"Of all thee' lousy no good louts'..." Steele said scratching the back of his head puzzled as to what just happened. He'd hoped to have a chat with Kavanah but that just wasn't going to happen. He didn't like Dadramora at all, he didn't have a good feeling about him. And Steele also went on his instincts, he wasn't about to let Kavanah fly off with a complete stranger. He watched closely to the direction they were heading. When it would become night, he would track them.
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
It seemed like the two flew for awhile before getting to the mountains. Kavanah landed and pointed towards a mountain, which Dadramora looked at intensly. There sat Goria, the murderer of his people. Dadramora was immediately filled with an inner hatred for the god again, but more intense this time. He saw the blown up mountain and knew it was energy magic. He also knew that they were far enough away that Goria couldn't easily detect them. They sat there watching well into the night, Dadramora plotting the entire time.
If what'cha see is what'cha get, why can't ya judge a book by its cover?
Kavanah lowered his arm after he pointed. He took note of the type of facial expression Dadramora had when seeing Goria.
"To answer your question, um," he chuckled, "It would be easier as a story." ((this is how they waited until dark)) he began his story. "I was once a white angel with two pure white wings. But a sought after the forbidden magic because of its power, in doing so I was cursed you see, by my own people because I foolishly betrayed them. My wings then turned to the color black,"he held up his left arm, the cursed writing could be seen all over it glowing the faint magenta,"The curse almost killed me. I was in a state of limbo, there I had to choose which path to follow, I however choose to make my own. To walk in the twilight, and when I awoke this is how I was."
Steele dashed on all fours following Kavanah's and Dadramora's scent. He still owed Kavanah from when he saved his life months ago and he wasn't about to stand by and watch him fly to a potential death. Not only that but he didn't trust Dadramora, who meets someone and then demands them to take him somewhere? Pirates, Crooks, and Murderers that's who, and Steele would know. He'd been running for a half an' hour before he finally caught up to them. He slowly prowled on all fours watching them in the darkness. He eye'd Dadramora, then Kavanah. He knew Kavanah probably knew he was there, but the question was did Dadramora?
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
"Kavanah, your wolf friend followed us." Dadramora whispered, barely audible to even himself. Goria had started building his fortress in the hole of a mountain that he created, and Dadramora grew even sicker as he watched huge balls of fire erupt from the farmland area. "So, it's started..." He said, trailing off in his speech.
If what'cha see is what'cha get, why can't ya judge a book by its cover?
Kavanah chuckled as Dadramora seemed to worry about being followed, "It's fine I know." he thought for a moment, "You mean an invasion, a war, correct?" he said about his last statement.
"Yes, I do mean a war. Now, I've seen all I need to. It is time to stop this first invasion." Dadramora stood, then his wings and tail sprouted and he took off at high speeds towards the farmlands. (Dadramora left the thread, leaving Kavanah and Steele)
If what'cha see is what'cha get, why can't ya judge a book by its cover?
Kavanah shook his head, "Foolish, why would just admit to war and not ask two capable fighters to help?" He looked over to where he though Steele was, although he could sense energies, it didn't mean he knew everything. "You can come out now Steele."
Steele lept out from behind Kavanah and pounced on him. "See? 3 seconds. 3 is all it would take nd' ye'd be dead. Ye' neva' knoo if some crazy animal is jus' gonna' come nd' attack ye." He jokes. "Didn't yer' parents teach ye' neva' ti' talk ti' strangers? What thee hell are ye' doin' followin' a guy ye barely kno? Nd' furthermore who was that?"
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Goria had known they were watching them the entire time. Now, Dadramora was gone and therefore he had time to talk to the two that were more on the dark side. He teleported to them, then grabbed Kavanah's face and threw him into a tree. "So, Steele, have you considered my offer yet?"
Steele eyes went wide seeing his friend get thrown so quickly. It was Goria, the man..or rather opportunist he met at the Festival. He looked Goria in the eyes. "What are thee conditions?" He asked. Asking a werewolf to leave it's pack was like asking a child to run away from home. "What are we gonna' do?" Curiously he awaits an answer.
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Kavanah had begun laughing as he felt Goria's presence quickly soar through the air. Teleportation. He had been flung towards a tree, but a bit of flapping from his wings easily kept him from hitting it. He began to walk back over, it seemed like the man wanted to talk. If he could be civilized then there was no point in not acting civilized back.
Goria, annoyed at the bird boy, quickly grabbed Steele and teleported away to his half built castle in the hole of the mountain. "My conditions are simple. Attack where I tell you to, keep the spoils of war you get from it. Bring some trusted wolf buddies if you want, but I can supply you with soldiers. If you give me all of your loyalty, you will be king of Avaleur after this war. You will be one of my thanes, and rewards of your desire will be yours. I have need of worthy generals in the upcoming battles, and from what I saw at that pathetic festival, you'd make a good berserker general. Loyalty, and no questions when I give you orders is all I ask. Except for that, do whatever you want. Burn Avaleur to the ground when you're king if you want to, I honestly don't care."
Steele grinned. With an offer like that, one would be an absolute fool to refuse. Getting revenge on Balius, become Avaleur's ruler, AND being given an army? It was everything Steele wanted and all he had to do was say yes. He knew nothing about Goria, other than he was immensely powerful and didn't want to kill him....yet at least. "My friend ye' hev' yerself' a deal. I swear my undyin' loyalty ti' ye." Steele wasn't that great at commitment, but as long as everything was a good as it sounded, he'd have no problems. He'd already asked two questions, he learned from Balius asking too many questions leads to trouble. It'd be better to shut up and wait for his first order.
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Goria smiled, satisfied. Then he summoned a small golem made of unknown metal and looked at Steele. "This golem is known as Meta. He is your personal bodyguard, and he is as fast as a galloping horse yet as strong as you. He is unconcious, wanting only to serve you and me. Use him as your own." Meta walked and kneeled next to Steele. "Your first order is simple. Get what allies you want from your pack if you want them. After that is done, return to me and recieve your next order."
