She had completely given up on eating lunch in peace. Namari had taken to just eating at home, so as not to be disturbed and somehow drop her lunches. Because of this, she rarely left Avaleur's walls anymore.
Namari decided finally to leave for a break. In her 6 years living in Avaleur, she had never gone to the island. She had never bothered. But, finally, she had rented a boat and gone to the island. Namari sat on the beach, looking out at the water with her feet dipped in. It was relaxing to Namari, and she rarely felt relaxed.
Steele took the large fish out of his mouth and says, "Eh-didn't mean ti scare ye lass." Steele laughed. "Ye should really be aware if ye know what i mean." (Bad pun intended) Steele walked up to the sand and shook the water out of his fur causing wet dog smell to fill the air.
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
"Well aalreet te yee tee . Me nyame is Steele an im the one whee isn't judging yee on location." Steele sarcastically says. "We use tis' island as a hunting ground, tis where we get our scran. Nd' what are ye doing here ol' wetness?" Steele laughs.
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
"Bah! Since when has fun eva' come from peace nd' quiet?" Steele said. "Ifin ye really wanted peace nd' quiet just mention thee massacre in a church. That'll shut thee place up." Steele laughed. "Ye seem stressed hinny? Is it because yer wet er do ye just need ti get laid?" Steele had a crude sense of humor.
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Steele winked at her. "Steele." He said. "Canniest Steele on moss an' moor." "Well Namari are ye a fan of huntin'?" Steele broke a thick branch off of one of the trees nearby and began sharpening it with his claws. "Cause tis is MUCH better than-" He smirked. "Peace nd' quiet."
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
"No need ti hinny, thee hunting will come ti us." Steele says with a smile. Taking a band out of his pocket he stretches it around two trees. He gives a quick tug in the middle and the band bounces up and down in recoil. "Say yer not a tree hugga' are ye?" Steele says as he puts the sharpened branch on thee band and pulls back. "Cause if ye are ye might want ti close yer eyes right about..." Steele waits for a moment as a deer sticks its head out of a bush. "NOW!" Steele let's go of the band as the makeshift arrow launches at light speed and hits the deer in the head, pinning it to a tree. Steele laughs in approval, "Aye thee bastard neva' saw it coming."
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."

"I would have thought you would hunt with your claws and teeth," Namari smiled, interested. She was not at all disturbed at what had just happened. "Do you always hunt like this?"
"Aye i've been huntin' tooth nd' claw since i was a pup, but it got a wee bit boring. Ye already know ye can catch it but tis is much more entertainin'." He says sharpening another branch and looking up for a moment. "Why settle fir a few bones when ye can have thee whole lot, that was just small change hinny the real game is coming now. Ye want ti try?" He says gesturing for her to join.
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Steele smiled. "Alright." He says pulling back the band. "Aye now watch this." Steele says putting his pawed hands over his eyes so he can't see. A spiked fire gecko emerges from the darkness of the trees and after looking around for a moment, begins to eat the deer. Steele lets go of the band and the branch launches itself right at the Gecko. Its head is also pinned to the tree. Steele smiles. "Well I guess it twasn't THAT cool with all this." He says gesturing to himself. "Tis like a giant bow nd' arrow, ye just pull back nd send it straight ti hell."
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."

Namari nodded. Just like a bow and arrow...okay...I can do it then. She grabbed a branch and sharpened it with her dagger. She then placed the sharpened branch onto the band, and looked around. Another fire gecko was slowly making it's way toward the deer and gecko, being cautious. She pulled back the band, hoping that it would hit. Namari let go, and the branch was sent flying toward her prey.
"Oi right in thee gizzard'!" Steele says as the branch decapitates the gecko. "Good shot bonny lad! Are ye sure that was yer first time?" Steele says smiling. Just then a smaller fire gecko appears. A very small one that only came up to knee height. It looked to be a toddler. It began trying to push on the geckos bodies, trying to wake them up, not realizing they're dead. "Oi I think we killed its parents." Steele says quickly grabbing another branch and beginning to sharpen it. "Oh well that's life, better put it out of its misery." Steele says handing the branch to Namari.
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."

Namari frowned, staring at the gecko. She slowly went to take the branch, but flinched before grabbing it and pulled her hand back. "...umm...you can do this one," she smiled weakly.
