a m-magical creature that could kill me, not a normal creature that could kill me..." he pouted, taking in rapid breaths, "whats the point in that?!"
Seth panicked as he was completely immobilized and defenseless. Trying to break free from the ice without success.
Hearing his comments Seth thought, "He wants magical? I'll give him Magical." Shifting into a dragon just large enough to get his hands free he blew a small fireball at the man.

Dante rolled to the side, dodging the flames. A shapeshifter? he thought, pressing his back up against the tree. Why would they be trying to hurt me..?
Taking a deep breath, Dante jumped out from behind the tree, throwing a water spell at the fire being thrown at him, dowsing it.
"Why are you attacking me?!" Dante spat, growing in temper, bringing himself to a defensive stance.
Seth was startled by the guy's words. "What!?" He thought to himself as he shifted back to normal. "Me attack you? You attacked me!" He said intimidated by the older teen's magic abilities. "Well..uh..don't make any sudden moves uh..or else." He said trying to act tough putting his fists up in a clearly off balanced stance.
Dante raised an eyebrow, looking the younger boy up and down. "You startled me, making me think you were a wild animal. I froze you to the ground, causing you no harm. You threw fire at me. Therefore, you attacked me." he said calmly, standing up straight and crossing his arms.
"And what are you going to do to me that would be oh-so-terrible that I could not fight back?" Dante smiled, running a hand through his hair.
"Well I uh.." Seth hesitated caught off gaurd by the older boy's reply.
"Well I may not look it but.. i'm a ten year Magic veteran." He says lying through his teeth. "And I'll uh.." He says looking around the forest. "Beat you so bad they'll have to use the sticks here to put you back together." He says again trying to sound tough but the look of fear is all over his face.

He could see the fear scetched onto his face. He clearly had to be lying. "Well then," Dante smiled, "That's interesting. I have been studying magic for 10 years." Dante yawned, checking his nails before looking back at the boy.
"If what you're saying is true, we match equally in power. Lets see who's body will have to be put back together." he finished. He stood tall, hands in fists at his side. This boy did not intimidate him in the least. Dante was just trying to scare him with his words.
"But clearly this whole thing has just been a big misunderstanding. Why fight?" Dante smiled, shrugging. Whether the boy would choose to talk it out, or fight, he had no clue.
"Eep!" Seth gasped to himself after realizing he is in the presence of a real magic user and in a battle ready stance. Seeing how laid back and relaxed he was Seth knew clearly that if he fought it would be a battle he would surely lose no matter what he changed into.
"S-Sorry." Seth said embarrassed scratching the back of his head. "I th-thought you were a forest raider or a hunter." He said still a bit fearful from the older boy's reply.
"My names Seth." He extended out his arm for a handshake with a scared smile on his face.

Dante, a satisfied smile on his face, took Seth's hand. "I'm Dante. You must be pretty brave, Seth." Dante said, "Looking to find someone who could have harmed you."
"Well what are you doing out here? Don't you know there's dangerous beast and animals out?" He looked around. "What if a pack of Wind-Wolves just attacked right now?"

"Then I'd die happy! If I just saw one, ONE magical creature out here, my life would be made. Most people try avoiding seeing them, and see them anyways, while I've spent my whole life looking for them, and havent seen a thing." Dante huffed, running a hand through his hair.
"So, basically, I'm out here to look at wild magical creatures." he said simply, smiling at Seth.
Seth stared wide-eyed at Dante. "Wait you want to see a dangerous magical creature!? Why not see something small and harmless like a Ferracoon?" He says holding up his hand as if to measure the size of it.
"But an ice spell won't stop an angry giant two-headed fire ant with a pack of angry little antlets." He says imitating as if he were the ant. "And what about the raiders? They'll come out of the dark and attack you until." He says shifting into a fox and playing dead.

"Then I douse the ant with a water spell." Dante frowned. "And I am highly skilled at using spells...I could easily defeat raiders. I have nothing to fear."
"So tell me, why are you here. If its so dangerous that I should come here, why did you?" Dante smiled.
