It had been too long since the Queen had last seen her dragon.
This upset her greatly. Peter considered her his mother, after all. The first thing he saw when he first hatched. And her guilt of not seeing him ran through her significantly. A year ago, she had moved the growing dragon from the forest into a cave in the mountains. And with no guards with her, the Queen made her way up the path to her pet.
Namari wore some iron armor, with golden trimming and beautiful carvings. A light set of armor, but it wasn't a dress. She was relieved that she did not have to wear a dress while out that day.
It wasn't long before she reached the cave. It only had this one entrance, and as she entered she called out, "Peter? Where are you?" She had not seen her Dragon in months, due to being in the infirmary. And excitement ran through her veins as she realized that she would see him again.
Suddenly, she was knocked to the ground, and flipped onto her back. Her eyes went wide as something growled in her face. But, realizing what it was, the Queen grinned. The dragon above her continued to growl, before realizing who it was. It seemed to hop up with joy, licking at Namari's face as she laughed, pushing it away.
"Nice to see you again too, Peter."
The two sat outside of the cave, overlooking the cliff. You could see a lot of the forest, and part of the lake and sea. You could also see the city, which looked very small from up there.
Peter was laying down, and Namari rested her back up against him with a smile. Her legs hung from the cliff with comfort.
The dragon was full grown, but still smaller than expected, only the size of two and a half carriages. His scales were golden, shinning brightly. Muscles well-practiced, eyes bright blue watching everything around them.
Namari held a small, sheathed dagger in her hand, rolling it with her fingers. One would think she was bored, but she was honestly quite happy. Just sitting there with her dragon was wonderful- perhaps she would use some of her own money to build a home for him at the castle, so that she could see the dragon more often.
Not thinking, the dagger slipped through her hands and tumbled down onto the path below them. She scowled, getting up and jumping down to retrieve it. Once down, she picked it up. Peter's head loomed over the path as he watched the Queen try to climb the cliff.
