Play-By: Picture is OC, Play-by is the Final Fantasy Hyur Midlander.
Name: Nathaniel “Nate” Gilyr
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Location: Non-Specific Country
Guild: n/a
Class(es): Warrior / Archer / Hunter
Appearance: Nate has a rather simple and plain appearance. He stands just barely 177cm(5'10in), between average and tall for his place of birth. He has a moderately athletic build with mildly toned muscles, making him weigh in at 72kg(158.7lbs). Nate has moderately tanned skin and dark brown hair that is kept rather short. His facial features are average and his face is relatively without scarring, save for a few marks here and there. His eyes are hazel green and are normally accompanied with a certain confident expression.
Nate normally wears clothing fit for travel. Wool, cotton, leather, and very little metal are typical things he wears. When armoured up for combat, his torso is the best protected. He wears a combination of leather under metal pauldrons to protect his shoulders, upper arms, and neck. His torso is protected by a leather vest and various belted accessories that hold up his quiver, as well as protective plating positioned in certain areas that do not restrict his mobility. He wears metal grieves and leather boots, as well as chain mail over the sides of his legs and cotton and leather pants underneath it all. A leather scabbard typically sits on his left hip, held in place by a belt around his waist. A quiver is normally on his back, and if on horseback it would be placed on the saddle instead. The same goes for his longbow.
About: Nate is very fun loving and, while he does have a particular serious side to him in a plethora of different scenarios, his carefree attitude usually takes priority. He actively seeks whatever adventure he can find and doesn't like staying in one place for very long, unless it is warranted to do so. He can often be a little cocky in his own abilities, but can also admit when another has bested him. In addition to this, he also has a decent head on his shoulders and a good sense of justice, though he doesn't often act upon it. His alignment could be summed up as true neutral, typically not involving himself unless he gets something out of the deal. In battle, Nate understands the importance of dominance and can be ruthless in the fray, but he rather detests killing others unless it is absolutely necessary. Other words that sum the positive side of his personality up rather nicely are compassionate, trustworthy, loyal to the right person, friendly, and unworried.
However, there are two sides to every coin. Nate can be overconfident in his own abilities if he isn't regularly humbled. He is often reckless as a product of his carefree attitude and will constantly put himself into dangerous situations without even realizing it. Although he himself is trustworthy and loyal, it can take some time for him to warm up to somebody enough to trust them himself, making him a hypocrite to some degree. He is also rather sarcastic and snarky.
Weaknesses/Fears: Nate is nihilophobic, meaning he has a deep fear of nothingness. Things he doesn't understand often make him uneasy or uncomfortable as well, and he typically doesn't involve himself in such things. Although he is skilled in the use of a sword, Nate is also a jack of all trades. While he knows many skills, he isn't particularly a master of any. His aim is mediocre at long ranges exceeding 40 meters (130ft), and it is entirely implausible that he could hit a target further than 60 meters (200ft). Nate also not only has absolutely no talent for magic, but he also has absolutely no interest in it. He acknowledges the concept exists, as there is no denying it's truth, but he has never delved into the idea of learning it. Even if he did, he would only find himself entirely incapable of learning it regardless. He just doesn't have the capacity to use magic whatsoever.

History: Born far away to both a living mother and father, Nate grew up an only child. He spent his adolescence receiving an education from his mother, who had worked as a caretaker for the royalty in their lands for quite some time. His father was a Knight who he did not often see for the majority of his childhood. As a young child, Nate spent most of his time with friends. At the ripe age of twelve, he began to work in a lumber mill. Because he was still young and rather undeveloped physically, Nate handled the menial tasks of stripping the lumber of it's bark and maintaining the tools that they had used. He also kept the mill clean, or tried to. As he aged further, Nate began to develop into a fine young man with many responsibilities. He had earned a reputation in the village they had lived in after confronting a group of ruffians who had taken up residence in the local inn. Although he had his ass thoroughly handed to him, he managed to stand his own against one of them, and forced them out due to his stubbornness and inability to stay down. After that day, his father had returned home for some months.
Nate began to learn swordsmanship under his father's tutelage and actually quite enjoyed it. He excelled quickly and could match his father in terms of strength in no time due to the time he worked in the mill. After some time, Nate took up hunting with the local guild and learned various skills under them. He already knew how to maintain equipment from working in the mill, and he already had the strength and skill with a sword to outmatch any of the lesser swordsman in the guild. However, from them, he learned how to use a bow to some extent, as well as how to prepare the game he killed. Nate also learned the basics of tracking and stealth, as well as how to ride a horse.
At the age of nineteen, Nate and his mother received word that his father had fallen in battle. Outraged by the news, Nate set out to find the killer of his father. He paid the local guild for a horse using the money he had earned from his time in the mill, packed up his sword and bow, and set out. Years passed and eventually Nate's anger and frustration subsided as he traveled. He slowly began to love the nomadic life and simply traveled the world to fulfill a sense of adventure. After he turned twenty, Nate accidentally joined a band of mercenaries after a night of heavy drinking and poor decisions. He quickly grew to love his brothers in arms and traveled with them for some time, often partaking in less than honourable tasks. Petty thievery was common amongst the guild, though Nate never partook in it. It was mostly harmless misdeeds, such as misconduct in a tavern. After some months, Nate and the band went their separate ways. He eventually found himself in Avaleur and low on coin, eager to see what adventure the city could bring.
Pets:
Tarian the horse. Nate acquired him before leaving his homeland, and the two have been together since.
