Toracrio had no idea how he wandered to this place. Granted it was due to taking the wrong turns here and there; he seemed to be doing that a lot recently. When he was able to see the church, he paused. Would he even be able to get close to it without something happening? He didn't think of himself as a demon; even though by birth that was what he was. He saw himself as a cursed human, the bracelets at least kept that 'curse' hidden from sight unless he started to lose control. Which wouldn't show all of it but it would still show some.
Taking a chance, he went over to the front of the church. He cocked his head as he looked at the statue. He had never seen it before, due to never being down here before. He was curious but no one was around to ask. So he kept quiet. Should he dare to get closer to the church though? Surely this was as close as he could get.
Roland had finished ordering weapons from Tetra. Organizing and sealing the trade between the two Kingdoms. Granted it was only classified as a temporary agreement that was to last no longer than the end of the month, it still put them in good light. Avaleur had been blessed with fertile lands and this year they had been projected to have a surplus, and the gear was a necessary upgrade. Some of the weapons that they had been forced to use was actually pathetic... He had even considered pitchforks at one point. Roland shivered for a moment. That was an awful idea.
Now that he had is Commanding duties done for now, and his schoolwork completed, the young man found his way to the church. Tough times were to come... Or so Seth had said... Pray for strength was something he seemed to need. Almora would guide them. She always had. She had not forsaken this land and if the Kingdom of Avaleur was destroyed it would be because they had forgotten before they where forgot.
The man found himself climbing the stairs and stopped next to someone who was admiring the statue. Or so he thought. "Beautiful, is it not? A sort of powerful serenity."

Toracrio looked at the knight surprised. He honestly hadn't expected anyone to speak to him. Course it was a public place and all sorts of people showed up here.
"I guess, I'm a poor judge of beauty." Toracrio answered as he placed his left hand on his right arm.
He honestly was, and there was no reason to deny that. After all, there wasn't much he'd seen in order to judge beauty.
(OOC: Sorry this took so long. I was trying to think of a good post for you. Sorry if it's not that good.)
((Please. You posted and that is plenty for me XD))
Roland gave a smile. "All you need to do is listen to your soul. It will tell you what you think." Roland shrugged after he had said this. "Some find it disgusting. A horrible and deceitful representation of good. Beauty is real active they say." He sighed, growing bored with artwork. That was not his strong suit and going any deeper down that road of discussion would be terribly difficult for him to do.
"Were you headed in? I don't want to keep you." He stated as he motioned toward the inside if the church. Through the archway where people gather and separated, prayed and prepared rituals, worshiped or just simply thought and watched.
Roland nodded, "not religious. I understand, I really wasn't either until..." He paused, so much had truly happened to him. "Well it was a sort of mixture of war and a dark time in which I thought I had been cast completely into the darkness. It was then when I found the light and was rescued. Since then I have been a bit more religious." Roland explained.
He began to go in. "If you never go in how will you know?" He said with a smirk.
Roland eyed the bracelets and wondered what he could mean. Was he a slave and forbidden to attend the church perhaps? He got his answer soon enough. Cursed? He thought of what sort of a curse could keep someone from the church. Walter, a demon had been seen within the walls, un-phased, and surely any evil curse would only be weakened or subdued by the amount of holiness. His thoughts then drifted to Kavanah... the poor soul. His friend who he had lost. His curse had amplified when he had entered, but surely it was not the same curse, the markings were not present.
"I don't know what curse you have, but the Demon Knight, Walter has been seen within the church, and surely, if it be any evil, it would only be weakened in such a surrounding." Roland expressed his thoughts before entering the church and turning to the man, speaking to him from within. "There is only one way to find out, and a life bonded by fear is not much of a life worth living if you were to ask me." he stated with a smile."Come on, I'll help you if anything happens alright?"

Toracrio didn't know himself. If it was evil or not, he'd never bothered trying to figure out. Considering he had these things on since he could remember, it would be assumed that it was something bad. Lowering his arms to his sides, he sighed and glanced inside as Roland entered.
Well, Roland did have a point. Toracrio didn't even really have a life to explore due to being kept hidden within this town or city. So taking a slow breath in, he took a few steps and stood in the opening on the inside. He felt fine, nothing wrong.
Roland gave a friendly laugh and patted him on the back. "See, I told you you had nothing to worry about." He was also rather relieved to find he wouldn't have to subdue some sort beast or whatever was going to happen. You know carry him all the way to the infirmary.

Well, toracrio was glad that nothing had happened. A sigh of relief had left him as he stood there. It was a good thing that nothing did. Even though he didn't know what could've happened, he had a feeling that he most likely wouldn't like it and it would be a bad thing.
Roland regained a more respectable distance from the man and outstretched his hand. "Roland Longfellow." He stated before smiling. "Now that you are in, what do you plan on doing? Did you think that far ahead?" he asked.
The man sure was nervous it seemed. Roland couldn't help but note that he seemed anxious or jumpy but shy and worried all at once. He was a hard fellow to understand this one.
"Ah don't worry too much about that though. This place is perfect for not knowing what to do. You don't really need to know." Roland didn't want to get all religious on the man. Not when they had just met, not to mention he seemed like he had had enough of it already. Instead he asked about something remotely similar. "Hey, you ever try meditation, Toracrio?" He asked. Roland was here to do just that and he didn't mind being joined.

Meditation? Hm....actually Toracrio thought he had tried that a few times before. Usually it was when he was trying to learn a new spell of some sort. There was one of the spells that he had that he was still attempting to learn and often meditating was the best way for him to try and get a hold on doing it. Course...he still hadn't succeed.
Roland nodded as he understood what Toracrio had meant. At least he figured he meant something similar to the idea of him knowing what to do and have partaken in it before but was not by any means an enthusiast.
"Ah, I see. Well I will be meditating here today and if you wish, you may join me." Roland stated.

The fact that Roland was being pretty much really nice to him had the young man confused. Toracrio wasn't sure on what he should do. It would be kind of hard to meditate here though, at least to him. Considering there were other people here and it just felt strange, he felt like he had a lot of people staring at him.
"I'm just...going to look around...okay?" Toracrio finally spoke.
Roland smiled once again and nodded, understanding. For most it was probably strange, how nice the man was. Actually it was a fact that there were several people that found his goodness extremely unsettling.
"Alright, see you around perhaps." Roland said as he left him, walking down the aisle of the church and passing through a guarded door that lead to the rooftop, a place where assassination attempts would be futile unless they could fly.

Toracrio watched Roland leave. It wasn't just the fact that the man was nice to him, it was just he was now in a place that he had no idea what to do in. He knew what a church was and what normally went on in it, but he just didn't know if he belonged here. He really didn't have a religion or anything related to it to do.
