She felt rather bad when he said no one had called him brave before. Such a small, gentle smile on his face. Really, did no one else think he was brave in what he did? She obviously thought so. Perhaps that would change now that he was in Avaleur. Many in this city could be called brave.
The Queen smiled as he confirmed that his leg was feeling better; being able to take away someones thoughts like that was amazing to her. If she could make everyone smile, she had a good day.
She watched as Lenore took Aerin's fingers, and shoved them in her mouth. Namari was about to say something in a bit of alarm, but his voice told her he was not in pain. A way to make it known she's hungry...Interesting... She placed her hand on her hip, a smile on her face.
"I have two, actually. One is off with my sister in Fidelite though. A fire gecho, Peter. I sent him off when there was war in Avaleur... I didn't want him being hurt of course. "Then I have Benny... my light dragon," her lips curved up. Thinking of her playful dragon always made her smile.
"He can be quite the handful, but, he keeps care of himself well. He's off in the wilderness. Can't exactly fit him here." Namari laughed a bit, as she sat up a bit straighter.

Aerin wondered what a fire gecko looked like. It was something he read about but never seen. In fact he never even seen any drawings of them either. He assumed the book he read that lightly touched the subject had a picture or two, but by that point he was blinded. His tutor never bothered to describe drawings, saying they were pointless and meaningless. Aerin disagreed. He still did. He found drawings lovely, even if he could only hear what they were like rather than see.
His eyes widened though when Namari mentioned her dragon.
“You have a dragon? I’ve always wanted one myself!” He said, a bit excitedly. Lenore tilted her head at Aerin, licking her lips. Aerin rarely got excited over things. This was a rare sight.
“Back in my village wild ones flew over from time to time but they never did harm. I used to have dreams that one day I’d fly with one. A bit impossible now. A dragon! How on earth can you have one?” He asked curiously. A pet dragon seemed like such a big and dangerous pet for a servant to have. “Are they hard to bond with?” He added, actually turning his head so his clouded eyes gazed at her.

Namari widened his eyes at the man's excitement, then as he finished speaking, she laughed. "My, I've never..." she laughed once more, then caught her composure once more. "I've never seen someone so excited about this..."
She cleared her throat, the large smile still on her face. "I wouldn't know how hard it would be to bond with an adult dragon. I had him as an egg. I was the first thing he saw. Basically, I'm his mother. So I'm not exactly the person to talk to about bonding. With Benny and I, it happened instantly."
She smoothed out her dress, before looking at Aerin once more. To have him watching her with glazed eyes like that was rather odd; he couldn't see her after all. Was he really that excited?
Namari smiled more. It seemed so.
"If you'd like, I could take you to meet him sometime. He's safe, a teddy bear as long as no one's hurting the people he knows." She thought back on how she was attacked in the woods, and Benny had been...rather vicious. It was a good thing, she knew she was safe with him. But it was odd. Like a bunny viciously ripping off someones limb. You wouldn't expect it.

Aerin blinked, turning his face forward again as Namari explained that she had a dragon egg and bonded with the dragon by raising it. How on earth did she come by an egg!? The idea was so exciting! Aerin only had fanciful dreams as a boy of doing that. And he wasn’t alone. Many of the elfin children wished the same thing. He used to go out with his sister on play explorations in the woods, in search of lost or disregarded eggs. Of course he nor Luella ever found any, but it was fun to dream. The idea was exciting, and to know someone actually achieved that childhood fancy was quite exciting to the blind elf.
Aerin grew silent and still when Namari offered to take him to meet her dragon. One would think he was musing deeply about this offer. In all honesty though, he was simply trying to contain his composure, since he felt like he’d burst with excitement over the idea of actually meeting a dragon. Sure he wouldn’t be able to see it’s scales or look into it’s eyes, but he’d still meet one! It was more than most of those others back home who had spent their childhood teasing him could ever say.
That is mature of you… He thought, mentally shaking his head.
“I would like that. As long as it doesn’t impose on either you or him. I’d hate to do that. I’m already enough of a burden on society as it is.” He said casually, shrugging his shoulders. Lenore frowned, reached up, a roughly poked Aerin’s cheek. Aerin batted her hand away gently.
“Oh, hush you. And don’t you tell Elle I said such a thing. She’ll give me a long lecture that’ll end with me being exhausted.” He said. Lenore lowered her hand, having decided she would tell Elle, in her own way she’d tell Elle. Lenore looked at Namari, then looked to the elf woman’s dress, which she seemed to be constantly smoothing. After a moment of staring she reached out and gripped the hem of the dress, wrinkling it. She then gave a giggle in her own true voice, which was deep and gravely and usually terrifying, depending on who heard it and how they felt about strange laughs coming from a strange child. Aerin recognized that laugh.
“Whatever she did, I apologize.” He said, reaching out to touch Lenore, who danced away from his fingers, grinning.

