"Hmm...maybe we can go to the magic class first." Dante grinned. His favourite part in the whole school. "Would you mind going there?" he asked politely, just in case Phillis did not want to go there.

" I suppose we can go there." Phillis said, as he had taken a small interest. They walked down the halls, the younger boy lead the way. Phillis looked at the interior. It most certainly was as quaint on the inside as on the outside, he noted.

He led Phillis up the stairs, to the second floor. After walking for not too long, he stopped at a door labeled 'MAGIC CLASS'. "Well, this is it." Dante stated. He opened the door. Luckily, only a few younger students were there practicing spells. The class had two sections. The first contained chairs and desks, facing a larger desk for the teacher. Notes, and diagrams were set up on the board.
The second section was raised about a feet off of the first section. It was cleared of all objects, with some book cases at the side. In the center of that space, a star was painted in silver on the ground. The area was used for practicing spells.

"Woah." Phillis said simply. "This is kind of interesting." He looked at the students practicing. "I didn't think they taught magic.. I thought it was something you simply learnt by yourself."

"The thing is, you can. The school just makes you more advanced in it, is all..." Dante shifted his weight uncomfortably. "The thing is...the only reason they build this school, I think, is to make us ready for a battle." He sighed.
"Avaleur is extremely unprotected. Sure, we have the arena contestants, but they don't really enforce the law or anything...not to mention there arent that many members of the arena. So," Dante continued, "Clearly they want us ready to fight. So that we're more protected than last time we were attacked..."

Dante laughed half-heartedly. "The last time we were attacked was hundreds of years ago...when the city was over twice as big...another city got jelous of us, and destroyed the castle and half the city. Most of the guards, and most of the people died. The king and queen died as well.
"The ruins used to be the castle, and the forest was the other part of the city. And the same city that attacked us so long ago is growing restless. We have been getting larger in numbers, and stronger." he finished, stretching.
"Although," Dante grinned, "you do underestimate our school. Even the youngest students here in any fighting class could defeat a grown man that did not go through these classes."

"The children here are raised to fight so young. Seems dreadful." Phillis looked at the children practicing magic once more. "They do seem strong though, I'll give them that much."

"The kids arent forced to go to school...if they dont want to, their parents cant force them to." Dante smiled, stretching, "Take me for instance, I've been here since I was 8. Always wanted to do magic."

"Well, in this city, education doesnt mean much. Most of the students come here from different villages and cities, study here for years, then leave and go back to their old village or city. Its free education. You don't have to be royal, or a noble or lady to learn here. You dont have to pay, like in most places." Dante nodded.
"If you dont go to school, you do the normal kid stuff. Play, do chores, and when they get old enough inherit their parents farms, or stores. Us students still do that, but we can make ourselves be somebody by learning here." He said, "We can become knights, or great sorcerers."

Dante nodded, agreeing with Phillis. "The only bad part has to be the dangers...we're surrounded by wilderness, where dangerous creatures roam. Its not really a great place to raise your kids, I guess I'm trying to say!" he laughed.
"So where did you use to live?" Dante asked, smiling at Phillis. Phillis seemed well-educated himself.

"Classified information." Phillis smirked. "I'll just say that it's much different from here. Nobody uses magic there, not many people are educated either."
He took a second look at the room. "Well then, shall we tour elsewhere?"

Dante smiled, nodding. I'll find out eventually... he thought, closing the classroom door and walking down the hall.
"This is the fighting classroom." they stopped at a walk-in entrance. Dante walked in, and looked around. Class hadnt started yet, but again there were people practicing in the middle of the room.
The room was empty in the center, but at the sides were many weapon stands. Some held fake, wooden swords. Others held shortswords, dagger, claymores, longswords, and axes. There were multiple display cases, and bows and arrows were proped up against the wall. There were no desks, chairs, or books.

"I noticed most of the kids here have weapons of their own. Is that mandatory?" Phillis asked, he couldn't help but approach the stands holding the weapons. It was unlike anything he'd seen before.

"No, not at all. The kids just like buying their own weapons, so that they can take them home. The weapons here, you can't take out of the classroom." Dante said.
"I'm not really good at this kind of thing, so if you need to ask any specific questions about fighting, or this class, ask Namari. She's a fighter in the arena. She's a bitch, but she can be helpful...for a price." He laughed. He looked at the two people fighting in the room. They were fighting with wooden swords, around the ages of 10 and 12. They were fairly good, could have easily defeated Dante.

"Hmm.. I'll keep the name in mind." Phillis gave the room one last look before heading to the door. "When do your classes begin?" He asked. " It seems like you all come here much too early."

"Well, by now class should start in a few minutes..." Dante looked at the hallways, noticing it having many people in it. He saw Denzel, smiled and waved at her, hoping she would notice.
"So yeah...I should be getting to class." Dante laughed. "I hope to see you again, Phillis! In the mean time, you should just ask anyone you see around the school questions, or people in the town. Most would be happy to answer any questions!"
Dante smiled at Phillis. Hopefully we can become friends Dante noted to himself.
