*Name: Yaira
*Age: 24
*Gender: Female
*Race: Human
Location: Far Away
Guild: N/A
*Class(es): Mage
*Appearance: Yaira finds appearance of absolute importance. Her hair is blonde and reaches her lower back. It is slightly wavy and always groomed neatly. She has light eyes, her skin is pale and she is quite tall for a woman. Her waist is slim, the rest of her build is average. Yaira likes to travel, but does so ladylike; she Always wears a gown, no matter the conditions. The colors she usually wears are black and red, but occasionally purple too. She wears a little hair band in her hair as well, either red, black or silver.
*About: Yaira is kind at heart, but isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. She can be somewhat naïve, which causes her trouble at times. She has many emotions bottled up inside of her, but most of the time, she’s in denial about that. Even though she’s had a troubled past, she seems happy most of the time, but she’s also very insecure. Being on her own for a long time makes her wonder if she has the ability to be among other people and be social.
Yaira is very impulsive and sometimes does things she regrets afterwards. She often needs approval to know what she’s doing is the right thing. Although she feels socially awkward, she chats a lot and is usually in a good, bubbly mood. Some say she ‘lights up a room’. On the other hand, she can have a bad day and be snappy, but usually quickly apologizes for that.
She is an expert at caring for people; she has done so for her brother, without him noticing much, for years. She’s good at listening and although she doesn’t think very highly of it herself, she usually gives good advice as well. She likes being by herself, but she also can’t deny she often feels lonely and would like someone to keep her company. She’s in love with fairytales and stories in which characters find their ‘true love’ and hopes to find hers one day. One of her hobbies is reading those stories and she’s a true daydreamer.
*Weaknesses/Fears: Initially, Yaira seems distrusting, but it doesn’t take a long time to win her trust; she’s secretly desperate to have a friend, but sometimes, she mistakes those who take advantage of her for people who are trustworthy.
Yaira is human, which means she can easily be killed. She isn’t very strong and relies on her brother for protection. When separated from him, she tries to stay out of trouble, but she doesn’t always succeed in doing so. When she’s faced with a tough situation, she tries to outsmart her enemy.
She’s afraid of being alone and tries to surround herself with people most of the time, and she’s mostly afraid she’ll never find true happiness and will stay alone all her life. Yaira’s also cautious around men when first meeting them, as her experiences with men haven’t always been great.
Weapons/Magic: No weapons. Yaira has the ability to feel and see spirits. Through rituals, she can contact them. Sometimes, strong spirits contact her as well. She visits cemeteries, where many spirits linger and attempts to help them find a safe passage to the spirit world. At times, she can call on them to come to her aid.
History: In her childhood, Yaira was abandoned by her mother and left with her abusive father. Luckily, she’s always had her big brother Ilyas to rely on and to protect her. When she was 10 years old, her father passed away under mysterious circumstances, but Yaira finally felt free. At age 13, she discovered she had a special gift: She could see white shards of cloud, that slowly formed into figures; spirits. Frightened at first, she tried to run from it for a long time. When she was 16 years old, Yaira was no longer afraid of the spirits. Actually, she’d only grown more curious, as she now saw them nearly everywhere she went. She tried to contact them through rituals, at first clueless and inexperienced. But with time and practice, more spirits would answer to her and she managed to even bond with a few.
A year later, Yaira and Ilyas were separated as he got married and became a father. It was a hard period for Yaira; she had to stand on her own two feet. And though she struggled, she did eventually manage. She found herself a secluded house in a forest, far away from the human world, where she could be herself and be around her spirit friends.
For five years, she lived there. Every now and then, she would visit her brother, who lived in a village, far away. Until that faithful day, when she got the news that Ilyas’ wife and daughter had passed. Without even a bit of doubt, she packed her belongings and travelled to him. Unable to stay in his old village, Ilyas roamed the lands, restless and saddened, but with his sister by his side; it were the two of them again.
Pets: None.
