Welcome to Avaleur, a medieval fantasy roleplay site where anything is a possibility. Face bandits, or knights. Work your way up to become part of Avaleur's castle, or try your luck at being a thief. Own a shop, be a guild master, start a family. The possibilities are endless.
"Really? Cool..." he mumbled, thinking. It was so interesting. But, with a large smirk that resembled his fathers, he added, "But dad's job is cooler!" "Your grandfather died?" he asked quickly after his comment, realizing Delliks had said what his age WOULD be.
Delliks nodded, "Yeah, I talked to his ghost just the other day. We had all thought he died when the castle was destroyed. But I talked with him for awhile." he didn't want to dive into the personal stuff.
"Whoa...I don't really have a family, my dad and my mom really. My dad doesn't have family, and my mom was disowned," he stated plainly. Grayson had no problem talking to strangers about personal things. After all, those things didn't bug him. And he could always dwell into the fact that they weren't together, and he had only met his dad a few months ago. Or that his mother was human, and they were in poverty until his father had agreed to be paying for a nicer home and such.
"So it must be really cool to be able to talk to a dead guy, especially a cool one like your grandfather!" Grayson grinned, dimples showing as he glowed up at Delliks.
"It is definetly a different experience. It's like talking to yourself at times and then they just appear and then they float and it really is quite the thing." he explained to the boy. He felt bad for the boy, just a bit though, his situation he had see many times. It never was an easy thing to hear or whitness.
Grayson nodded with a smile as they neared the middle of town. Or at least, from what Grayson could see from the small alleyway they were in. "Are you sure you don't want to escort me to the castle? I mean, my dad wasn't expecting me, so I think he'd be relieved you brought me to safety."
He chuckled, "I don't go to castles, lad. And not only that but don't you want to tell him you did it all on your own?" he really hoped he could get ride of this boy.
Grayson was uneasy about walking to the castle alone. But, he had already gotten the man to come with him thus far. "I guess so," he mumbled, running his hands through his hair with pursed lips. "Why don't you go to castles?"
"Kings, Queens, nobles, and lords. I don't want anything to do with them until I have an idea about what they stand for." he states simply. Delliks had seen to many of those. Oppressors, corrupt, and truly evil people in charge because of a title. And in doing so totally undermining the title.
"I am sure I would too, but maybe I don't want friends." he chuckled, "I don't want to be caught off guard, so I wait till I have an idea before I figure out what is the truth."
"Wha- Who doesn't want friends?" Grayson seemed to shake his head at the man. Grayson had troubles making friends, as most would guess with his rambunctious personality.
"They are liabilities, and I would hate to see someone I cared for get hurt," he said all this but he made tons of friends, he liked to think do anyway. Delliks just often times figured it would be better without them, but he could never truly cut himself from them.
"Everyone's afraid to see people they care about get hurt...it takes the brave people to stand against that and get friends anyways," Grayson shrugged, as if it were nothing. He thought that Delliks was being silly- he thought most adults were silly. Not using their heads.
They had now reached the middle town, "Well maybe you are right." he sighed, looked like he could finaly get ride of him now and fall asleep somewhere. "I guess this is goodbye eh? I have taken you as far as to the center of town."
"I'm always right," Grayson stated matter-of-factly, with a slight smile. "And alright...I'll probably be able to make it to the castle. You sure you're not coming?" the boy asked one last time, ready to turn his heels around and make his way to the castle.
"Uhm, a-alright...see you later, Delliks!" Grayson gulped, waving, before turning and making his way towards the castle. Boy was he nervous. But he was happy, at least, to be out of the alleys. In the right direction.
