Rio had been training intensely recently, leaving no time for rest. Her technique was improving rapidly and she did not want to stop.
She clasped her hands together one last time, yelling as loud as she could. " Exuro hostis BUTIO DISPLODO!" Quickly, a large explosion erupted just infront of her, wiping out an old tree completely. Nothing was left but the stump and much dust. Rio grinned to herself.
She fell down on her bottom, she was exhausted now, her body was covered in mud and filth and her hands were bloody. She had been out for many hours and could barely stand more. She'd rest now, but only for a few moments.
Erika stood back straight against a tree. She had heard explosions while walking threw the woods. She was scared to death so she hide against a tree.
Finally they seemed to stop so she slowly persuaded herself to investigate. She ran from tree to tree and looked around careful not to be seen by whatever it was.
Rio couldn't help but laugh at the sight of someone being so scared and cautious due to her magic. She tried to lean up against the tree. Her body hurt badly.
She snapped her fingers together, creating a small spark of fire, it didn't last long but it let the scared girl know she wasn't alone.
Erika saw the spark and jumped a little. She expected an explosion to follow. She shook her head thinking, 'come on Erika. You can't be scared like this. Deep breath and have some courage. You are suppose to be a queen.' she silently scolded herself. She took a deep breath and rested her hand on her sword hilt just in case. She walked out into the open ready to protect herself with magic if need be. She was still nervously shaking a little.
Erika felt slightly relieved when she found out it was an actual person and not some dangerous, ferocious beast. Although she was relieved she had learned now not to let her guard down. Whoever it was could still hurt her. "Well, wouldn't you be a little frightened if you were on a walk and things started blowing up everywhere?"
"If I was scared so easily, I wouldn't venture into the forest. You should be more prepared, I could have killed you before you even knew what was happening. Not that I would, just that I could." Rios voice was loud, but tired and scratchy.
Erika huffed, "Sorry I guess when I prepare myself to walk through a forest I don't things are going to be blowing up. Must have missed that one on my list." she kept walking and spotted Rio, "And you don't look or sound like you could have killed me, not without me knowing what was happening at least."
Rio sat up, groaning a bit to herself. "Wanna know the best part? I wouldn't have to physically touch you. I'd look at you, chant, and you'd explode with the earth underneath your feet."
Rio shrugged. " I'm not into killing though. At least, not without reason."
"Magic eh? Well then the surprise would have got me. I'll admit it." she looked Rio over more as she got closer, "Hey, um... You okay?" she asked noticing the blood and scratches.
"Yeah, it's nothing." Rio lied, she couldn't even stand, but she wouldn't let it stop her. "Just some intense training. Besides, what are you doing out in the forest all alone? It's dangerous."
"Well.... I... There's no reason." she changes her mind on telling her. "You know what, I bet you are just trying to keep up this intense training thing. Come on now, I bet you are so exhausted the reason you are still up against that tree is cause you can't stand."
Rio laughed. " Why stop now? I've got this wonderful collection of new scars. Tell me, don't you have any scars?" she asked, she was changing the subject, but she was interested in the answer.
"Yes I have plenty of those. Too many to count really." she looked at her toes before looking up again. "At least let me heal some of your wounds so you can continue to train. Trust me I understand the training thing."
She rolled her eyes a little. Fighters were all the same. She placed her finger on Rio's forehead and wrist. Her hand began to glow a light blue and as the color faded from her fingers they entered Rio. The blue at the wrist began to spread throughout her body in her veins. As the blue passed different areas they began to heal until it faded back into the finger on her forehead.
