"It doesn't really matter who he fought with." Phillis said. He didn't want to spread the information, in case Steele didn't want anyone to know. "It just matters that he gets better."
Arkelse was about to go ask the front desk woman if she had any clue how long of a wait it would be, but as soon as he stood a doctor came in and said, "He's stable, still has some minor wounds but whatever you did angel, really helped. You guys may see him now." with that he turned down the hallway, Arkelse followed.
Kavanah walked into the room that Steele was in. Steele laid on the bed still unconscious, but he did look much better. Kavanah took a seat in the corner, he decided to wait awhile, see if woke up soon.
Arkelse sat next to Kavanah but then saw there were only two chairs in the room. Knowing that the other man was probably much more tired than himself, he offered his seat to him and stood against the wall by Steele's bed.
"Alright, maybe I'll see you around. It was nice to meet you formally, although the circumstance was unfavorable." Kavanah says as he waves goodbye to Phillis.
Steele's eyes slowly began to open. He had bandages across of his body and one across his face where Balius had clawed him. "Oi my fuckin' head." He says rubbng his head before looking to see where he was. Waking up and seeing two angels in a hospital room did not help at all. "I knew it...I'm dead."
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
"He's right, you did come quite close there, you were quite strong though to hold on," Arlelse says with a smile. He was glad Steele was going to be alright, but then something about the voice hit Arkelse. He was that wolf from the alley! Arkelse was shocked,"Ha......have we met before Steele?"
Steele sighed relieved that he hadn't died but he was panicked to see the angel he talked to in the alley there. "Ay....-er'" He hesitated for a moment. "Nay, can't say that we have bonny lad." He lies. He definitely wasn't in the best of positions to fight or argue. "Why have ye' seen me aroond thee toon' er somethin?"
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Kavanah wanted to talk to Arkelse about finding his sister, but he looked around and saw it might be awhile before he had time. And time is what he did not have. He decided he would go his tribe and ask them to cure him like Namari had suggested. "Well, I best be going." he said. "get well soon Steele, Arkelse we should talk later." he nodds his head to them and walks out of the room. He walked outside, the rain had died down. Looking towards the mountains he spread his wings and flew toward his village.
Arkelse wondered what Kavanah wanted to talk about but turned back to Steele, "Excuse for asking, but can you change into a wolf?" Arkelse timidly asks.
"Come easy now' kidder, din't be ridiculous, who could possibly turn into a wolf?" Steele tried to play dumb but if one was close enough they could smell the scent of wet dog coming off of him. "But thanks fir' pullin me out of thee Ald Nick's grip there, ye really saved my hide."
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Arkelse was skeptical about Steele's answer but pushed no further. "It was no problem, I just feel bad I was unable to heal all of you, some scarring will be inevitable." Arkelse said.
