Meryl fell into another moment of quiet contemplation of what she had spoken, his hand absently traveling to the mark on his face. Dark magic...my kind...maybe...I could delve into the dark arts... his eyes perhaps reflecting to much of his thoughts for Elle to read into them. Meryl kissed her cheek softly and smirked to her. "That's the thing love. This mage was only one grand wizard...grand as he may be he is only one....I am gonna bring together all the mages I can find...weak or godly...and if we put our magics together....well...then again you're right. I wont mention it and get his hopes up until we find something for sure. But I'm not giving up." Said Meryl just wanting to help her brother sincerely.

He ran his fingers over the scrolls and tapped the top of the tower on the blueprints and a magical image rose up giving a three dimensional showing of a glowing sphere of blue energy with brilliant golden rings floating around it. "This will make it possible hopefully...the Grand Arcanum...it will combine all the knowledge and magical abilities of all the mages within into the Arcanum. Infinite power and a record...once its made perhaps...maybe...we can..." Meryl's eyes sharpened in a serious manner as he thought about how to apply a magic tool he had not yet made to healing her brother.

Meryl's eyes flashed for a moment with a slightly darker look and he grinned to Elle in a devious manner. "Well, we cant let the bastard just run free without a little justice. Lets go make him pay hm?"  He cooed to Elle leaning in to kiss her lips and playing the part of a bad boy. "I will crush all his bones and will find the same cart he used and find the curse that was put into it...whaddya say?"

Elle tilted her head. Multiple mages? Of course! Why hadn’t they ever thought of that? No one in the village practiced magic save for Valerian, who was technically an outsider, and Aerin learn from him primarily. Why hadn’t they considered finding other mages, or even a group to collaborate? It wasn’t like they were hurting for money, so they would have been well compensated. Even with her own warnings, Elle felt a glimmer of hope. Could they restore Aerin’s sight? Maybe even give him back his ability to walk? Could her twin live a life without pain again?

Elle gasped as an image suddenly rose from the scroll. An orb of some kind. As Meryl explained what it was, she reached out to see if she could touch the image, or if her hand would pass through it.

“So it’ll be like a compact library?” She asked, finding the idea a rather great one. Every major city could put one of these to use. Elle turned to Meryl as he leaned in close, half shutting her eyes as he kissed her, before pulling back and talking of justice. She blinked before chuckling.

“Meryl, that was years ago. No one ever saw that carriage again, and no one even really knew what it looked like really. Big and black, maybe with some runes on it. How can you find it?” She asked, head tilted. Elle hadn’t ever seen the carriage, when she turned around after Aerin shoved her out of the way, the first thing she saw was a giant spatter of blood in the dirt. Aerin recalled only the horses, when pushed for information, and the few elves who saw the incident said the carriage was black, with maybe some markings on it.

AS she hand touched the image it would ripple and distort feeling like cool water against her hand, Meryl didn't dispel the image as she touched it. "Yes but soooo much more then a library." Meryl whispered to her resting his forehead against hers softly and pouted again for a moment after losing the chance to get back at the villain.

"I...uh...er...ok fine. We'll work on that plan a little later but I promise you, we will get that carriage and run the bastard over it and make him spend years suffering. Then we'll paint the carriage pink and you can keep all your hunting gear in it!" Said Meryl holding her chin with a smrik as he waved his hand for two more mugs of ale for them. A smile tugging at his features as he watched Elle noticing how far they veered off from their date. Though this was not a bad thing their encounters always leading to something interesting and this was no different.

He could see the hope shimmering in her eyes and Meryl stretched showing off his strange flirtatious idiocy once again. "And when we get him all better you'll be my trophy wife and we can adventure together." Cooed Meryl with a larg grin on his face as he winked at her.

The elf giggled a bit, draining her mug before looking back to Meryl. He was certainly fired up about her brother. Maybe he and Aerin would get along fine.

“Pink? I’m not the kind of girl who likes pink. Maybe a forest green so it’ll blend in.” She said, watching a couple leave the pub, arms wrapped about each other. “Or you can cast a glamour that will let it blend in with any environment. For when I hunt in the winter.”

She smirked at Meryl as he declared their pending adventures. He was pretty fixed on the idea of marrying her.

“I don’t know about marriage but going off on an adventure sounds fun. And if Aerin could at least walk maybe he’d get the courage to make a move on Namari.” She said, shrugging, and thanking the waitress who came over with another set of mugs for the two.

Meryl laughed and nodded quickly noticing the couple himself memorizing how the male had his arms around the girl planning to do the same to Elle now. He began to notice how hard he was trying and sighed in defeat with a small smile on his face maybe it wasn't so bad.

"Forest green and a glamour, understood my queen." Said Meryl with a wink as he stroked his chin and took the new mug in his hand and took a large gulp before looking to Elle again. "Fine, just adventures for now then!" He snickered softly and nodded quickly. "Ooo! Then double dates! And....oh...damn....he is your brother so that would be unacceptable..." Said Meryl with a devious grin on his face.