Namari was about to reply, with a smile on her face still. She had never in her life seen someone so excited about Benny; she could come up with no reason at all to deny this man of something he clearly wanted to do.
But Namari didn't get a chance to talk, as Lenore seemed to move towards her. Namari didn't do anything, only watch, as the bird-like girl (or girl-like bird) ruffled up a portion of her dress. Then, Lenore laughed. It was quite the odd laugh, but it didn't unnerve Namari. No, she thought the fact that Lenore was laughing at something so simple was quite charming- even if the laugh itself was odd.
The Queen couldn't help but laugh herself. After all, she didn't exactly care. Not to mention, even if she did, Lenore seemed like a mere child to her. Just playing games.
"Oh, no worries. She's just playing around," Namari turned to Lenore and chuckled a bit as she avoided Aerin's fingers. "As for imposing, nonsense. We would be happy to have you. Besides, Benny needs more human interaction. He hardly has any."

”Truly? Well it is always good to socialize one’s pet.” Aerin said with a big smile on his face. He did what he could with Lenore. The raven was naturally social, just in the prank pulling way. She enjoyed creating trouble.
“Well then, let’s call it a date then.” Aerin said, before pausing, realizing that sounded a bit forward. “I mean that in a non-romantic way of course.” He added. In fact did Namari have anyone in her life? She said she had no family, and that included no husband or children. What about a boyfriend or lover? She seemed to keep the conversation steered in a certain direction when talking about her. He couldn’t help but wonder why. Oh well. It would have been too early to bring up such intimate things in front of a stranger who you might not meet ever again anyways.
Lenore meanwhile ran around the bench a few times before she paused, spotting the guards nearby watching them. Her eyes seemed to slowly widen and a little smirk appeared. She glanced at Aerin before nonchalantly walking towards the guards. Aerin noticed her walking, but took no notice of the direction, since he couldn’t see what she was walking towards.
“When shall we set up this little meeting?” Aerin asked. He supposed that a servant of the castle that did a little of everything would be terribly busy, so he’d let her decide when it was time. It was after all her pet. Still though, why a servant would own a dragon and not anyone higher up was puzzling. Was she a higher ranking guard by chance? He might have to inquire further about her role in the castle.

Namari's smile went wider, and she had to hold in what was a mixture of a giggle and a chuckle. She had to wonder what Steele's face would look like if he had heard that; after all, she was curious. She had never seen her lover particularly jealous. Would he be at such an innocent remark?
She was so busy thinking about Steele and that date remark that she failed to notice Lenore walking towards the guards. The guards on the other hand stared at Lenore walking. Only seeing an odd little girl, they thought nothing of it. Perhaps she wanted help with something.
Namari thought intently on when she might bring this man to see Benny. It would have to be before the full moon, which was only in a few days she thought nervously.
"How about tomorrow, then? Or the day after?" she asked, thinking about her schedule. Those days seemed to be the best to work around, and she could always catch up on paperwork later. Or hand it off to Walter.
"As long as one of those days fits your schedule," the Queen added with a smile.

