Magic is a big part of this world. It is used to build, destroy, heal and kill. It is used in many ways, and most if not all races can use it. No one knows how long magic has existed, no one knows everything about it. It would be impossible to learn every spell, every technique. Every type. Many have tried. All have failed.
In this world, no one knows truly where magic comes from. There are many theories, from that it lies within us as a gift from the gods, to we take it from the earth itself and were not meant to have it. Some love magic, others hate it.
It is a powerful tool, and because of this it does have its limits. Some magic can kill their users, there are different types and different levels of magic users. Below are the requirements for each level, and the categories of magic in this world.
Destruction:
A type of magic that does not help, only damages. It ranges from a variety of spells that relate to this. This includes...
-Dark Magic, using darkness as a weapon
-Rage, or berserk
-Blood Magic
Healing:
A pure magic, one that does good. Can heal many wounds, but not all. Healing magic only speeds up healing, making it quicker. This can save lives if time is limited, but fatal wounds can not be helped. This Includes...
-Closing Wounds
-Removing Weak Poisons
-Numbing Pain
Elemental:
Elemental magic is magic that the elementals use. Though the elementals use them best (as long as they've more practice with it than the non-elemental), one can usually learn these skills. This type of magic is the most common, being the easiest to learn. This includes...
-Fire
-Water
-Air
-Earth
-Electric
-Metal
-Ice
Protective:
Never harmful, only protective. It can protect just the user, or protect multiple individuals at once. It can block physical attacks, and mental attacks. This includes...
-Mind Protection
-User Protection
-Dome Protection
-Reflective Shields
Light:
Light magic can be, oddly enough, harming. Blind you while you try and attack, or create a holding cell around your enemy. This includes...
-Barriers
-Light Beams that pierce skin
-Blinding Light
Other:
This contains random bits of magic that does not truly belong into any other category. This includes...
-Teleportation
