Ryn chuckled. She was right, the show must go on. He takes a deep breathe to regain his composure. "Can't get caught like that again." Ryn says to himself. He gets his guard up moving in closer to Rio. He shoots for the double leg take down, he wanted to fight in ground control.
Rio couldn't help but grin. He's a strong kid, at least. She noticed him going for the take-down and quickly attempted to kick him out of the way, but she under-estimated his power level and was taken down.
She had to make sure she would dominate the fight, allowing yourself to be the one of bottom was dangerous. She quickly rolled his body over so that she'd be on top, using the control of her hips and elbows, a move she had learnt to defend herself with.
Still sitting on him, Rio clasped her hands together, getting ready to use her exploding technique again. This meant Ryn had a few seconds to quickly react or else the result would be terrible.
Ryn was very surprised at how much vitality Rio had. What he thought would be him on top, she used Judo do place him at the bottom. She put her hands together for a hand sign, big mistake, she could have won the fight simply by placing a knife to his neck or knocking him unconscious. Ryn wasn't about to let this oppurtunity go to waste, but he didn't want to scorch Rio face off either. Using a move he trained with Roland, he blew a small bit of fire at Rio. Not enough to scar her for life, just enough so she'll have to get off.
The smoke was enough to make Rio jump back. She hadn't any weapons, so her little bit of magic was her only hope. She patted her face to get rid of the fire, she could not open her left eye any longer, as it stung too much to try. She placed her hand over it. " I thought you were done for. You've improved."
Rio took a few steps back, wobbling a bit. " You're not someone to underestimate." she said, using her hand signals again. This is my last hope. She thought. "Exuro hostis BUTIO DISPLODO!" she yelled in latin, a language she knew few words of. The ground shook, even the people in the audience began to shake. " BUTIO! DISPLODO! BUTIO! DISPLODO!" the ground shook even harder, making it hard for anyone to stay still. She had to remain in concentration, this was her most effective move and took all her energy.
Ryn stumbled around already weak from his attack to get out of her first trap. "What is she doing?" He muttered. The audience members began to cheer, to them, this was like being on a roller coaster or watching a 4-D movie. Ryn couldn't stnad-up without getting shook around like crazy.
Rio had to plan this next part carefully, as the ground continued to shake, she ran full speed towards Ryn. She had to stay concentrated in order to not fall over or break the spell, she couldn't lose her track of thought. She had to remain strong to win. "BUTIO! DISPLODO!" she yelled once more, as she smashed her fist into the ground infront of Ryn, as she did the ground exploded, like usual. It wasn't much different from the first explosions, the only difference was the ground shaking and that she was yelling in latin.
"Crap!" Ryn yelled as the explosion hit him dead-on. "Hrrraargh!" He yelled as the heat from it scorched off the rest of his trench coat and scarf. Even his gloves were scorched off. The explosion sent him airborne again, he came down hard putting a crack in the ground. He heard something snap in his ribs. He clenched his side which had been burnt by the explosion. He was blown to the other side of the fighting field. The crowd cheered for Rio, chanting her name over and over again. They've never seen such a display of combat ability. Ryn picked up his glasses from off the ground, his ears were ringing from that explosion. He groaned sitting up, still holding his side breathing heavily. His left eye, the orange one, got a cut from the debris and he couldn't open it. "Can't...give...up." Ryn struggled to get up on to his paws. Finally standing, he takes out his silver dagger EXCALIBUR and puts it in his mouth. Now was the time for no mistakes, one more hard blow and he'd be done for. He had no energy to teleport or run, so he had to limp, with his guard up, back to Rio.
Rio stood up, her injuries so far included: burnt skin, a cut left eye and now her hands were bleeding. She had used all her strength on her last move, she had gone past her limit. She wouldn't last much longer in this fight. She took a few steps forward, her vision blurred a bit. What is he going to do..? She heard the crowds cheering her name. She was a legend, people loved her. She couldn't help but smile to herself.
Ryn kept limping towards her with his vision going in and out. Things seemed to be spinning. He was exhausted, he couldn't even lift his guard anymore. All his muscles felt like jelly. He kept willing himself onwards until he finally got into striking distance with Rio. He looked at her, of all the opponents he'd ever faced, she was the best and he had nothing but respect for her
Rio smirked at Ryn, they were now face-to-face. "I..." Rio muttered, quietly. "..am finished" she fell forward, unconscious onto Ryns shoulder, she had used too much strength, and couldn't stay awake a moment longer. The crowd gasped. Ryn had won.
Ryn caught her as she fell onto his shoulder. Having to atche her made him fall down too. "You truly gave it your all." Ryn smiled. That might as well have been the final match right there. No one in the tournament could fight better than the two of them did. All of the crowd were on their feet cheering, whistling, applauding the two warriors abilities. Jack and a few other medics from the infirmary came over to treat their injuries.
The medics picked Rio up and carried her away to tend to her wounds. Jack nodded his head at Ryn, helping him up. He grabbed Ryns hand and held it up high. "RYN IS THE WINNER!"
