Not a sound could be heard from this shy hunter. Sitting quietly a top a tree, watching smoke ascend from a round container with holes in the near distance. The smell of rotten flesh and chop liver could be smelled through much of the forest. The container contained basic elements, and smudged to create an incense that attracts wild animals. This particular incense was meant to attract predators.
After some time, a large figure appeared from the trees. A bear. It was attracted to the incense. Conall notices, and silently draws his bow, aiming for the bear. The bear started clawing and gnawing at the incense. Conall fired his arrow, but missed the bear. The bear looks around towards where the arrow landed. Conall takes a deep breath, and silently draws another arrow, fires, and hits the bear in the side. It roars and snarls, and thrashes at the container, destroying it. Conall takes a few more deep breaths as he gets more and more nervous. He silently draws and fires another arrow at the bear. As it hits, the bear turns and notices Conall sitting in a tree. It continues to roar and snarl as it started heading towards the tree. Conall begins acending the tree even higher. He looks down at the bear as it was looking up at him, still roaring and snarling. Conall reached for the small hatchet on him, and started hacking at a large branch. He also notices that the bear is trying to climb the tree. Conall started panicking and made his swings faster. By the time the bear got half way up the tree, he managed to cut through the branch. It fell and hit the bear on the head, but only made it angrier. Conall readied his bow by impulse. With one last roar by the bear, Conall screamed and fired an arrow down it's throat. The bear fell out of the tree. The woods became silent again. Conall was relieved, and proud. He climbed down the tree and gazed at the bear for minute. He thought to himself, "Oh no... what have I done?" as he pulled the arrow out of the bears mouth. He felt disgusted and guilty for killing such a hearty creature. This was also a confusing thought, for his goal in the first place was to hunt this large predator in the first place, for it's been terrorizing him for some time. He also plans on using the bear for supplies, like food and leather. He then became proud again for managing to hunt a predator much more dominant than him. Conall looked around hoping he could find something to use to dispose of the bear. He wondered off, leaving the bear dead on the ground.
Hanna had a goal in mind today. A big one in fact. To go exploring and expand her knowledge of the Avaleurian wildernesses. Figuring she had stayed in the West area of the forests for almost half a year now, she felt it was time to find other places should the food supply grow short depending on the seasons and the weather. Or if some band of hunters made it difficult for her to find anything to eat around her area.
So it was said and done in the back of her mind as she trekked through the pine forest by herself. Unlike the other werewolves in Avaleur, she appeared as a normal wolf, really. Her coloring was unique in itself. Ranging from blackish grey to rusty red and then to tan-ish and an off white on her belly. She sort of blended in with her surroundings pretty well, but she moved too much while searching the area. So she was easily spotted if one was looing in her direction.
She moved quietly, stealth-like in fact. For this was a new place for her to discover and explore. And she didn't want any sort of trouble running into her or vice versa. So with careful steps and eyes and ears looking and listening to every little sound made or movement near or far, she continued on. Her blue eyes were quite prominent and gave her a more human-like quality than the gold-colored eyes most werewolves had.
She was unique. Non-violent. Cautious. An Omega through and through. Alone and without a pack, but brave enough to explore and learn. Through her years, she had seen and experienced a lot. But nothing made her turn a blind eye from anyone. She was just as compassionate about life as she was about anything else. And with that, thoughts of a young child came to the back of her mind. Izzy, the pup she was a nanny to.
She smiled as she wandered through the pine forest, avoiding any branches or twigs that may give off a sound and alert a predator somewhere. Her tail was tucked far between her legs. A sign to anyone that might spot her that showed she was submissive. Extremely in fact. Her tongue slipped out of her snout and licked around her nose and jowls. She smelled something good. Really good. So good that it made her stomach growl.
She swallowed and stood still for a minute. She definitely got a whiff of something and being as hungry as she was, she had to have something. Licking her snout again, she continued on, letting her slender, furred body wander through the forest as if she was on a mission. So thin she was, and a bit dirty too. But that's what happens when you live in the wilderness all your life. She didn't think much on her appearance.
She happened upon the dead bear moments after Conall had wandered off and was out of sight. Her eyes were fixated on the dead bear and the smoke from the container that had made the air smell so amazing. Something had happened here and Hanna knew it too well. The bear had been killed recently, she gathered. Only because she had gotten close enough to see fresh blood pooling under its head and from its mouth.
She was filled with a sense of danger, but her stomach had gotten the best of her. She was starving and hadn't been bothered by her hunger until she had caught a whiff of that lovely incense. The bear's fur was too thick with fur and fat to rip through, but she could start somewhere. The thought hadn't even crossed her mind that someone might come back for the bear. But instead, she pawed at the bear's throat and found a soft spot, sinking her canines into the flesh and tearing a hole open.
The kill smelled amazing and she went to work, gnawing at whatever flesh she could sink her teeth into.
Myra had been tracking a doe through the woods for over an hour before that stupid bear came along and scared it away. Swearing, she had hopped up a tree to try and outrun the doe in the air. She had done this before as a child back at her village and her feet still remembered their skill. A lump formed in her throat as she thought about her village and how they surely must've figured out she had defected. They would send a party to kill her soon, and she knew she must get away from Avaleur before that happened. For now, though, she would continue to exercise her skills.
She raced through the treetops, hounding after the doe every second of the way. She had filled her body with electricity, forcing her body to move quicker and be more agile than she was before. Being an elemental had its advantages, even if other races shunned her a lot. She knocked an arrow and drew it, running through the edges of tree branches so quickly they barely registered her weight. She aimed, ready to fire, when the doe took a sudden left like it had sensed something or someone near. She swore and went to turn sharply, only to have the branch she momentarily stopped on snap beneath her. She fell to the ground, falling through branches that scratched at her body like dull knives. She hit the ground hard, knocking the wind from her lungs and almost making her black out. She fought it, though, and forced herself to her knees. Then she looked up to examine her surroundings and found herself staring at a human male who appeared to be hunting as well. "Hi." She said painfully. She searched around for her bow, finding it a few feet away. The arrow was nowhere to be seen, but she had most of the quiver still intact. The three or so missing arrows lay scattered and broken on the ground. She sighed, wiping some blood from her left forearm.
As Conall was returning to his home to grab supplies, he could hear the sound of wind among the silent woods going through the trees. This does not bother him, but the next sound of branches breaking got his attention. Suddenly, a woman fell out of the trees behind him. He turned around to see her looking up at him. "Hi", she said. He screamed and hid behind the nearest tree. The woman didn't notice him panicking, for she was too busy gathering her bow. Conall was confused and scared, but decided to engage anyway. "I... I had too much... excitement for one day. Who... Who are you?" He asked. The soft stuttered accent that came from him felt as though he's trying with as much effort as possible to be as polite as he can.