Elle laughed. “Are you kidding? A double date? If Aerin actually went out on a date with Namari, he’d be so over the moon he’d hardly notice us!” She said, laughing again before taking another drink.

“It’s a shame he won’t let me interfere. I could speed things along. But this is the first time he’s been really interested in anybody. I guess I should be grateful enough for that. Trying to hook him up with some friends back home was just one disaster after another.” She said, shaking her head.

Meryl snickered and it erupted into a full laugh. "Which makes it all the more fun!" Said Meryl with a devious grin on his face, he glances over Elle for a moment and taps his chin. "We can drug them up and send them to an inn!"

"When has that ever stopped the great Elf Queen Elle! He wont let you but you shall anyway! Disasters are just failed test skills!" With a large smile on his face.

“Oh, dear. Don’t even joke about that!” Elle laughed when Meryl suggested they drug the two elves and shove them into an inn room. Tempting, but she had a notion neither Aerin nor Namari would much care for that. Aerin going on a date would make him soar. Who knew what would happen if we threw him and a naked woman together.” She giggled again before drinking from her mug. She looked up at the ceiling a moment, finger on her chin, looking thoughtful.

“Though he is my twin. I bet he’s secretly a natural in the bedroom. Guess we’ll never really know till he actually finds someone.” She said, shrugging. And when that day came she’d make him spill his guts in every detail. Of course men were less likely to share explicit details with woman in regards to these things, but she’d find a way.

She lifted her mug and drained it, setting it back on the table and sighing. After a moment or two she gestured for the waitress to come over. “I think I’ll be wanting that meal now.” She said, smiling at Meryl. And then afterwards they could go off and find Aerin and Lenore, and see if the raven had an idea as to what was going on with her master.

"He would finally be a man! Feel like an amazing man!" Snickered Meryl trying to resist his coming laughter, when she mentioned the bedroom he glanced up at the ceiling with dreamy eyes. "Oh yeah...if he is anything like you...dear god she'll be a happy woman."

Meryl nodded slowly and looked back at Elle with a bright smile on his face. "Alright then love! Order to your hearts content, I am treating you to the finest things in life!" Said Merly with a happy tone in his voice rather looking forward to the evening and events to come though not exactly incticipating how bad things could go wrong.

He stol a kiss from her lips with a rather large grin on his face as he winked to her. "You need a full stomach if I am to seduce you after saving your brother."

“Yeah maybe he would feel like a man. At least he wouldn’t be so stiff. And Mama would quit asking me in her letters if Aerin was gay or not. I don’t have the heart to tell her he’s bisexual, even though Aerin doesn’t care if I do or not.” Elle said. He admitted to being bisexual, but Elle would never know how Aerin really knew that. It wasn’t like he ever experimented in any way. She supposed it was something he knew. And yet he still remained single his whole life, even when he liked both sexes. It was amazing really. She turned to Meryl, smirking, and poking his cheek. “No seducing my brother. Not that you’d be able to break his shell, but keep your charming self to yourself.” She joked.

The waitress came over and Elle order some meat, not picky about what kind, and Elle polished off her second mug of ale. She laughed as Meryl stole a kiss, then mentioned something about seducing her after saving her brother. “Like I said, he’s a tough shell to crack. Saving him may not be as easy as you think.”

Meryl playfully bit at her finger and gave her a wink. "Fine fine, I will just keep my charms on you then Elle dear~." Meryl cooed softly to the elf woman and fell silent so she could order her meal, Meryl took this time to free up his wallet from his belt and set it on the table. "No shell is to hard to crack for the great Meryl! I loosen all up and they drop their undergarments for me!" Said Meryl in a triumphant tone before giving her another wink.

"Though at the moment I'm more focused on one girls undergarments dropping for me for the time." He whispered and flashed her a playful grin. "We will crack through his wall."

Elle smirked, listening to Meryl and watching him as he essentially puffed up like a stud and bragged. It was cute, but she couldn’t help but wonder if either Meryl was truly able to get through to Aerin, one way or another, or if he was greatly underestimating Aerin’s ability to clam up. She could only hope that the two males would get along enough for her sake. Since she loved one and was rather fond of the other.

“Well, I hope everything goes well. At least you won’t have to meet my parents anytime soon. If you’re nervous about Aerin, wait till you encounter Daddy.” She said, giggling, before thinking it over. “I mean, it isn’t like you will, well, not anytime soon…” She murmured, realizing she sounded like she was assuming Meryl and her would progress much further in their relationship. It wasn’t safe to send those signals this early, in her opinion.

“Anyway, aren’t you going to eat anything?” Elle asked, quickly shifting the conversation away from her family. Meryl would get plenty of that later, but now she wanted to be here for them.

Meryl once again let his mind began to wonder about the future specifically theirs, would they progress? Would they crash and burn? Would he hurt her? Would she run? So many questions and scenarios playing through his eyes. Until one vision finally settled in his mind and to be honest it was not something he was afraid of anymore.

