The Beginnings

Roland sighed as he sat down one of the crates filled to the brim with things to decorate the new building with. Jordan and him had split the cost of buying this new building together. It was larger than their original stores and with a shared upper division, it almost tripled in size. After some discussion, the two had decided to make it into a Hunter's guild. It would be something new and fun for the city, not to mention it would help with discovering the wilderness and beasts within them, it was strange but although the people had lives here for so long, more than you would expect were unaware of what was actually out there.

Raymond huffed heavy breaths as he approached behind Roland, dragging a sled filled with things from the old store to fill up into the new.
"Aw, you know I just organized everything in the old place and now we are moving?!" He never liked the idea of moving, well actually he did... Just not the work part of it.
Getting Jordan onboard was mostly Raymond's doing, since he knew him better than Roland.

"You aren't scared of a little work are you?" Roland said chuckling as he knudged his cousin.
"Of course not!" He drops the handle to the sled and pushes Roland back, "I am training to be an ELITE you know, you better watch it. I could pin you to the ground or break your arm or something."

Roland held a serious face for only a moment before laughing, "Please, Raymond you have a long way to go."
That made him a little angry and he decided to try something he had seen Kim do to shut people up. He quickly sent a jab towards Roland's neck but instead of his neck, Raymond was met with his cousins hand that caught it and twisted his arm. Before he knew it he was on the ground. Roland put him in a fairly tight headlock before nuggying him while laughing.

He let his cousin free from it and he scrammbled quickly to the ground.
"Really Raymond? You tried to pull a Kim?" He smirked standing up, "Alright let's get back to work."
Raymond was a little hurt... He was still easily subdued and beaten... He woul have to work harder for sure. "Yeah, we don't want to make Jordan do all the work."



((This is open for really anyone, it is the start of the hunters guild so anyone wanting to join the guild can enter, even a passer by at this point.))

"Oh, I hardly doubt I'll be doing all the work," Jordan smirked, with a bit of a chuckle as he approached the two, a bit of a larger crate in his hands. He set it down as carefully as he could, but it still landed in a thud.

Jordan's old shop was rather close to the new building, close enough that he decided not to rent a carriage or anything of the sort, and just carry most of the supplies he owned there. But Jordan was definitely not a larger man- it was a bit straining on him. But he was stubborn with this task- he was going to get it done.

With selling the new shop, Jordan and Myra had decided to buy an actual home for themselves to live in. As much as he loved having his home above his shop, it wasn't the greatest idea to live at your job. It meant you were practically always on the clock. So, while Jordan was moving the items from the old store to the new building, Myra was getting started on the house.

The elemental wiped his hands off onto his pants, looking around.

"Hopefully we're all able to get this place up and running soon- both the hunting guild and the shop. Shouldn't take too long," Jordan commented as his eyes landed on the two. He then grinned, "Either of you two as excited as I am?" The elemental had never really had hunting buddies. He usually traveled alone. And now with a hunting guild starting up, he'd get his chance.

Roland smiled as he separated from Raymond's side and walked over to Jordan. He stopped by his crate first and grabbed a rather large object that was covere by a leather skin to act like a protective sack.
"Shouldn't take too long at all, but hey, first check this out." Roland uncovered the wooden sign with THE HUNTER'S CIRCLE carved beautifully into it. He handed it over to Jordan to see closer. "We can hang it somewhere on the building for everyone to see, I was going to have one made for your shop... But uh we sort of couldn't remember what it was called." He rubbed the back of his head embarrassedly for a moment, "We do have a chunk of wood for you to carve yourself though." He smiled.

Raymond got it out and set it up against Jordan's crate.
"Hey Roland, toss me the keys and ill go in and check it out!" He held out his hands for the keys.
Roland tossed them to him and then poked around in his pocket for Jordan's key.

The building worked as follows: there were two open rooms on the first floor just about the same size. A separate key for each. The top section was shared with the door from the top to the bottom being able to be locked from inside the two respective rooms. Each shop had a staircase and each shop had its own small storage closet, probably mostly used for money.

Raymond took the key and wasted no time opening it up to check the place out.

"So were you able to buy that new house? Was it out in Riverbed?" Roland asked as he continued to mingle with Jordan.

Jordan nodded, with a grin. He was looking forward to living in riverbed- it was very natural. It still wasn't like living alone in the forest, but it was pretty close. And Jordan was excited.

"Myra and I are hoping to be settled in as soon as possible. It shouldn't take too long," he commented, looking at the wooden board beside his crate. "And no worries... I was thinking of renaming my shop anyways. Right now it has a pretty darn boring name."

The elemental grew a bit more excited as he examined the wooden sign with the hunter's circle engraved on it.

"Do you know many people who might be interested in our little group?" he asked, facing Roland once more.

