Elemental (Ice)

*Class(es):
Archer, Mage, Hunter
*Appearance:
Sophia is of average height, being around 5'5" tall. She has silver hair and deep blue eyes with a very feminine face. She is a well rounded woman, being well endowed with the body only a trained warrior could hope to accomplish. As such, she appears to be a bit on the small side except for her chest region but it is all solid muscle from her years of archery practice. She is fast to smile and has smile lines already forming at the corners of her mouth and eyes, though they don't show very much.
She wears leggings that are a purple color and are very tight to assist in moving quickly and sharply when needed and also wears a skirt that stops about where the picture shows when in public. The armor around her chest is on her constantly though she usually wears a shirt over it for discretion. She has polished bronze shoulder guards that aren't very large to lessen the movement impediment, and they reach down to her elbows on the outside of her arm. She also has a hooded cloak that goes on like a pull over which she keeps primarily because her mentor gave it to her. She also wears bracers on her forearms that are thin and light, mostly there to help protect against glancing blows.
In her elemental form, she has two appearances. The first is when she isn't using her full power, and thus gets a small coating of ice and frost on her skin and clothing giving her a crystalline look. When her elemental form is fully released, however, a layer of ice covers her body completely like armor. This greatly increases her defense, but also lowers her speed. She gets numerous small horn like ice protrusions from her head pointing backwards almost like a crown. The same happens all across her body, with the spikes facing up and differing in size. She also sends off a fine sheen of ice dust, causing light to dance off of the small particles and make her appear to shine. Many have called this form beautiful, much to her disagreement. As such, she is reluctant to use her elemental form unless absolutely necessary.
*About:
Sophia was adopted by a fellow ice elemental belonging to a nearly extinct ice elemental family when her family was tragically killed due to unknown circumstances at the age of six. As such, she doesn't really remember much about them but what she does remember is that they were very kind to her. She tries to be the same much of the time to others and as such is usually kind, forgiving, and wears a smiling face more often than not. However, she had it drilled into her by her adoptive father that sometimes kindness isn't an option. Because of this, Sophia can set aside her usual good natured self and do what needs to be done. This is usually in more serious and life threatening situations.
The cloak her adoptive father and mentor gave her also serves as an emotional giveaway. When she has the hood up, you can barely see her face from the shadow cast on it. This gives her a mysterious, yet at the same time attractive look. However, she is usually serious when the hood is up and many people make the mistake of thinking she isn't serious. If she is holding it tightly it's usually because she's upset and it brings her comfort. There are many more examples that I will give throughout roleplay as well.
Sophia also doesn't like the way her elemental form looks, believing it to make her uglier despite the name she became known by earlier in her travels. People call her the Ice Goddess, describing her elemental form to be more beautiful than what they thought possible. She is also a little girly in that she wants to meet the right man and hopes that he'll be in Avaleur, the place she wishes to make her home. She blushes around men she finds to be attractive in more ways than just looks, something ice elementals usually can't do. She also, however, tries to be modest and isn't willing to show her body off for the sake of getting ahead of the game though some women have suggested she has the figure to pull it off.
*Weaknesses/Fears:
Sophia is afraid of losing those she cares for as she had her parents ripped away from her at an early age. Using others against her can give her opponent the edge required to get close and hurt her. As such, she also doesn't know much about hand to hand or melee combat. She knows basic punches, blocks, kicks, etc, but other than that and the use of her hunting knives she's a very weak melee fighter. Even when in her elemental state, the most she could do is hit her opponent with ice.
She also hates her elemental form's look, causing her to wait to use it until she would die without it. This is true a majority of the time, thus making her weaker than she could be quite often.
Weapons/Magic:
Sophia carries a basic hunting bow with a quiver of arrows slung across her back along with a set of three hunting knives. One for skinning, one for gutting, and one for precision cutting on tougher animals. Her archery is very good, almost to the point that she rarely misses a shot on most targets. On still ones, she hasn't missed in years. That's it for her physical weapons.
