*Name: Harul
*Age:41
*Gender: Male
*Race: Half human half elf
Location: Traveling
Guild: none
*Class(es): Fighter
*Appearance:Harul is about 160lbs and is 5'10" tall. Harul is middle aged, but the last seven years of constant stress has taken their toll. He has gray hair filtered throughout his normally brown color and his green eyes have faded to lackluster color. He has stress lines across his face and he has a hard gaze. He has a brown mustache hiding an ugly scar on his upper lip. Another scar runs down his left eye to the start of his jawline but doesn't effect his vision. He keeps his shoulder length hair in a tight ponytail to avoid it getting in his way. He is also fairly muscular while remaining lean at the same time, giving him a slightly intimidating look. He wears a purple, sleeveless shirt made of thin strands of Mithril which gives him a decent defense against sidelong blows from swords and the like, but not direct hits. His pants are also made the same way and are held up by a purple sash not made of mithril.
He wears nearly weightless grey shoes that are tight against his feet, providing him with only minimum protection against the ground and elements. He also has two bracers given to him by his former mentor made of leather that have thin sheets of adamantium on them, providing a way to block more blows effectively. The bracers extend over his knuckles and down the first knuckle bone of his fingers on both hands, adding a little extra 'oomph' to his punches.
*About: Harul is a man who believes in justice. He relentlessly goes after people he finds in the wrong until a proper amount of justice has been dealt, whether that's giving the wronged one of their chickens or a broken leg. He made an oath to help those in need back when he was a boy being trained how to fight and has tried to keep to that oath for his entire life and has largely succeeded at it, even when he was tempted not to help some people at all.
He is trained in a form of martial arts that uses no weapons at all save for the human body itself, and due to his half elvish descent he is quicker, more agile, stronger, and has better reflexes than those who also trained under his old master. This makes him a deadly fighter in close quarters. Another part of this martial art is harnessing chi, the natural life force of living things. Harul has not yet learned how to use chi effectively and as such still trains diligently to learn it so he may be considered a true master.
*Weaknesses/Fears: Due to his nature as a CQC specialist, any sort of magic or mid range to long range weaponry immediately puts him at a disadvantage. He is afraid of not being able to exact his revenge upon his son's murderer before he dies. He is also scared of not living up to his old master's expectations or being able to keep to his oath, which could lead to him purposefully doing something foolish.
Weapons/Magic: As mentioned above, he has only his body and the bracers given to him by his master as weapons. He is deadly in CQC but nearly useless against long range fighters. He wields no traditional magic, but trains everyday in order to try and master the art of Chi Fighting. In this, he harnesses his own life energy into attacks or defenses, but has yet to be able to keep it stable enough to use it.
History: Harul was born a half breed to a poor mother who died giving birth to him. His elvish father abandoned him, preferring the bottle over a child. He was raised in the streets by a beggar, learning how to brawl to get food and shelter. His elvish half put him at an advantage in this sense, allowing him to win most of the time. One day, when he was seven years old, he ended up getting into a fight with a boy who was under the tutelage of a renowned monk. He put up a good fight and eventually overpowered the boy. About to kill him, he was stopped by this monk and beaten badly for his assault.
Later, this same monk came back to Harul and invited him to train under his master, Master Suun. Intrigued at not starving almost every day of his life, Harul accepted the offer and followed the monk to a small monastery where this monk introduced him to the renowned monk Harul had heard so much about. He chose to stay, and for the next fifteen years he trained fiercely under Master Suun. He mastered everything he was taught, except for the art of Chi Fighting. He was told he was still too unbalanced to be able to control the chi, and that he had to let go of the past. He failed at this, and ended up leaving the monastery for good. He found a life with a woman and had a son. They lived happily, Harul providing for his family by participating in local competitions.
He lived with his family, training his son in the art of martial combat. His son grew fast, becoming as tall and as large as Harul when he was only thirteen years old. This would prove to be bad thing as a jealous competitor from a past competition hired a mercenary to kill Harul. Instead, the would be assassin found Harul's family while Harul was away. His son tried to put up a fight but eventually lost. The assassin thought that they boy was Harul due to the way he fought, and ended up killing the boy because he wouldn't stop trying to fight back. Harul's wife died from a wound accidentally inflicted upon her when she tried to save her son. These last few years, Harul has been traveling the land searching for this mercenary, bent on revenge. He was sworn that he will not stop until he has found and ripped the head off of his family's murderer.