Inside the shop Raymond was knocking on walls and floors, trying to see if there was some sort of secret room or cellar. It was a little strange, yes, but Roland was a wee bit paranoid ever since returning from Doringo and if there wasn't already a secret cellar beneath them, they would be putting one in. He didn't find anything, so he then went to finding the best place to put the entrance for one.

"I see, so are you building your own home or did you purchase one out there that was already built?" Roland knew many people built their own homes from the abundance of trees but some of the cabins already built were quite nice. At least he had heard that anyway.

"As far as other people, I am sure we will get a few of the pack wanting to join, and to be fully honest, that is all I can speak on. I have been gone for a long time... I don't remember everything, and much has changed I am sure."

"We figured it'd be easier to move into one already build, at least for now while we're moving the shop, y'know? We'll probably build one in the future, but not anytime soon," Jordan felt that was the most logical choice in his situation, at least.

"And to be honest, I'm pretty out of the loop in changes, so I couldn't tell you!" the man grinned, and chuckled slightly. And it was true- he didn't have too many friends, so word never really got around to him.

Thinking of the pack, he wondered what they would be like. He had only ever met one werewolf like them, and it wasn't the best experience. He hoped that the pack members he might meet would be a lot more friendly.

The thought of werewolves brought his thoughts to his newly found friend, Hanna. He would have to mention her to Roland- Jordan wouldn't want her being hurt on any of their hunting trips.

"Right, right, no that seems like a wise decision." Roland nodded his head as he listened. Building a home was rather time consuming, and time would probably be spent setting up the shop for a while at least.

Roland could see the expression on Jordan's face completely change for a moment when he mentioned the pack. Or perhaps it was something else but he figured it was because of that.
"They are bothered by us as much, if not more than we are of them... at least that was how I saw it while I was here."

Inside Raymond had seen all he wanted and ran back out, "I knew it! You guys are going to see how much of the work I'll do before either of you two start doing anything." He smirked, he joked mostly.

Jordan listened to Roland intently. He did not know much about the situation with the werewolves- but it was good to know other perspectives. Even if that wasn't what he was thinking about.

The elemental turned and looked at Raymond with a smirk, folding his arms. Deciding to joke back.

"Hey, for the most part it was working, huh Roland," he laughed, nudging Roland with his elbow a bit. Then laughed more, patting Raymond on the shoulder. "Sorry, bud, not meaning to hand all the work to you. It won't be like this most of the time."

Jordan may have been joking, but Roland wasn't. He was trying to let his cousin do as much as he would. Roland wasn't exactly one for cleaning and organizing things at least not like this sort of stuff, Raymond on the other hand seemed to enjoy it.

"Alright fine, I will do the moving, but you better do whatever it was that made the shop look so great." it was true, Roland left the place like a yard sale or bargain market, and when he had returned he had found it like something he would have seen in the noble's streets in Tetra. Raymond had truly done a great job with the place.

"And don't prick yourself with any of those spider fangs! I don't want to half to force feed you and rewrap your bandages from the painful boils you'll get."

Raymond only smiled and headed back into the shop.
Roland sighed and shook his head slightly before looking over to Jordan, "Need any help with your things? I can just push that sled full of mine to the door and have Raymond work away while I help you. Surely that isn't everything from your place right there." he stated looking at the rather large crate but it was no way a Hunter's store worth of stuff.

"Ohh, you don't have to help!" Jordan chuckled. "There is a quite bit more left, though. I mean, there was a lot of tools and stuff I have to use still back there. Not to mention products already made."
As he thought more, he dreaded the thought of having to bring back all the rest of the things. It had to be at least four more boxes like that! Not to mention any furniture left back there he would want to grab. He shook off the thought- moving was work, he shouldn't be complaining.

The elemental shrugged as he bent down, put the wood onto the crate before picking the entire thing up slowly.
"I should be fine," he laughed, before beginning to enter the building. "You might have a helper, but that doesn't mean you're not busy!"

Roland laughed, "Please Jordan, busy? No I am not too busy to help you with the lifting, I am much better at that than I am at decorating. Think of it as saving me from some more dreadful hours here figuring out what should go in this glass box."

Roland had never really collected anything, Raymond on the other hand had collected bugs, fish, and shells back on the island he used to live on. He knew a thing or two about organization.

"It really won't be any trouble at all."

Jordan pondered for a moment, before chuckling, giving up. "Alright, sure. Do me a favour and open the door for me, then when I put it in the room we can walk over to my shop." Jordan was never one to give any conflict- and hey, if Roland helping him out was actually helping Roland out too, then why not?

Roland did as he said and opened the door up for him. It hadn't been locked up yet, Roland had gotten the keys just as the previous owner was leaving an he didn't see the need to lock it.
"Sounds good to me."

