Zaleth looked at his hand drawn map again, trying to decide if this was the place. After about two minutes of close examination, he decided it was the correct place. He stuffed the map into the satchel he had draped across his shoulder, smiling. Then he fumbled around a bit more and took out an ancient drawing on a tablet of stone so lightweight you'd think it was gray paper. On it was a depiction of two warriors, one in white armor the other in gray.
The one in white had a sword, much like the one Zaleth had gotten from his father twelve years before, along with a shield and a cape made from the wool of a Wyrmsheep. The one in gray had a spear as well as a bow with a quiver of arrows, but the crown is what interested him. It was the same crown the king of Min adorns on his head, one of the legendary items of the original two Min warriors. Gana, the Winter Fury who had mastery of the wind as well as ice and Daro, the Gray Blur who mastered the earth along with all of its sub elements. Both were extremely powerful and long dead, but their legendary items still existed in places scattered around Min and the rest of the world.
And now, Zaleth had both armors and the sword of Gana. The cave he stood in front of was well hidden in the crook of a mountain shadow, despite its monolithic size. Inside was rumored to be many enemies the likes of which no Min warrior wanted to face. That didn't scare Zaleth. What scared him was the chance that he may fail in his quest to get King Harth off of the throne. He had usurped the king before him and opened Min up to the world, but he was also making his people suffer inexplicably. It had to be stopped, but as he was Zaleth was no match for him. So he decided that he would do anything in his power to make sure the king was defeated, anything to ensure his people stop suffering at his hands.
Inside this cave lay the spear of Gana, and should Zaleth get it in his grasp he would inherit even more power from it. Not enough to defeat the king, but it would surely give him enough to make his way to his next goal, the bow and arrows. With a sigh, he entered the cave and lit his torch. The walls of the cave had been smoothed to the point where a coin could slide across the floor and walls without stopping. Why this was Zaleth didn't know, but it had to be for some greater purpose other than being annoying. He didn't have to wait long for his answer.
After stepping on a section of floor, a scraping sound could be heard. Almost immediately, five huge scythe like blades erupted from the ceiling, swinging to and fro and nearly slicing Zaleth in half. With a shout, he slid across the floor in an attempt to get away from the deadly blades but only succeded in gettin himself to go faster towards one of the swinging deathtraps. He hollered out a spell and immediately the ground turned to sand, taking a chunk out of his magic reserves. After that, he easily made his way past the blades and made his way further into the cave.
Five minutes later, he stumbled into a roadblock. Ahead was, if he counted correctly, twenty seven different paths. Nobody could guess which was correct it they weren't well versed in Min lore. It is said that Gana preferred the number twelve over any number. So Zaleth chose the path directly to the right of path twelve. Any well versed scholar could also guess that Gana would've booby trapped number twelve. With that, Zaleth stumbled into a chamber that was huge, and had over two hundred tombstones in it. He saw in the dimly lit chamber that there was a spear on the far end. Smiling, he looked up and saw that there were many paths, but only one led to a spike pit directly to the left of him. Path number twelve.
Laughing, he rode the wind to the spear and picked it up. That action then caused a loud echo in the chamber, and two hundred skeletons suddenly arose from their graves. Smiling, he turned and sent a push of magic through to spear causing a massive wave of magic to destroy them all before they even stood up. With that, he went out of the cave the same way he came in, and headed off towards his next destination: Avaleur City.
