Enoch had been in the cell for several hours. The knights had foolishly left him unattended and with his daggers still on him. He shook his head, "They will learn," he said to himself.
For most of the time that he had been in the dungeon, he had picked a large stone plate on the wall and started to loosing it from it's fixture. He dug into the wall with his dagger until his hand hurt. Finally he felt it loosen up. He smiled, "That's all I need to do, now I can take a break." He sighed as he laid down and looked out of the window close to the ceiling. He had tried that earlier, but it was protected by magic.
Stacy scurried through the dusk, wearing a black sweater, her hood on. While no one was watching, she circled the tower, looking for Enoch's cell window. She found it behind a small bush. Hiding in the bush, she grinned, spotting the man. "Enoch, hey! I heard you were in here, so I decided to help you out!" she dropped her bag on the ground, awaiting an answer from him.
For a second he lay there thinking he had gone crazy. 'Did i just hear what i thought i heard?" he thought. He stood up and looked up into the window. He smiled as he saw the moonlit face of Stacy. "What are you doing here?" he whispered.
"I'm here to break you out. No friend of Stacy the explorer get's left behind!" she raised a fist in the air, and grinned cheekily. As she grabbed out a book from her bag, she frowned at Enoch. "So...I heard you started that riot not long ago..."
Enoch smiled at first but then when she mentioned the riot it turned to a frown very quickly. "I am afraid so. I wish I could say something to you that would make it all right...... But I can't."
Stacy stared at the man for a minute, before slowly stating, "I'm not mad at you...more...dissapointed than anything." Flipping through the book, she grinned. "Ahh, here we go! A spell disabler! You're lucky my cousins love magic, else I wouldnt know how to get you out. Lets see..."
Stacy placed the book down, and put both of her hands down onto the bars. Closing her eyes gently, her hands began to glow a light pink. The spell to get rid of the magic guarding the window seemed to slowly be dissapearing. Until, that is, Stacy lost her concentration.
The spell guarding the window retracted upon her, making her shoot out from the bush and land harshly onto the ground a fair bit away. "Owwie!" she complained, rubbing her bottom. Rushing over to the window, she laughed, "Sorry, I lost my concentration...magic is hard to do when your mind wanders!" Stacy rubbed the back of her head, embarrassed.
Enoch would rather of had her be mad at him than disappointed. That hit him hard. He looked at the ground. He had nothing to say.
Stacy flung out of sight, "Stacy!" Enoch jumped up and hung on the ledge pulling himself up to try and see if she was alright. She rushed back over. He laughed a little, "Don't do that to me."
"Sorry, it's not like I meant to do it!" she laughed, placing her hands on the bars again. This time, she suceeded, and the magic on the bars withered away. "Okay, stand back, I don't want to burn you. It's very hot!" Stacy created a tiny ball of fire in her hand, pure white. Very small, but created an unreal ammount of heat.
Stacy placed her hand almost against the bar. The fire was inbetween the middle bars. Stacy strengthened the heat of the fire, and the bars started to melt. Once the bars were melted away, Stacy got rid of the fire. "There! I think you could probably climb through that..." she said as she placed a cooling charm around the melted window.
Enoch smiled up at Stacy, "Ok be up in a second." he called as he paced himself back and ran towards the window. He jumped, caught onto the ledge and flipped out of the dungeon. The flip was mostly to show off for her.
He stayed close down to the ground and slowly made his way over to Stacy. "Thanks, but you do know what you did right?" he asked her.
He smiled, "Ok, as long as you are ok with it. Oh hold on, I need to do something." he jumped back into the jail. He took out his knife and began to cut himself and smear it on the walls and floor. He write a message on the wall. 'This is what will happen to all who betray Paineston.'
He wrapped his wounds and climbed out. "Ok, I'm ready to go."
Nodding, Stacy quickly lead the man away from the tower. Once they were in the safety of the darkness of the alleys, Stacy turned and asked, "What was that message about?
"I am going on a mission tonight Stacy. This mission will turn my life around. It will be my new life. After tonight I won't kill anymore people for unjust cause." he sighed, "I will betray Paineston, but it's worth it. The message is to make it seem as though they killed me and will clear your name even more." he said.
Enoch still hurt inside, it felt as though she was so disappointed. It killed him to think about it. "I am sorry, but for your safety I should probably not tell you until it is done with. If anything happened to you because of it I would never forgive myself." he frowned, he didn' know what to do. To him it seemed as though there would now be a gap between them that he could never repair.
"...alright...but you have to tell me after." Stacy nodded, turning again and walking down the alley. She didn't mean to show him that she was dissapointed, but she was never good at holding in her emotions.
Enoch looked at Stacy, if things went wrong he may never see her again. He decided to be bold. "Stacy! He ran up to her. Sorry you can slap me for this." he took a deep breath, but chickened out. He leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.
A small blush rose up onto her cheeks. She lightly touched the cheek the man had kissed, and she giggled. "What was that for?" she asked, still smiling widely.
