How Vaenice began…
It has been several thousand years since Vaenice was shaken by Götterdämmerung, a great war that pitted the Vaenician gods against their creations, a winged race called Fionans. The catastrophic battles broke the Vaenician Pangaea and scattered the lands across the oceans. In the end, it was the gods who fell; but the race that contributed so much to the world suddenly decided to fade into the dark waves of the ocean as well, leaving behind very little but their teachings. It was then up to the humans, who emerged as a young race at the end of the war, to do what they wish with Vaenice left in their fragile hands…
Vaenice Now…
Much has changed since those ancient times. Humans have established great civilizations across Vaenice, with five nations achieving dominance in their respective regions of the world. An industrial revolution has changed the world forever, radiating from the coal-choked nation of Exiona. The Tritonian monarchy's aggressive nature and rapidly growing navy have several nations on high alert; their most natural opponent, the Empire of Hanshina, does what it must to avoid conflict. Pirates have returned with the advent of the airship, plaguing world trade lines. And an ancient winged man has awoken from a millenial hibernation, and vows to fulfill his grudge against humanity...
Lately…
Amado Vitapax, the reawakened Fionan, has vowed revenge on the human race. So far, only one group has stood in his way; the Shirokami crew, pirates led by a young man called Mako. Elsewhere in the world, ancient world-watchers sense a time of impending doom, and begin their independent journeys to stop the Fionan. The world around is devolving into chaos with the rise of the Automaton Army and a growing revolutionary movement in Exiona. Yet to some in this world, chaos is good business.
