Ryn walked through the Center of Town, finally after four months of being in Avaleur the weird stares at his appearance had finally stopped, but something was different today. The Center of Town was always bustling with people going to and from the Avaleur Plaza and people sitting or hanging out around the fountain. Ryn looked around, there was only five people, the city shops and local buildings were open but no one was buying and the sellers were heavily armed.
Ryn understood, with all the murders that has been happening in the Alleys and farms, the Festival massacre, and now a man in broad daylight literally exploded because of Rio, the people were afraid to even go outside unless they absolutely had to. No one wanted to have any social gatherings after the Festival massacre, and because of the massive food shortage that was gradually becoming worse and worse some of the poorer families were on the borderline of starvation. Some people had already begun leaving the city and fleeing to Paineston.
He shook his head. What happened to this city? Before the tournament everyone was well and happy but now people were dying and were in very low spirits. More people were in the graveyard mourning than in the town.
Ryn couldn't help but think, Was this all because of Phillis?
Ryn always had a bad feeling about him becoming King. For one he hardly did anything to earn it besides clobbering a girl with the hand of a sword. Since he's become king things have taken a turn for the worse and he's done nothing but drink and sit around all day and now people are suffering because of it. And then, the coup de grace, he was just too young to be king.
Something had to be done.
