Welcome to Avaleur, a medieval fantasy roleplay site where anything is a possibility. Face bandits, or knights. Work your way up to become part of Avaleur's castle, or try your luck at being a thief. Own a shop, be a guild master, start a family. The possibilities are endless.
Scooter sat at the front of the church. It was much more quiet than usual. It must have been because of the recent 'religious massacre' that took place during the war. However, looking around the church, you wouldn't even be able to tell of the misfortunes that took place. It was much cleaner now.
Well, Scooter wasn't bothered by it. He wanted to visit the church to thank Almora once more. He wanted to be like the people of Avaleur so he became well acquainted with their religions.
"Thank you, Almora for letting good things happen to me. I'm immensely happy. I have a lover, a house, great friends. My life has never been so sweet. I wonder if I just got lucky this time, or if it had something to do with you? Well, anyways, thanks! I'm glad to be here!"
He stood back up.
"And one more thing? Can you please try your best to make this war end? I don't know how much more this little town can handle, and it's my most favourite place on the planet. So please, if it does happen, make it as gentle as possible. Avaleur doesn't deserve bad things. Thank you."
Roland walked in through the doors of the church and collapsed into the back row. He was incredibly tired. His body ached from repairing and recruiting. But with the casualties that Avaleur recieved, there was yet another thing he felt he must do. Pray. Pray for the families, the children, and the parents that lost loved ones. He normally came to Almora to praise, and although he would give thanks today, sorrow would be the focus.
After finally catching his breath and relaxing a bit, he began to pray silently to himself.
Scooter stood up, he began to leave but soon noticed Roland.
"Roland!" he exclaimed to the man. "Hello, friend!" he was clearly in a good mood. He then realized he might be interrupting the mans prayers. "Ah, sorry! I'll be quiet now!" he said, pretending to zip his mouth shut with his hands.
Roland nearly fell to the floor from surprise. He flinched so bad in fact he kicked the seat infront of him a far ways. He looked up to see Scooter.
Roland's heart was beating fast and he was a little red from embarrassment. "It's fine, Scooter." he chuckled because that's what you do when you get startled for no good reason, "I was just about finished anyway."
"Ah, I'm sorry!" Scooter didn't think he was startle Roland so much. "I'm sorry!" he blushed, also embarrassed. "I just got really happy when I saw you because it's been awhile and I wasn't sure if we'd meet again! Sorry!"
Roland stood up shaking his head and smiling, "I thought I told you that we would of course see each other again. And don't worry about that." he said regarding the show he had put on. "Just wasn't expecting my name to be shouted." he rubbed the back of his head, "Almost thought the goddess herself was yelling to me." it was ridicules yes, but he did think that for a split second.
"Eh? Is my voice really that womanly? Ahh, well, nevermind! You came here to pray to Almora? I'm surprised, there haven't been many people here in a long time!"
Roland shrugged, "I don't want to just assume her voice is womanly," Roland frowned at the last comment, "Ya, unfortunately people are too shocked to return here just yet. I, however, come about every week."
"This is my first time being here since the incident. It doesn't seem like anything has happened. They did an amazing job on the cleanup. Why do you suppose people don't come here? Are they afraid it will happen again? or they just don't want to think about it?" Scooter rambled on and on.
"Maybe they are still repairing and preparing so they make it through the war." Roland hadn't really thought of that, but he hoped it wasn't because of fear.
"Oh, what positive thinking!" Scooter exclaimed. " And here I was thinking the worst! I'm a bit curious as to why nobody is evacuating Avaleur before the war happens? Isn't it dangerous for all those citizens to be around?"
"Yes, but where would they go? To the forest to meet with the werewolves, the barren lands to cross that wasteland? I mean this is the safest place unfortunately. Not only that, but the ones who are here, a lot wish to fight for their home. They don't want to leave, I don't think we could evacuate them even if we wanted." Roland explained.
Scooter thought it over. Well, it did make sense. "That's unfortunate then. Though, I feel like I'm always at the edge of my seat anticipating the second coming of this war. I wonder when it will happen. It feels just like any regular time, a lot of good things have been happening to me actually. I feel sort of bad for being so happy when I should be more worried!"

Roland sighed as he looked up in the air thinking. "Well, it's not much when you say it, but it's exhausting. I've been training some of the more elite soldiers, getting them ready, making them assume positions of troop leaders. Teaching them how to be troop leaders, stuff like that."
"That sounds like a lot to me!" Scooter exclaimed, surprised. "Wow! You must be super exhausted after all that tough work! Do you have much free time?"
Roland chuckled, "This is mostly my free time. Whenever I do anything else I normally am followed by either Ralof, Dennis, or one of the others. They just want to learn as much as they can, but I hardly have any time to myself." "Oh, I'm sorry for blabbing on and on, what's new with you?"
Scooter nodded his head as he listened. "It's okay! Listening to you is fun! Your life is interesting. Mine has been really easy lately. I got a boyfriend a few days ago! I'm kind of really excited about that! I also started attending school, but that's about it! I have so much free time that I don't even know what to do with it!"
"Interesting? I guess I never thought myself as interesting. But things seem to sounds as though they are going good for you. What are you in school for? Who's the guy? If I may know."
