This forum's host, 'proboards', will be upgrading to a new version- version 5.
In the next few weeks I will be receiving an email allowing me to beta test this version with our website. I do not believe this will affect our current website- what it will do is allow me to get everything ready for when they switch over. Fix anything that might have changed that I need to fix. I do not think anyone but I will see this new version of our specific site until the release of version 5 unless I invite them to.
There are some good things, and bad things, about this new transaction. Some things are both good AND bad.
-The transaction is mandatory, I apologize. I have no choice in the matter
-The coding in our system probably will not work. Side tables, stats, the moved 'hey x you have x messages', those codes might not work any more
-Every member will be forced into re-registering with a 'global account'. With this, everyone should have the same email as your other accounts. This will allow you, with a click of a button, to switch to other accounts of yours without logging in and logging out constantly
-There is a shoutbox that is directly from proboards. We can decide if we like our cbox or the shoutbox from proboards better
Now, there will be a three month period at some time, in which I must transfer over our website. At this point I must redo the skin, and try and find codes to work with.
Sadly, I believe the only thing I might be able to find will be side tables.
I will try my best to make this as easy as possible for all of you. All I ask is that you try and switch over all of your accounts to one email that you use frequently. And along with that, maybe PM me that email? You don't have to do that, but if something goes wrong transferring I want to be able to contact everyone.
I will be making saved files of everything I can. All information. This includes shops, character sheets, the rules, etc. Everything of importance. Sadly, I can not save every thread. So if something goes wrong, no RP thread will be saved.
I will update everyone as much as possible, and I will hopefully get around to giving everyone a chance to see what the new website might look like. I will try and keep the skin the same.