Lenore approached the guards and paused before them, staring at them a long moment. After a while, though it would be difficult to tell with her pure black eyes, her gaze shifted to one guard, a knife sticking out of his boot. She eyed it a long time before stepping forward and snatching the weapon from the man’s boot. She gave a child-like giggle that actually suited her body before running off, waving the knife in the air like some trophy.
Aerin took no notice. He rarely ever heard Lenore’s child voice, since it shifted from time to time, and even if he did recognize it he was too engrossed in the conversation with Namari to pay attention to much else.
“Tomorrow or the next day would be fine. I own my own potion shop, so I can take whatever liberties I like. Besides, my twin could run the place for me for a few hours if I let her. She begs me to help out anyways.” He said. Namari may not have been aware of how big this was, but Elle would have been shrieking in delight. Aerin drew a very strict line with Elle and his work. His twin was not to interfere with his work in anyway. No assisting, no interruptions, no peeking, nothing. She could tell when not to bother him, because when he enclosed himself in his very large office, that meant do not disturb. When the door was open and he was working, she could dance in singing for all he cared.
He probably wouldn’t let Elle run the shop, but it was something to say so the Namari didn’t think the little side trip would be inconvenient to him. Not that Aerin would care. He’d skip his own wedding for the chance to meet a dragon. Of course he wouldn’t have to worry about marriage now either.

(( Oh my heart just broke a little for Aerin. DON'T WORRY BABY, I'LL MARRY YOU ))
Namari smiled, ignoring the little yell of 'hey!' from one of the guards. So it was a win-win situation in all; Aerin could see a dragon, his sister would get to run his shop, Benny would get some interactions, and Namari would have a relaxing day off.
"Tomorrow it is," she laughed in delight. Her delight was short lived, as she spotted a guard running after Lenore, whom held a knife high in the air. Her eyes went wide.
"Lenore!" She called out, hoping the young one would stop. Namari herself stood suddenly, and turned her head to the guard chasing her. "Halt!" her voice was a lot more demanding now; perhaps if the guard stopped giving chase, Lenore would get bored.
the guard stopped, and swung to the Queen.
"But she has my knife!" he hollered, before going white in the face. He had just yelled at the Queen. "She's not going to do anything with it!" Namari placed a hand on her hip.
All the while, the second guard was laughing his face off, hand on the side of the wall to keep himself steady.

(Lol, didn't realize you liked him so much! Got a soft spot for virgin men with emotional walls? rofl)
Aerin gave a happy smile. Tomorrow he’d meet a dragon! How exciting! He paused though, hearing a racket off somewhere. Sounded like someone shouting and running. He also heard Lenore’s footsteps running around, and finally he noted her childish laugh. Oh dear…
And as if to clarify Namari suddenly cried out Lenore’s name. He blinked as Namari stood, the shuffle of clothing and air current telling him that much, and she called in a rather surprisingly demanding voice for someone to halt. Was she telling Lenore? He couldn’t tell what was going on.
He heard the bigger footsteps cease, and a man whined about Lenore taking his knife. Aerin sighed. Lenore…always reliable to cause mayhem. How embarrassing. Well he was used to this. It seemed Namari was above dropping him due to Lenore’s actions, but the fact that Lenore stole what was presumably a guard’s knife? That was a tad much.
Lenore laughed as the guards gave out his excuse.
“But she has my knife! But she has my knife!”[/b] She mimicked, somehow making the man’s voice sound whiny and pathetic. She slowed to a stop when she noticed the guard was no longer chasing her. Namari’s guess was correct. Lenore pouted before she squatted, poking the knife into the ground absently.
Aerin listened to this exchange, face carefully blank. After a moment he reached out, touching Namari’s waist where he had expected an elbow. Odd. He must have missed. Oh well.
“It is fine. Lenore knows her way around a knife. She won’t be too careless. However, Lenore, I demand you give the knife back and apologize this instant.” He said, Lenore looking at him. He paused. Could servants command guards? “What it is you do around here again Namari?” He asked, wondering if perhaps higher level servants could use such authority.

(( lol hey, Aerin is a damn interesting character if I ever saw one ))
Namari, as much as she felt the situation wasn't technically a laughing matter, had to hold in a laugh as Lenore repeated back to them with the guard's voice; it sounded awfully whiny. She muffled the laugh with a cough though.
Before she could say any more, a hand touched her waist. Surprised she looked at Aerin. Her arm should have been there after all, it made sense that he would do that. She thought nothing of it.
"As long as she's safe," Namari muttered, looking at Lenore, before turning to Aerin once more. She smiled, "A little bit of everything... though I'll admit that I do quite a bit of a lot of things." The Queen was being rather frank with Aerin of course; she was enjoying how things were going as they were. Learning she was Queen might change his mind after all.
The guard quickly walked up to the two elves, and bowed at Namari. "My apologies, my Lady, I let my anger get the best of me," he kept his head bowed.
Namari stared for a moment before sighing. "It's fine. I'm not expecting special treatment, you know." The guard went red, and Namari smiled. At least the situation was controlled rather quickly. Now they only had to get the knife back, which would happen eventually at least.

