Ryn stretched at the arena. Today was the big day he'd been waiting for and he was excited, on top of that, he was facing his former opponent Rio, who had improved a lot since they're first meeting. Ryn hopped up and down getting warmed -up, making sure he had a game plan going into the fight. Their fight was early in the morning, but citizens of Avaleur already began filling the seats in the stadium. The crowd would grow more as the day would go on. He smiled, it was just like being back at home.
Rio walked into the stadium. Her nose had healed and she was prepared to fight again. She was wearing an outfit, as usual, black, tight and a little skimpy so that she may move faster without it getting caught on anything.
She saw Ryn and smiled. " So we meet again." she greeted. They still had some time before the fight to talk and prepare.
Ryn's ears perked up upon hearing Rio's voice. He smiled and waved to her, then teleported over to her. "Rio good to see you again." He was glad her nose healed up. He took a look at the small crowds of people coming in. People of all types too. "Some crowd huh? You'd think barely anyone would be here this early." He chuckled.
"I'm surprised that I'm even here this early," Rio said with a laugh. " I guess this is a pretty serious competition after all. I just joined for kicks."
Ryn nodded his head. "Well the match doesn't start for another ten minutes, I wonder who's all going to be at this tournament, I hear they have a werewolf and a knight in it." He shadow boxes the air practicing his jabs.
"Woah, how elite." Rio judged, sarcastically. "They also have a kid with amnesia, a few criminals and the vampire who caused the massacre. Should be an interesting event." She stretched her arms. " I overheard when they discussed starting this event. I guess everyone wants to be king."
"They have criminals competeting to be king!? What kind of tournament is this?" Ryn laughed. "I guess that's why they're all here." He looked at the crowd. "They want to see if they're going to have to leave or not." Ryn never realized how important this tournament was.
Just then a middle aged mand with a thick mustache walked in wearing a black T shirt, black pants, black shoes, and black gloves. "Hey Jack." Ryn waved. Jack just nodded his head and gestured for the two of them to come over.
Jack just nodded his head. Like at the pub, he was silent and always stuck to his work. He was a man of few words. "Alright, erm, this is the tournament of Avaleur, you two are the first fight. Keep your hands up at all times and put on a good show for the crowd. You go till one of you gives up, or one of you is unable to defend yourself. Do you have any questions for me? If not shake hands and let's get started.
Ryn smiled back and shook her hand. "The same to you, Let's get fight of the tournament." He said and headed to his side of the arena as Rio went to hers. Jack came to the middle. "Alright, you may begin when ready." The crowd cheered eager to see the fight.
Ryn was surprised as the punch hit him square in the face, he stumbled back before using his footclaws to retain his balance. A bit of blood fell from his lip. "Heh." He chuckled. "Nice move." He said spitting to the side. His tail started to sway. He started sprinting towards Ryn and just before reaching her, teleported behind her, barging her with his shoulder from behind.
Rio was caught by surprise, her whole body spun around quickly, she was now facing Ryn face-to-face. She laughed grimly. " You really don't hesitate." she shouted, loud so that the audience could hear. She acted as if this was just a show they were putting on, trying to steal the spotlight.
She took a few steps back, and charged at Ryn, she jumped up, her two legs tight together as she came down quickly in a hard kick.
Ryn put his arms up to guard it but the shear force of that powerful kick made him stumble back again. "Sheesh you've really gotten powerful." Ryn says loud trying to entertain the crowd. The crowd cheered at the two of them. Ryn smiled, at least they were giving them their money's worth. "Try this on for size." Ryn says charging up a massive lightning ball. "Hrrrrarrghh!" He yells launching it at her.
Rio gasped, she quickly got onto her knees to dodge it but it was too big for her and forced her back. She fell back so far she almost hit the arena wall. She jumped up quickly, she couldn't waste any second, time was too precious.
"Wait until you get a load of this!" she said, parts of her body were burnt, but her adrenaline rush wouldn't allow her to feel the pain. She clasped her hands together, yelling loudly, as the ground around Ryn exploded with a bang! It blasted high up into the air and back down again. The move took only a second, but the effect seemed almost like it was in slow motion.
The heat from the explosion was intense. It blew the right side of his tenchcoat off. The debris pelted him, they were like mini bullets hitting him. It was a serious attack. Ryn had been blown into the air and hit the ground hard. The crowd was on their feet from the attacks that just took place. They roared in applause. Ryn groaned getting up. "I've heard of anything can happen in fight but this is ridiculous." He joked. His arms had cuts on them from trying to block the debris. Another attack like that would be a disaster for him. "Alright then." He grabs his sword. This arena was getting torn up. He charges the sword with lightning and hurls it towards Rio. Quickly he sends smalls blasts of fire slightly above the sword in case she tried to jump.
Rio was waving to the crowd, soaking up the glory. The crowd was going nuts. " You're quite serious now, aren't you?" she grinned. Rio didn't know how to get around the attack, she got down on the ground and rolled out of the way. However, she underestimated the size of the fire, as it grew larger and more dangerous as she got blasted. For a brief second her thigh was on fire, she reacted quickly, smacking it out. It was still burnt.
Rio brought her hands up high and smashed them down, as she did, the ground indented so far that she almost fell into her own trap. She had to make sure it would trap Ryn, the trick would quickly wear off because she'd only used it few times. The ground was beginning to sink down, almost like quicksand, creeping towards Ryn, he would only had a few brief seconds to plan how to get around it.
Ryn was breathing heavily, the attacks had begun to take their toll on him, and he began to show signs of fatigue. He lowered his arms. Looking at Rio who was grinning. "What's she so happy about?" He muttered. Suddenly he felt his paw sink into to something. He looked down, his paw was literally sinking into the ground. "Crap!" He yelled. The crowd looked on as a winner could be decided. Ryn couldn't teleport while being held. Not without ripping a limb off. He had to get out of this and there was only one way to do that. It would put him in a state of exhaustion though. He didn't have a choice. He takes a deep breathe and expels a massive force of energy around his body. The panic attack but a massive dent in over half of the arena they were at. Some sand even flew into the crowd, who didn't mind with all the action going on. He did this with Roland when they fought the Hydra in Pine Forrest. The sand stopped sinking, mostly because they're was no longer much sand to sink into. Ryn fell to his knees breathing very heavily. His vision went blurry for a moment and his muscles became stiff, that attack took everything out of him. He trembled to his feet, he had to finish this.
"Get up!" Rio yelled to him, as she looked at her nails as to express her boredom. " The show must go on!" The crowd cheered, laughing, yelling, all kinds of emotions were expressed. The crowd was enjoying the fight, it was like a sweet drug to them.