"Oh, your dad is gonna kill me when the time comes." Was all he said hinting at his own small hope and giving her the smallest glance and smile. He tapped his chin softly and nodded slowly ordering himself the same meal she had gotten. "Well I suppose I have to eat to make this count as a date~"

Elle gave Meryl a little relieved smile when he finally replied. Good, she hadn’t assumed too much. And he saved her from babbling like a moron, too.

“My advice would be if he punches you, take it like a man, and use no magic.” She said, giggling. “He’d probably respect you after that. A little. But who knows? Maybe he’d like you. That’s what I would hope for.” She drank down some more of her ale before sitting back against her chair.

“So, how does one qualify to be in your mage’s guild? Do people have to take a test or can anyone who wants to learn get in?” She asked, deciding to dive back into the topic of Meryl’s guild. After all, it was a pretty big deal, creating a guild and all.

"No magic? I...well...I don't..." Said Meryl stroking his chin as he thought about it for a moment, sure he had been punched before but he wasn't keen on letting another hit him again. "Right. Fair enough then! Take it like a man, spit out the blood and ask, 'please sir, can I have some'ore?'" he snickered with a smirk on his face, "Don't you worry, I will make him like me."

Upon her next question Meryl took on a bit more serious look and leaned back in his chair and holding his chin. "Well, anyone with an affinity for magic. That will qualify you to take an entrance exam. The exam will determine if you are of sound mind and body with no evil intent in your heart. The exam also tells us what type of magic will suit you and what classes will be needed to progress and learn. Though there are exceptions, like being recommended by the Queen or her council. And the biggest exception is if you are sleeping with me and letting me keep your under garments. You have to be a female elf though." Said Meryl with a nod seeming rather serious about it.

Elle listened as Meryl spelled out the qualifications. They seemed right enough. It seemed you had to have some level of magic to get in, so that would exclude completely new people. She liked the bit about having good intentions, but she was of the opinion that the worst things in the world were done with the best intentions in mind. She looked at him when he mentioned sleeping with him as an exception to the rule. She blinked before laughing.

“Oh, well it sounds like I’m rather qualified.” She said, giggling. “But I think I’ll let you keep the guild thing as your own completely.” She said, looking up as the waitress came with their food.

“I don’t have to be around all the time. If you want a pretty elf around you’ll have to ask Aerin to join.” she joked, pulling her plate closer to her, inhaling the scent of cooked meat, her mouth watering a bit.

"Oh drat you discovered my plot to lure you in!" Said Meryl with a soft grin on his face as he starts to eat when the plate is put before him, when she mentioned that he'd have to settle for her brother he looked up imagining the scene. "...well. I can make it work, wont be as sexy." Snickered Meryl winking at Elle.

"Now now love, you're drooling~ Eat!" Said Meryl tilting his head to the side to watch her before taking another bite of his food. "Well it seems I've run out of things to chat your ear off with..." He said at a loss rather surprised at himself never having had this problem before.

Elle took Meryl’s advice, sliding her plate closer before picking up the hunk of meat between her fingers, ripping off a little chunk, and popping it into her mouth. It looked better than it tasted, though it wasn’t that bad. A bit bland in her opinion, but it would do. As an elf she had a higher taste than many, and as an educated, rich elf it was even higher. She was very used to fine cuisine. But it wasn’t like she couldn’t appreciate food like this. She had worse when camping out in the woods during long hunting trips. But that was back when she was learning how to cook. Now she could make a gourmet meal out of anything.

Elle looked back to Meryl, tearing off another bit of meat and chewing it. She looked a tad amused at his slightly surprised look. It seemed he usually had all kinds of things to say to girls. Guess she was one of the lucky ones, wasn’t she?

“We could play the ‘get to know you’ game I played as a child.” She suggested. “It was meant to be a way to get to know a stranger, but I’d play it with the other girls as a game. You’re supposed to ask one question, and the other has to answer honestly, then they can ask a question. Any question at all.” She smiled, remembering games between her and the other elfish girls, giggling and asking who liked what boy and why. It was always a fun way to dig up secrets.

Meryl took a couple more bites from his own meat and began devouring the meal like he was a street urchin having finally been given his meal for the week. A pleased look in his eyes as he looked to Elle, any meal he got he enjoyed and there were very few things he thought didn't taste good enough to eat.

"Oh that sounds like a fun game! I'd enjoy learning more about my sweetest Elle!" Cooed the Halfling as he watched the beautiful elf before him. "You go first my love! Go ahead anything is open for picking!" Said Meryl clapping his hands together.

Elle blinked, watching Meryl practically inhale his food. Well, either he was absolutely starving or this was just an eating habit he picked up along the way in his life. It was rather amusing but also kind of…well, she wasn’t sure how to describe it.

She nibbled on her food for a while, thinking up of a question. Something simple and easy, before they dove into anything serious, if that was the direction they’d go in. After a moment or two she turned to look at Meryl, licking at her fingers.

“Okay, who was your biggest idol growing up?” Elle asked, before waving the waitress over to get another refill on her ale. She’d need plenty more for this meal.