(Aw thanks. ^.^ And to think, I was once told that all my characters were boring and like the same person once. )
Aerin still felt confused. A little of everything and yet the guard spoke to her with high respect. She didn’t come right out and say it. He went over the information he had on Namari again. Lived in the castle, or at least worked there, did a little of everything, had great respect from the guards. What did she…
Oh my God…
Aerin felt like an idiot. She was royal. She had to be. It was the only scenario that made sense. She may have been a princess or…no Namari had no family. He could tell that she wasn’t lying about that. No family meant what? That she was the Queen? Did he really stumble upon the Queen? It made sense…that could be why she had something like a dragon for a pet.
He gave a small smile before turning his face towards the guard.
“Actually if anyone should apologize it is me. My pet adores chaos, and she seems to have selected you as a target. I apologize sir.” He said softly. “I also apologize to you Namari. Lenore seems to be finding ways to get into a lot of trouble here on these grounds. I do hope you don’t get into trouble for it. In fact, I’m not keeping you from work am I?” He asked, deciding to let the possibility of her being Queen slide. It wasn’t like he was sure, it was his best guess. Besides, if she was, she clearly wanted it hidden from him for some reason, so he’d keep it that way. Besides, she was an interesting person. And very kind. He could make a friend out of her if she wanted, and Aerin had a small supply of those as well.
Post by Namari Lovelle on Nov 12, 2013 17:04:34 GMT -5
(( Seriously?? o.o No way at all ))
Namari's head turned back to Aerin, an eyebrow raised as he apologized to the guard. The guard in turn nodded, looking back at Lenore before sighing. Namari looked even more surprised as Aerin apologized to her.
"There's no need to apologize. I was taking a break anyways, so you're not distracting me from work. And I certainly won't get into trouble," she chuckled slightly; she supposed he didn't know that she was Queen yet.
It made this more fun.
The guard looked back at them, an eyebrow raised; why would the Queen get into trouble? He shook his head clear of the thought before bowing once more. "I apologize for interrupting milady. I'll return to my post." Namari gave a nod, and the guard turned and walked back to his friend. Once there, he stood staring at Lenore. Hoping his knife would soon return to him.
The Queen's head turned back to Aerin and she smiled. "Really though, no need to apologize. Nothing to apologize for."

“Well, if you insist.” Aerin said, glad he wasn’t distracting Namari from anything important. He listened as Lenore ran about, speaking in random voices and even random languages Aerin didn’t know. He wondered, not for the first time, how old Lenore really was, and what she had seen in her lifetime.
Aerin leaned his head back, enjoying the sounds of nature, if one were to tune out Lenore playing that was.
“You are very lucky to have such a lovely place to relax in. It reminds me a little of where I came from.” He said, shutting his eyes. At least his leg wasn’t hurting so badly anymore. It always hurt, but now it was at the dullest pain it would ever get. Walking home should be easy enough. As long as it didn’t get too dark. But he had stumbled upon this place quite early in the day. He doubted it was evening yet, but then again Aerin was notorious for losing track of time.

Namari sat back down with Aerin, watching Lenore run about. A smile on her face. She imagines it would be nice to have a constant companion; even if they liked to wreck havoc every now and then.
"I must agree. Sometimes it can be crowded, but for the most part during the middle of the day it isn't bad at all," her voice seemed to hum with satisfaction, looking around the gardens. It seemed so serene to her. As if they were in the forest and not the castle grounds.
"Where is it exactly that you come from?" her eyes focused on Aerin as she waited patiently for an answer.

