"Don't you even pretend for a minute you belong here!" Cecilia wasn't sure what else to say. She was angry and hurt. Mostly by Phillis. So, why was she angry at this girl?
"And you're the one who took my room, aren't you? And you're wearing my clothes! What makes you think you're allowed to just run in here and take my spot?!"
"Papa told me I could take the room and the clothes from the closet! And I do belong here! I do! Papa said so.." She couldn't hold back her tears any longer and so she burst out crying. She was so angry at this girl for saying all this!
Cecilia rolled her eyes as soon as Alice had begun crying. " Well, Philly can't just give away my things like that! I don't want YOU to touch any of my stuff! I don't even want you to live here!"
Alice wiped her tears, stood up straight, stared defiantly at Cecilia and said, "Well I DO live here, and Papa DID give me your stuff. And there's nothing you can do about it! It's not your decision to make; it's Papa's."
Cecilia couldn't stand it any longer, she took a step towards the girl and slapped her square across the face. "Stop saying 'Papa'! HE'S NOT YOUR PAPA!"
Alice's hand shot to her face, touching the place where Cecilia had slapped her. She stared at her in shock; she had never been slapped before. "You.. You slapped me.."

"CECILIA!" Phillis voice boomed. He had gotten there just in time to witness his younger sister slapping his daughter. "What is Gods name is happening here?!" he yelled looking at the girl.
"I could ask you the same thing! She doesn't belong here and you know it!" Cecilia yelled back, not scared of her brother in the slightest.
Phillis shook his head. "I'm disappointed in you. Seriously." He knelt down beside Alice. "What happened here, sweetie?" he asked her, much more gentle. He needed to hear her side of the story.
At first, Alice just shook her head, not wanting to cause yet another problem between Phillis and someone he loves. But then she thought of all the mean things Cecilia had said and briefly explained what had happened.
"... and then she slapped me," she finished, not looking Phillis in the eye.

Phillis patted Alice on the head. "Don't cry, hun. She's just a bit jealous right now. She's used to being the center of attention all the time."
"Am not! Philly, why're you treating her like she's some angel?! You never treat anyone like that!" Cecilias eyes watered. She did feel jealous. She knew it, but didn't she have the right to be? She didn't even get treated that well! "Why're you trying to replace me? I only left for a little bit.." she burst into tears. "You're a t-t-terrible big brother!"
Phillis sighed. "Cece, stop crying. Please? I'm sorry for whatever I did wrong. I'm not trying to replace you at all. Okay? You're my baby sister, I couldn't replace you even if I wanted to." he tried not to laugh. It was a bad time too, but being surrounded by little girls fighting over him was a bit of a funny situation. He didn't dare laugh or even smile, knowing how serious a child would take it. " I love you both, kay? And I'd be super happy if you got along."
"N-No!" Cecilia sniffled. "You gave her all my stuff and y-you love her more than me I know it.."
Phillis hugged Cecilia, smiling a bit. " I know this isn't about your stuff. You told me you didn't care for those things anymore and wanted them to be thrown away. And I'm sorry if I'm a little mean to you sometimes. It's just because I'm your big brother and that's my job." He then turned to face Alice. "If Cecilia apologizes to you, will you forgive her?"

"I'm not gonna apologize to her, Philly.." Cecilia muttered, as she leaned against his shoulder.
Phillis sighed. He pushed the girl back gently, his hands on her shoulders as he looked directly in her eyes. " You were raised better than that. I don't want to see that attitude, alright? What would Winnie do if I wrote him and told him about how you're acting?"
Cecilia, although stubborn, knew when to give in. She turned to face Alice. She crossed her arms and muttered. "Sorry.."
"I think you can do better than that." Phillis commented.
"I'm sorry!" Cecilia nearly yelled, but it was much more clear than before.

"It's okay.." Cecilia smiled a little bit. It would still take her time to get over it, but for now, she was a lot less angry.
Phillis smiled, relieved to have dealt with the problem. "Now, I don't ever want to see you girls fighting ever again, got it? I'll be really upset with the both of you if I see it happen again."

"Good." Phillis knelt down, grabbing both girls into a tight hug. "I'd be really happy to see you become friends." Cecilia didn't mind the idea. If she was friends with Alice, then they'd both be getting equal attention. And Cecilia was never used to having friends her age. "Okay, Philly."

"Atta girl." Phillis said, patting both of their heads as he released them from the hug. "Now, we're gonna set down some ground rules here." Cecilia shifted awkwardly. She wasn't used to following rules.
" First off, no fighting each other. I don't want to see anyone hitting anyone else. You're both civilized people and can sort things out using words. But no foul language, if I hear any, I will not hesitate to wash your mouth out with soap. Got it? If you girls come across a problem you can't solve then come to me or Dante or any other trusted adult, alright? We're here to help you." Cecilia nodded her head. "Okay." She would mutter after every rule.
"Always ask permission before leaving the castle. It's can be pretty crazy outside and I'd feel better if you told someone before you decided to go out. Are you following along?" he asked, as he looked at Alice. He knew she would follow the rules anyways. He was saying most of it to Cecilia though, because he knew she would try to break the girl. He didn't want to see that happen.
