Rio crept through the caves quietly. Recently, a lost woman and man were found mangled and dead in the outskirts of the cave. Their bodies had been dragged, a large blood trail had been left behind leading back to the darkest and farthest corners of the cave. It was quite a way back. Nobody knew whether or not a person or creature did this, all they knew was that it had left an absolutely brutal set of corpses behind.
Rio stood inside the cave, she had just entered and stared at where the bodies had been. It had been ordered for a cleaning crew to go clean up the mess but everyone had been too scared to go. Rio jumped at the chance, she wanted to investigate the area and maybe if she was lucky, run into the creature or human behind the mess.
Kavanah walked to the cave entrance that the bodies of a man and woman where found at. Being a knight he felt as though he should find out what exactly had happened here. Was it the riot starter Enoch? Or another murder that they needed to catch and stop? He set out to figure it out.
He walked into the dark, moist cave. It took only a short time for his eyes to adjust. 'Here we go.' he thought to himself.
Rio left her rags and bucket of water at the front of the cave and set off into the cave. She snapped her fingers together, trying to create a bit of fire so she could see, but no such luck. The fire wouldn't light. That was one bit of magic she just couldn't master. "Shit." she cursed to herself. Her eyes would adjust, but she was just too eager.
Kavanah Noticed a bucket and rag as he walked into the cave, cleaning gear.... But where was the cleaner? He ventured further into the cave with caution.
Rio could hear someone else in the cave. Was it the murderer? Maybe a creature? She turned around. "Who goes there?" she asked, her voice loud and strong. She had always wanted to use that phrase.
Kavanah froze for a moment when he heard the girl's voice. At first he thought it must be the cleaner who came to clean up the mess of the murder, but decided to be cautious. What if it was the murderer. "It's Kavanah." he called back loudly and without fear, "Who are you?"
"Rio." She stated simply as she walked towards the voice. "Are you re-visiting the scene of the crime? or just a murder fetishist?" she asked, a bit of a smirk as she came face-to-face with Kavanah.
Kavanah heard her call out her name and he let his guard down. He watched her walk up to him and he smiled seeing her smirked expression. "Well not exactly a fetish, just investigating you could say."
"Well yes I do suppose I am. I sort of forgot, I'm not so sure if you could say I have the characteristics that fit the 'knight' title." he chuckled a little, "And what are you doing here?"
"And there is nothing wrong with that. We all have our fetishes." he looked further down the dark cave. It was musty and the darkness seemed to swallow you in. "Well.... You were here first so do you mind if a tag along?"
"Sure, No problem but if anything pops out, I'll sacrifice you first." Rio said, completely dead-pan. It was hard to tell whether she was joking or not.
He took it as a joke even though he wasn't so sure that it was. "Okay, I don't blame ya...." he gave a playful nudge, "Cause I'm going to do the same to you." he was joking and it was obvious.
He smiled and walked with her. As the cave got darker the curse on his arm was more noticeable. It's glow began to give of a but of light that turned the walls a dark purple. 'This thing just doesn't like to hide does it?' he thought to himself.
'How do I get myself into these things?! It seems like wherever I go I end up dealing with a spirit.' he thought to himself. He sighed and turned to Rio, "Please tell me you didn't hear that."