“Oh, a small farming community far from here. There weren’t a lot of us, but we always had great harvests. So even though it was a small village it was quite prosperous.” Aerin said. He listened as Lenore’s footsteps grew louder, then fade as she ran past the bench, swiping the knife at a butterfly that fluttered just above her reach. She stopped trying to kill it and simply continued to chase it. After a moment Aerin suddenly reached out, snag the raven, and took the knife. Lenore hardly cared. She slipped from his grip and ran after the butterfly.
“My father was a council member in that village. Also one of the head farmers. I’m glad to have been so fortunate in my family. If not I may not have gotten the special tutor I needed after my accident.” He said softly, running his hand down the blade of the knife.
Post by Namari Lovelle on Nov 19, 2013 16:21:57 GMT -5
Namari knew little to none about the way village life was. The closest she ever got was Avaleur; and it was hardly a village, even when she had first arrived. So to hear about a village being 'prosperous' was interesting to her. She knew how these things worked of course, but to really know that a village would struggle without being prosperous was an odd thought to her.
There was never a threat for that with Namari. War, yes. But thriving in general she never had to worry about.
"You seem to be quite lucky then, Aerin," Namari smiled. Then her smile grew bigger. "I should keep you around if you're this much luck," she joked, laughing. She did think of him as lucky though; surviving a carriage accident. Gaining a special tutor. The fact that he was almost hit certainly seemed as if he was not lucky, but Namari only seemed to think in the positive light.
Post by Aerin Vaettir on Nov 19, 2013 18:00:15 GMT -5
Aerin chuckled appreciatively as Namari remarked about his luck. He wasn’t so sure he was lucky, but he was aware that things could be worse for him.
“I suppose I could be lucky. I did meet a woman who has a dragon, only my most favorite animal and the creature I desired to meet the most. I never thought I would be able to.” He said, smiling. He tapped his cane a few times on the ground, gently touching his leg. “Well, I think Lenore and I have taken up enough of your time Namari.” He said, reaching out and snagging Lenore by the collar as she went to run by with eerie accuracy. Lenore looked at him, pouting.
“We should get back. I have a few things I still must do today. I thank you again for your offer and look forward to meeting your…Benny was it?” He said, releasing Lenore, who stood by obediently as he struggled to his feet. Aerin was very excited about the day to come. He couldn’t wait to tell Elle about it.
Post by Namari Lovelle on Nov 19, 2013 18:06:13 GMT -5
Namari chuckled as Lenore tried to run off, standing up herself and brushing her dress to smooth it with her hand. It was amusing to hear how happy Aerin was; being able to meet a dragon would really do it for him. She would be sure to clear her schedule as much as possible.
"Yes, Benny," she smiled. Taking one last good look at both Lenore and Aerin, she continued to speak. "Come fetch me whenever you want. Just ask one of the guards or servants to go get me, and I'll be down as soon as possible. Then we'll leave. I must admit I'm looking forward to this."
Another laugh. She enjoyed Aerin's company; she didn't get to meet anyone new that did not know she was the Queen. "It has been a pleasure meeting you," she bowed slightly, and the guards near the wall looked with confusion.
Post by Aerin Vaettir on Nov 19, 2013 18:24:00 GMT -5
“Well I am glad you are, because trust me, I am much more excited than I seem.” Aerin said. He wasn’t one to express his emotions that much to begin with. Besides, it wasn’t like he could jump for joy. He nodded as she mentioned having guards or servants fetch her. Yes, she had to be royal. Well, maybe not, maybe she was an important council woman or something. That actually seemed more probable, considering how in touch she seemed to be with people, but still. She was no mere servant.
Aerin smiled when she said it had been a pleasure, noting the shift of her voice, as it seemed to come from a lower level. Not quite the level of her sitting, so she didn’t sit down. She must have curtied or something. Aerin gave a polite bow himself.
“Pleasure was mine Namari. I look forward to tomorrow. Until then, good day and good evening.” He said, straightening. Aerin held his hand out to Lenore, who pouted and handed him the knife she was playing with. He in turn handed it to Namari. “Well then, my dear pet. Shall we go home?” He asked Lenore.
“Nevermore!” She said, using Aerin’s voice this time. Aerin laughed.
“You can’t stay here Lenore. Not unless you’re a princess and you failed to tell me.” He teased. Lenore stared at him and moment before turning and walking off a ways, pausing to look back at the male elf, waiting for him to follow.
