"To mama?" Grayson asked. Scarletts eyes widened, a bit surprised. "That's good, mama! Now ya can stop bickering that papa is a deadbeat!" Scarlett laughed awkwardly. "Really?"

"I deseved that," Walter admited, chuckling. "But hey. I didn't even know about Grayson. I was forbidden from knowing anything about you by my lord. And yes, of course I will give you the money. You deserve it, Scarlett."

"Oh, she said lotsa stuff, like-" Grayson began, but was soon cut off when Scarlett covered his mouth with her hand. "Oh, nothing really. Nothing at all."

Walter smiled at the two, hugging his son back. Suddenly, his stomach ached. He would have loved to seen Grayson growing up, would have loved to have been part of their lives. Part of their family. He stared at the floor as he thought. He thought of how he practically gave them up, without even knowing what he was giving up. He thought it was a week of fooling around, when he could have been a father.
"Excuse me for a moment, everyone. I will be back, I must just get some air." Walter suddenly looked up and smiled, placing Grayson onto his feet and quickly walking out the door. Once quietly closing the door, Walter sighed and sat on the stairs of the porch, head in hands.

Grayson and Scarlett looked at each other confused.
Phillis sighed, he thought he might understand what was going through Walters mind. "Excuse me a moment." he said, he stood up and headed after Walter. He shut the door behind him loudly to make his presence known. "Are you alright? You don't look so good."

Walter wasnt expecting anyone to follow, so once the door slammed Walter jumped, lifting his head up. "Oh, hello Phillis...I'm alright, I suppose. Actually, no. Not really." he chuckled, resting his cheek on his fist, looking out at the road.

"Sort of I suppose..." he ran a hand through his longer hair, looking at the king. "I ruined her, Phillis. Not only that, but I left her. And she had to raise Grayson all by herself. Now that I know them...I wish I had seen Grayson growing up. I wish I was part of their family, and lives. Aww, shit, I completely forgot about Denzel! What the hell is she going to say to this?!"

((Lol Walter needs to go to Jerry Springer or something.))
Phillis whistled dramatically. "This is quite the dilemma you're in. Just tell Denzel the truth and get over it. There's nothing you can do about the past. They both seem pretty happy to see you now, so just go with it."

"You have a point. I'd never understand. Barely anyone would.. But you're strong enough to get through it." Phillis said, he really didn't know what he was saying. "All I know is, there is a kid in there that really looks up to you and the second you showed up in his life, nothing else mattered. You might have missed a lot but.. you're here now. You could have just passed by his whole life. You're lucky you ever ran into him, really."

"I know I am...I am very, very lucky..." Walter smiled softly. "But, that's not all really...today...today I realized just how amazing of a woman Scarlett has become..." He frowned again, looking at Phillis once more. "I think I've begun falling for her slightly."
