Name: Coriander Marcus Sinzire
Age: 734
Gender: Male
Race: Vampire
Location: From a Far Away place, seeking to instill new terror
Guild: N/A for now.
Class(es): Assassin
Appearance:
Tall dark and handsome are not the right words to describe a creature like Coriander. Just the fact he resembles a human is enough to get him by. However he can appear in the forms of peoples' fears with a little bit of mental manipulation. His overall appearance is easy to remember. One that people never truly forget, really. His hair is jet black in color. Short and usually unkept because he doesn't often care about it in the least. It's a bit wiry but soft to the touch and stops just above the top of his spine.
His eyes are white in color. They never seem to change from that. Around them, his sockets are black and sunken in. As if he hasn't slept in weeks. Which wouldn't be a surprise that most of the people he torments look like him all of the time. His skin is pale. Almost greyish white but still holds a little color. Especially after he feeds. His face shows a strong jaw and prominent features that point out he was good looking at one time in his life. But he's a lot thinner than he used to be. His muscle mass has gone away, leaving pale flesh and a figure that makes you think you could fit him through a key hole.
However, he does have a statuesque figure that some tend to be intimidated by thanks to his 6'1" height. His clothing is nothing but an assortment of black. No matter what the occasion, black is his choice for his appearance. Like a shadow. Or a wraith. Once you see this creature, you'll wish you never had.
About: Coriander is a sophisticated individual. He has a steady, well educated and well-mannered head on his shoulders. As a noble sociopath, he is polite, well motivated to argue his point of view in a lot of things and the like. He doesn't have a temper or if he did, he wouldn't know how to show it off. He seems placid and quiet until you find a way to get him to talk to you of course. But with his general appearance, you wouldn't usually want to approach him until you had a good reason to do so in the first place. The human facade is a well-known ploy among his kind. And the way he presents himself is like playing the cheese in a mouse trap. What lurks underneath that human exterior is nothing more than a monster under the bed.
For what he truly is, Coriander possesses the greatest belief that emotions are foolish. Like a common sociopath, he doesn't have the ability to show emotion. Nor to feel emotion. Besides a more animalistic form of possession. When not in the view of the public, Coriander is a calm, emotionless being that prides himself in controlling humans and whoever gives themselves to him. To which he uses his charms that his kind naturally have to influence complete cooperation from those he holds dear to him for the continuation of his long life. So he keeps them healthy and as happy as someone like him can manage. Alas, he cannot love someone that feeds him and he cannot find someone that will give him a child. He is far too... unappeasing to the average person to handle apparently.
The rest of this monster is the darkest sort. Some call him the Boogeyman. Which is quite catchy. He travels only during the night in search of victims. To feed from or to kill. Or simply to allure back to his home and force them to become a blood slave. He can play tricks on the mind and let the madness sink in. He is cruel in these methods and it's not exactly clear what some people experience with him, but it's terrifying to be the next person he comes across. Lock your windows... Lock your doors... And lock the closet...
Weaknesses/Fears:
Dying: What creature doesn't fear death when he gives it all of the time? Coriander has a good thing going for him and he doesn't want to give it up.
Not being feared: What would the Boogeyman be if he wasn't feared by the masses or those that truly believe there's a monster in the closet? Not being feared at all wouldn't give Coriander any purpose whatsoever. Thankfully, its hard to come across someone without a fear.
Large mobs: He almost died by the hands of his slaves centuries ago and since then, he hates lots of people swarming around him. Call it a form of claustrophobia if you will, but Coriander thinks it's a death trap waiting to happen.
Being forgotten: Every night, he goes out and has to remind people why they need to be afraid of the dark. Because being forgotten as the Boogeyman and not living on eternally in the story books is bad for his reputation.
Being locked up: Thank to a vampire who had locked him up in the darkest and deepest pits under a castle for centuries, Coriander hates restraints with a passion and will do everything in his powers to keep himself free from anything that would make him powerless.
Magic: Coriander has gone through years of teaching himself some of the darkest abilities of the vampire ways. Which brought him to being THE Boogeyman. The ability to make peoples' worst fears and nightmares come to life through mind manipulation is the key and the very heart of this vampire's power. But it only needs the full attention of the victim's mind or it just can't happen. Thus, Coriander will tend to feed from his victims first to get a better taste or connection to them. Thus solidifying his influence on them.
History: Note: His written history is about twelve pages long. I won't torture you with it. Here's the shortened version...
He was born 734 years ago in a place far from Avaleur to a well made family. His name had been different back then. However, he and his family didn't get along too well after he returned from serving the King of that land. He was far too spoiled and angry and tried to force his father to hand over the family estate because he believed he earned it. He and his father fought and Coriander came out the winner. He killed his mother too and took over from there. He eventually found a woman and married her despite the fact she hated his entire being.
Coriander was a heavy drinker, an abusive husband and a bad-tempered man during his human years. But that changed one night while he was asleep in bed with his wife. The slaves of the estate came in and caught them both off guard. They forced Coriander to watch while they willed his wife by cutting her heart out. They began doing the same to him, but before they could get very far, something intervened. Coriander dropped to the bloody bed next to his dead wife, hearing the sounds of screams and blood spatter and the thunk of bodies hitting the ground.
Through blurred vision and a mind not all clear, he saw a figure and hear a question. His response was a whispered 'save me'. He didn't feel the bite, the sharp pain, or the life leaving him. But he woke up some days later to get a greeting smile from his sire Vincenzo. And thus started his vampire life.
Since then, Coriander has been subject to many a torture and tribulation. Including being locked up for 155 years deep under a castle because he slaughtered a whole village out of blood lust. The darkness had made him insane, but also became his tool. His best friend. He learned little by little to hide in it and embrace it like himself. Eventually, he used it. He killed the vampire friend of his sire and escaped.
He traveled town to town, causing murder, terror and distress. All in a night's work for the vampire. Soon, people were calling him a demon, but didn't know who he really was or where to find him. Coriander was the original Boogeyman and took the role well enough. He had been a solitary vampire for the most part without needing a coven or some sort. His insanity wasn't something most wanted to be around.
When he finally arrived in Merovech some years ago, he did what he normally did. Causing chaos and all. Until he met a young boy in a cemetery one night. The vampiric shifter caught his attention after the boy killed someone. Coriander gave praise and offered to teach the boy more about the darkest vampire abilities, saying he could be more powerful than his father or sister. Coriander, for the first time in his life, took a student under his wing. Julien proved to be a very fine pupil until he brought home a girl he had bitten.
Coriander took note of their situation, told them to pack and leave Merovech with him. He has since found a place in this new kingdom of Avaleur. Though a decrepit-looking home just as he likes it close to the ruins of the old castle and around the farmer's fields. Still close enough to the main city for hunting but far enough to be safe.