He wasn't for sure how far away the shop was from the new one, but Roland looked forward to seeing more of the town again. A little nervous as well.

Jordan shuffled his way through the doorway, and moved around the room. He stood in the center of the room, trying not to let the wooden sign fall to the floor as he did so, and looked around. After a few seconds of quick examination, Jordan decided at that moment that there was no better place to put the box, then right where he was standing- for in his mind, it didn't matter yet.

The elemental dropped the box once more, a little more careless this time, and steadied the sign that threatened to fall off. Once he was confident it wouldn't be ruined, he wiped his hands off of his shirt to get rid of the dust that had begun to linger on his hands.

Jordan turned to Roland with his almost guaranteed grin, "Alright, I'll lead the way then!"

He made his way out the two doors, knowing that Roland would be behind him. And once outside, he turned left towards his old shop. "So what was it like the last time you were here? I don't really remember, to be honest I don't keep track of politics and what-not. So I never really heard about you leaving til long after," Jordan placed both hands folded around his neck to get comfortable as he chatted with the hand of the Queen.

Roland held the door open and looked into the room. Looked nice, he had given Jordan the slightly larger one for obvious reasons. Jordan made many of his merchandise so a little extra room for a workshop was what he needed. It was only fair.
The place looked pretty nice already, besides a bit dusty.

Roland followed Jordan out and walked with him.
"To be honest, things were not well at all my friend. Besides perhaps the dark coming to an end. The whole place was user turmoil. The evil ones, as I have heard them called nowadays, that and the dark ones, nearly took over the city."

He looked around to the slightly happy setting of town. "I can be glad to say it doesn't look quite like that now."

"Ahh, yes... I remember that..." Jordan let go of the back of his neck and rubbed at the stubble on his chin as he thought.
"Wasn't exactly the greatest times, ehh?" he laughed spotting his old shop in the distance. He was happy it was so close- a lot less time to spend on the trips he would be taking there and back.
"I guess I was pretty darn lucky to be in Riverbed when it started happening. Means I didn't have to be in the thick of it," he thought back, and shook his head. He was still relieved that Myra and himself had not been hurt- hell, he didn't even know the extent of damage done to the town, he wanted to stay in Riverbed until he was sure that everything was safe to go back to Avaleur.

Roland looked over Jordan as he spoke. To say the man knew many things about other species was perhaps an understatement. There were very few creatures he hadn't studied on.
But as he looked at the ice elemental, he realized he had never ponder or thought of this before.

"Jordan," he realized this statement was completely off subject but not entirely in accident. Roland didn't exactly want to admit to being in the other side. Although it was for only a small amount of time, it bothered him. "Do the elementals have beards? And when I ask that I mean does it appear, distinguishably appear, in the elemental forms?"
He had never asked or been told. He assumed yes but had never seen such a thing.

He raised an eyebrow, then held in his laugh. It was hard to- it was such an odd question, he had never been asked it before. But his breath would not last, and a small laugh managed to slip out.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to be so rude... it's just an odd question!" he laughed once more, with a blush going to his cheeks. Once he managed to catch his breath, he answered.
"Everything that you see on me appears in my elemental form. Any hair, any scars, any tattoos, they appear. It's basically just the element inside us just taking control over our body. For example, a layer of ice takes over my body, and everything on me basically becomes some sort of shade of blue- even my skin. Though that's a bit less noticeable then blue hair!" he grinned. "So basically, our elemental form doesn't get rid of any attributes we have- it only makes more."

Roland laughed along with Jordan as he did. It probably was a silly question, given the fact he had known the answer to it all his life. Roland hadn't he knew much about elementals, but he had just never seen one, in life, in a painting, in anything have a beard. He just couldn't imagine it.

"I see, and are there many elementals that have beards?" he asked because he had never seen it. Maybe they just liked to be clean shaven.

"Well, I suppose it is all down to preference. Just like humans. You either want a beard, or you don't. Me personally? I prefer a bit of scruff on my face. You know, the prickly stuff. That way I look older than a teenager, but not as old as a seasoned soldier, y'know?" Jordan shrugged, then shoved his hands in his pockets.

They slowed down, and Jordan stopped in front of his shop. he placed a hand on the doorknob and turned it.

Inside, the building was much more empty than it previously was. It turned out that Jordan did not have as much things as he had thought, and it took hardly any boxes at all to pack his things. Jordan figured that this was probably due to his need to space out everything evenly.
In the center of the room were two boxes, about half the size as the one he had originally brought with him, and two boxes the same size as the first.

"I'm probably gonna miss this place," the elemental chuckled light-heartedly, moving towards the boxes and looking them over, wondering which one to carry back.
