He needed a way out of his sorrow. Walter loved Denzel more than anything, but she was gone. She wouldn't come back, she hated this place! Even if she did come back, why would she take him back? It was a hopeless thought. But Walter had a solution. He would try and fall in love with someone else. Truly fall in love with someone else. He didn't think it would work, but it was worth a shot.
He had no luck so far, so he decided to get away from the people. He could easily get the ladies to fall for him, being the ladies man he was, but every date he went on, nothing clicked for him. Nothing. Into the forest he went, for a little walk. Try to clear his mind, if anything.
He picked a tree, and sat down next to it. He leaned his back on it and gave out a long sigh, running a hand through his hair.
Adriana had decided to be adventurous and go exploring, she had ventured deep, maybe too deep, into the Avaleurian forests. Now she ran screaming, dragging her ribbon on the ground and a Minotaur with long gray hair and sharp black horns chasing behind her.
Her size made it possible for her to out maneuver the beast, but it's shear strength and build allowed it to smash through all the obstacles. She very slowly distanced herself, that was when she tripped on a tree root and with a thud skidded to a stop. Her eyes white and big, she screamed again as surely the creature would get her now!

Ear pitching screams. They flew through Walter's ears, and he immediately stood up with a surprised expression. He then ran quickly towards the direction of the scream, surprised someone would venture so deeply into the forest.
He skidded to a halt, spotting a girl on the ground screaming, a minotaur nearly before her. Walter rushed up to her and, not even bothering with the minotaur yet, picked her up and jumped up into the nearest tree. "Are you alright?" Walter softly asked, his troubles clear out of his head. He set the girl onto a large secure branch somewhat close to the ground, and stood on it himself, looking down at the beast below them.
Adriana had thought for sure that Walter was the Minotaur, since she had her eyes closed. When she didn't open her eyes she was relieved to find that she had been saved. Her eyes were teary, "mmhmm, th-thank you." she hugged Walter's leg.
Down below the Minotaur crashed into a tree, knocking it over, it stopped looking for his prey. It's nostrils flared occasionally as it tried to pick back up the scent.

"Hush hush dear, it's alright. No problem at all," Walter smiled, resting his hand on her head as he turned to look at the minotaur. It would surely smell them soon. Walter knew that a demon's smell was thicker than a humans, so he mumbled to the girl, "I'll just be a moment, no worries." He removed her from his leg gently, pat her head once more, before jumping down from the tree.
He walked away from the tree, before bursting with a sort of black energy. His human form was gone, and a demon stood in his place. He gave off a large smirk. "A pity running into me." Walter threw a ball of dark energy at the minotaur, the energy hitting it's back.
"oh, ok." she said as she let go and watched Walter.
The Minotaur roared from the blast. It's hair was scorched off in that place and it revealed his skin. It turned around angered and more agresive now. It scrapped at the ground and then bursted at high speeds toward Walter. As soon as it got close it lowered its head to try and impale him with the sharp horns.

Walter licked his lips, still smirking. He buried his feet in the ground as the minotaur neared him. Once it got there, almost impaling him, Walter grabbed it's horns and slid back a few feet. It continued to try and push him as both struggled to push against another. Walter quickly moved to the side and let go of the horns, the beast rushing towards that direction due to trying to push back. Walter steadied himself as he watched the minotaur once more.
Adriana squeaked in worry and fright as the two collided.
Off balance, the Minotaur stumply ran before crashing into another tree. Bark splintered and birds and small animals rushed away from the ruckus.
The Minotaur did nothing for a moment as it regs there's itself, then, once it's senses were back, found Walter and charged at him again, this time it was farther away. Giving it a longer time to build speed and momentum. It lowered its head once it got just about half way.

Walter raised a hand up at the girl, to make sure she did not jump down from her spot. Walter slowly circled the beast, tracing out it's life. He did not know if it still had fight left in him, all he knew was that it was living. It would either die out, lay there not being able to get up, or get up and try to kill him again. Walter just waited it out.
The Minotaur began to come to again, Adriana squeaked when he saw its tail twitch and ten begin to sway again. It pushed itself up but stayed on four legs. It looked back at Walter as it limped off. Then it began to, as well as it could, run deeper into the forest.
Adriana clung to The trunk of the tree scared that it may come back.

Walter had no clue if it would turn and come charging back, but he still looked at the little girl. With a smile, trying to ease her nerves as best his demon form could, he asked, "My name's Walter. What's your name?"
"A-a-Adriana," she said still shaken quite a bit. The little girl clung tight to the tree branch and held her red ribbon for twirling in the other. She had managed to keep hold of it the entire time, it was her most prized item, similar to most kids blanket.

"Next time you should go with someone else, okay? We don't want you getting hurt!" He smiled. He walked under the branch she was on and opened his arms up. "Would you like me to take you back to town? We can fly there. Just drop down, I'll catch you."
Adriana, shook scared to let go, but flying sounded very cool.." Uh ok," she closed her eyes so it wouldn't be quite as scary then let go so she would fall out of the tree.

Walter caught the girl and smiled, chuckling. "Alright, don't worry. You'll be safe with me."
The demon lifted off the ground, batting his wings through the air. Soon they were above the trees. "We are a fair distance away from Avaleur...no matter, we should be there soon," Walter smiled, and began on his way. Even in his demon form he had a soft spot for children.
