(( RP between Phillis and Alice. Actually takes place in Phillis' bedroom ))
Alice slid farther under her blankets as the storm raged outside. She had always hated thunder storms; they terrified her.
Thunder cracked outside, and she leaped from her bed with a scream, ran out the door and into the castle halls. After a few minutes of running around the confusing corridors, she burst into his room and ran to the side of his bed.
"Papa..." she whispered, gently shaking him. Thunder clapped again, and with a strangled cry, she shook him harder. "Papa!"

Phillis sat upright at the girls cries. "What's wrong?!" he yelled out, looking around. He hadn't even heard the thunder, until it loudly roared in the sky, nearly shaking the whole castle. He finally clued in after a moments confusion."Are you scared?" he asked, picking the girl up and setting her on the bed.

"Ah, it's alright, baby." Phillis whispered in a gentle tone as he patted the girls back to calm her. "Come on, you can lay down with me, I'll protect you, okay?" he smiled. It was adorable the way she'd come running to him, he was beginning to feel more and more like her 'papa' everyday.
Alice nodded again and crawled into Phillis' bed. She curled up and clutched his arm again as she tried to calm down. But with the storm still going outside, she didn't think she'd be able to.

Phillis covered the girl in blankets to keep her warm. As the thunder began to roar viciously, he covered her ears with his hands and held her close. "Shh, shh, it's okay. Papa's here." he gently mumbled. "The thunder can't hurt you when I'm around."
Alice scooted closer to Phillis and hung onto him. She quickly wiped away a tear, hoping Phillis wouldn't notice. She need something else to focus on, so she asked in a scared, quiet voice, "Papa, what is thunder?

((I'm sorry but I really need to quote the sound of music here, I cannot resist.))
Phillis thought for a second before answering. " Thunder is.. an old man in the sky. He only speaks during rainstorms when lightning speaks to him first." he explained, trying not to laugh at his own bogus story. "The lightning talks to the thunder, and the thunder answers. That's all."
Alice sniffed and looked up at Phillis. "R-really? That's all it is? Well, when you put it that way, it's not so scary.." Right as she said, thunder clapped again and she cowered into Phillis' side. "Ok.. M-maybe it is.."

Phillis tried to think of a nice way to answer the question. "Hmm.. Well, not indoors, anyways. Never play outside when it's a storm, okay? You'll always be safe inside."
"Ok," she said with a soft smile. Phillis' presence and his explanations had calmed her a great deal. Her eye lids started getting heavy and she stifled a yawn. "Papa.. Have you and Daddy talked yet, since I met him?"

"Uh, no, we haven't." Phillis said with an awkward laugh. "Daddy is busy with school work though, you know. So we don't see each other often. I'm sure he's forgotten about being angry with me." he said, although it was partially a lie. He knew Dante could be forgiving, but only if the circumstances were.. forgivable.