Her magic is a bit more complex, so here's a nice little list:
She doesn't have very much magical power compared to other elementals, and her adoptive father estimated she had maybe 65% of an average elemental's natural pool of magic. As such, her magical capabilities aren't focused on big, destructive spells but more on smaller, much more precise ones. Her adoptive father trained her on using her ice in precise ways and how to use some of his family techniques which will be elaborated on in her history down below.
All of her abilities and spells are further enhanced, but are slower, in her elemental form(s).
Abilities:
Because she's an elemental trained in precision, she can create small to medium sized objects fairly easily. These range from needles to arrows to a bow if the necessity should arise. As an ice elemental, she also has the ability to freeze water and also turn the ice back into water though this is greatly diminished compared to a water elemental's ability.
Spells:
Sub-Zero: This spell is a passive one, allowing her the unique ability to control her body temperature and get it to a similar temperature to a human being though not quite(about three degrees short). The initial startup of this part of the ability consumes a bit of magical power but is easily sustained after achieved. A lot of training is required in order to do this and not get sick and pass out, however, and she only recently accomplished this goal within the last three years. The other half of this spell is the ability to lower the temperature of the area within a ten meter diameter with Sophia as the center. She can lower the temperature of this area drastically, down to -80 degrees Fahrenheit at her peak though the colder she gets the more power it consumes. Being an ice elemental and immune to the cold is the only reason she can survive this, but another drawback is that the lower she goes the harder it is for her to move. She is still training this, hoping to achieve her master's level of ability; absolute zero.
Frost Shot: This spell is an offshoot of Sub-Zero. This spell allows her to make small amounts of ice infused with pure magic. This can be in the form of an ice ball or other small object, usually her favorite source of fighting which is an arrow. Knives are also possible, but she rarely does that. When the chunk of ice makes physical contact with something after leaving her immediate area, it transforms the magic into a miniature version of the Sub-Zero spell with an area of effect of three meters. However, the lowest possible temperature with this spell is -10 degrees Fahrenheit.
History:
When Sophia was six years old, her parents went missing and were presumed dead. That's what she was told, anyways, and that saddened her greatly. She had nice parents and lived a good life. She wasn't rich, nor was she poor, but she had been happy. After a couple weeks with a surrogate family, she was adopted by a travelling ice elemental that made his home elsewhere in the Misty Mountains. She followed her adoptive father home, where after a year of living peacefully with him he offered to teach her to defend herself so that what happened to her parents wouldn't happen to her or anybody she cared about. Sophia agreed almost instantly. For the next fourteen years, her adoptive father trained her in the cold mountains, teaching her his family's Sub-Zero technique. She learned how to increase her body temperature gradually, eventually reaching the point where she could go into human towns and people would think she was one of them.
He taught her archery, noting that she wasn't large and thus wouldn't be a good physical fighter. She trained relentlessly with both magic and in archery, tending to favor the bow more than the spells. She knew that she wasn't able to do the higher level spells and techniques as well or as long as other elementals would be so she decided with her master to master and make more precise the smaller ones. When she was twenty-one years old, her adoptive father pulled her aside and talked with her. He told her that there was nothing more he could teach her and that she would have to improve herself which confused her. She hadn't mastered Sub-Zero yet, so she thought that her adoptive father could teach her more. However, it turns out that her adoptive father only had a month or so to live after contracting a deadly virus that thrives in cold weather and feeds on the magic within everybody. It ate it away until it was gone, starting on the life force of the individual afterwards. Giving her a cloak as a late birthday gift, she stayed with him for his final days.
When he passed, she cried for days without eating or drinking. She barely slept, but had a frame of mind right enough to bury him in the cold earth he had loved. After her mourning was done, she packed what she could and left her home. She visited nearby towns, asking those she had befriended over the years where to go and what to do. She took up hunting, selling her first few kills to get her knife set. She continued to live like that, hunting to live, skipping from inn to inn until she found herself in a curious land owned by the kingdom of 'Avaleur'. People said many things ranging from its glory to the nearly constant state of duress it was in. Sophia decided that she would look into this kingdom and its namesake city after hearing of a Hunter's Guild, something she thought she would do well in. A place to stay, to make constant money instead of having to worry. Maybe a chance to find love, as well.
