Theno had already been in the city, but nobody had really said anything to him. Maybe being in his robe had something to do with that, but he didn't care right now. The queen had brought forth no memories to him, so he had left and wandered into the marsh. It was wet, so he found himself a good branch to sit on and sat there for over an hour. Like an afterthought, he put his hood up and held his hand out. His sword appeared in his hand, all five feet of it.
"Light and Dark, like a perfect balance. You know one and must conquer the other in order to save those who cannot save themselves." He whispered. That was the only thing he remembered, those words spoken by a man he did not rememeber, a voice he couldn't put a name to.
Roe had been searching for the man immediately after his talk with Namari at the public announcement. He followed his trail into the marshlands, where it got much easier. He was sitting in a tree with a long sword that looked vicious by itself. Who knows how capable a fighter this figure was. His hood was still up, hiding his face in a veil of darkness, when he whispered something Roe could barely pick up on from his position forty feet away. Roe narrowed his eyes when he was done speaking, then stepped out with his sword drawn.
"Hello, mysterious one. Mind taking your hood down so I can see your face?" Roe asked. He positioned himself into a defensive stance, ready for any attack by the man.
Roland had a feeling Roe would run off and try to find the man he had pointed out in the crowds, so he had decided to tag along. Roe however, had left too soon for him to offer to join him, so now he was trying to follow his trail. Not easy but possible. He trudged through the marsh, about four minutes behind Roe, or less, according to the trial.
Theno glanced up at the elf. "I do mind. I don't wish for you to see it as of now." Theno took note of the elf's stance and knew he was here ready to fight. "If you want to fight... You won't win. You have no chance against one like me..." Theno warned, hoping he wouldn't have to fight.
Roe furrowed his brow, noting the cockiness in the young man's voice. "I think you underestimate me." Roe said flatly. With that, he charged and closed the distance within a few seconds. With a spin, he made a slice at the man's head.
Theno fell backwards and launched himself into the air, using the momentum from spinning around the branch. It was a unique dodge, but it worked. With a flip and spin, Theno turned to face the elf and aimed his sword at him.
"Light's Fury!" He exclaimed. With the words, hundreds of balls of golden magic erupted from the tip of his blade and made their way quickly to the ground. When they made contact with something, they would expand rapidly to thirty feet in diameter and explode soon afterwards, sending shrapnel in every direction. Usually it killed whoever he was fighting against with the magic bursts, but the shrapnel usually did them in.
Roe saw the attack and knew what its purpose most likely was. He immediately released his Blood Release, and memorized the heat signature of the strange man. Using his increased physical abilities, Roe stayed out of the way of the expanding balls of light, even as they destroyed the surrounding area and churned it into a wet wasteland. He drew a second sword and hid, slicing any shrapnel that came his way into pieces. After the onslaught, Roe lept up and charged straight for the strange man to engage him in close quarters combat, where he was best at. "I am Roe, The Hunter, The Avenger, The Fixer! Recognize and fear that which you fight now, and realize that you will not come out victorious!" Roe announced.
Theno blocked and dodged the elf's attacks well, recognizing the name somewhere but not knowing its meaning. After a few seconds of close quarters combat in midair, Theno blocked one of his sword blows with his foot and kicked off of it and away from Roe.
"They tell me my name is Theno. Got it memorized?" Theno asked. Before Roe had a chance to answer, Theno started another spell. Light appeared on the edge of Theno's blade, and he raised it above his head.
"Wave of Envy!" He screamed. As he said it, he brough his sword down, and a massive wave of light energy in a u shape launched itself at Roe. As it left his blade, Theno immediately started a second spell. This time, however, a purple magic formed on his left hand. He raised it into the air, and launched a ball of dark magic into the sky. It blew the clouds away in a spiral shape, and as the clouds departed numerous meteors made of dark magic started falling from the sky. There were hundreds of them, and that's when Theno felt the drain. Three spells of this magnitude in quick succession drained about half of his magic reserves immediately. Hopefully this would end the battle so he could take a nap.
Roe ran quickly to avoid the wave of light, managing to dodge to his left as it carved a path of destruction in its wake. This man obviously had no respect for the land, and even if the battle ended soon there would be damage that couldn't be repaired. Roe stood, ready to say something on this topic when he saw the tired man and the meteors descending upon the ground. There had to be hundreds of them, and if they all hit then there would be more than Roe's death. Roe swore, and debated going into his next form, then decided against it.
Roe sheathed one of his blades, then drew another. This particular combination gave him a body as light as a feather and strikes as fast and strong as a lightning bolt. Perfect for taking out most of these meteors. He jumped into the air, then slashed a meteor in half. He jumped from meteor to meteor, slashing as many as he could, but there were still about twenty or so left that he couldn't get. He swore and watched from above as they went to crash into the earth.
Rheo had seen the bursts of light from the city walls and had departed immediately. He got to the battleground right as the hooded man summoned the meteors, and he watched in awe as Roe destroyed a good majority of them. But there were still a few making their way down. With a grunt, Rheo summoned a good portion of Rau and sent them infused with wind into the meteors. The rest of them were sliced to ribbons, becoming nothing more than pebbles hitting the ground. But the exertion of Rau exhausted Rheo, and he soon found it difficult to run.
Theno watched as his attack was dissolved into nothing by Roe and the newcomer. That's when Theno took a closer look at the second man. It was Rheo! Theno dropped to the ground and laughed. He took his hood down, revealing his head and face, then ran up to Rheo and gave him a hug.
"How's it going Rheo?! God, it's been forever!" He exclaimed, forgetting completely about Roe.
Roland got up and brushed himself off. A large rock had come falling from the sky and knocked him to the ground, and whatever was happening, he knew two things. One the man wasn't a werewolf so he wasn't the killer, and two, Roe must need to work on his people skills.
He followed the smoke in the air to were all the men were. He sighed but couldn't help but chuckle, "Is it always fight first with you?" he asked Roe, he had heard the man tended to get fights started rather quickly.

Roe was utterly confused by what had just happened, but shrugged it off and landed lightly on the ground. That's when Roland showed up. "No, this is a very rare instance. Ninety nine percent of the time, I am always attacked first. Even then, I don't really fight back. It seems Avaleur is just a dangerous place at the time."
"This Is Avaleur." he nodded at Roe response. To avoid having him chase down any innocent civilians, Roland decided to tell him, "The general public is not aware of this, but it is almost certain that it was a werewolf not of the Kraven pack that killed him."
"Why would an invading pack just up and kill the king? It makes no sense why that'd be their first move. I think it'd more than likely just be a renegade werewolf, if a werewolf is the culprit. To be honest, the kings death doesn't seem... Real. If you get my meaning." He said all this as he watched Rheo and the strange man reminisce and be friends again.
"The shock of lossing a king could send people into a state of panic and paralysis. A new pack could use just that to advance its numbers, gain the upper hand, and take the city. And I know what you mean... But all evidence and eye whitnesses point an say that he was murdered..." he hated to say it. Roland, although perhaps one of the few, was unbelievably loyal to Phillis. And saw, although sometimes incorrect, the reasons in his decisions.
