Namari raised an eyebrow at the boy. She laughed, putting her claymore on the wall. She quickly grabbed two wooden swords, about the length of a shortsword. namari threw the weapon ver to Phillis.
"Well...show me what you got, kid. First move is yours." she said, standing in a defensive stance.

Phillis caught the wooden sword. He examined it over. He gripped onto the end, trying to hold it properly. Now that you mention it.. he thought. I've never even held one of these before..
He quickly glanced into Namaris eyes. I hate that look she's giving me. Like she thinks lowly of me

As Namari jumped out of the way, she noticed that he was holding the sword awcuardly. It was probably in the wrong hand. She retraced her footing, standing in the same position she had been in.
The strength he had thrown a her was large, she could tell that. Though it would have been smarter to save his energy. Clearly he was mad.

Phillis crossed swords with the woman. He really didn't know how to fight. Was he actually supposed to hit her? Was he supposed to hurt her? But she was a girl. The first thing Phillis was taught was to never hit his sister because she was a girl. Did those same rules apply here? He didn't know.

In an attempt to block the hit, Phillis lost track of his footing and fell down on his bottom. "woah." He said, surprised, as he stood back up, brushing the dirt off his clothing.

Namari nodded, looking at his hands. "First off, are you right-handed or left handed? You should hold the sword in your dominant hand." Namari raised her left arm with the sword in her hand, to show that she was left handed.
"Next, just hold the sword in a way you feel most comfortable, but firmly." she shrugged, smiling sheepishly. "Thats what I do. It may or may not be proper."

Phillis nodded. Gripping the sword tightly with his right hand and gently cradling it with his left. He felt that it was a more comfortable and natural grip this time.
He took a deep breath before once again charging towards Namari, this time evening his strength a little better.

Phillis had come a fair bit closer to hitting Namari this time, but she blocked it in time. She blocked, and dodged his hits, looking for a weak spot. Namari could not find one very easily, Phillis was moving faster than she had predicted.

"Are you okay?" Namari grunted, as they clashed their swords together. They held their positions, trying to over power the other. It was only a matter of time before one of them gave in.

She withdrew her weapon, standing straight. "That was much better than I expected, Phillis. Well done." Namari said, grabbing his sword and handing it to him.
