Welcome to Avaleur, a medieval fantasy roleplay site where anything is a possibility. Face bandits, or knights. Work your way up to become part of Avaleur's castle, or try your luck at being a thief. Own a shop, be a guild master, start a family. The possibilities are endless.
Delliks rubbed the hairs on his chin. That made sense he supposed, guarding her out of sight, pretty smart really. He wondered how many were here, hiding in plain sight.
"Me, good? You praise me too much M'Lady. I am only as good as the other is bad. My skill is raised when another's is seen as lesser." He continued to try and answer her question in a round about way. "I'm only better when paired with someone lesser, in other words. You saw me once, what makes you so sure I am actually good?"

"I'm not. I've just seen enough fights here to know who has talent. Maybe you're not good- maybe the fight with Roe was a fluke, or maybe he was going easy on us. But that doesn't mean you don't have talent. I guess I assumed too much to say you're good," Namari smiled. "Though you are right. It all is pretty relative, huh? You're good at fighting- with some people. And you're probably bad at fighting with others. You make a good point."
And with that, Delliks was successful in avoiding her question that would involve his past. He smirked a bit at his success. "Yes, relatively, it can sure be a bit depressing eh?" He chuckled. "I would wager you stand on top most of time. At least the stories say so." He smirked, he of course had only heard it mentioned she used to be an arena champion... Sure he exaggerated just a bit.

Namari raised an eyebrow, then chuckled, shrugging.
"I was one of the more... known battlers, I suppose. It was really the only thing I could do to get money. Now, what kind of rumors do the arena members tell you?" she placed her hand at her hip and smirked. Oh yes, she could hear it now- the older members telling the new ones about her slaughtering thousands of people, or looting their bodies after a battle. Not true of course- only something that her and the members would joke about when she was still coming to the arena frequently, before she became a knight even. She had only ever killed a few people in her early days- and it was almost always by accident.
"They say some cheap shotted you once... A surprise attack from behind and took off your whole arm. The result? You picked it up and used it to bash him silly. And then as he laid on the ground almost bleeding to death, you healed him." He smiled the whole time that he fabricated the story.
At the end he finally laughed, "No I haven't heard anything about you really, only that you were once sort of a champion eh?"

She couldn't hold in her laughter- and hell, she wouldn't have been surprised if they had said that.
"Yes, I suppose. I sort of quit the arena when the knights started up. It was enough training in itself," she grinned, shrugging once more. "Have you any aspiration to become a champion in the arena?"
With his oath, it was literally impossible for him to do such a thing. "I wish to be a champion at life, a legend that will live on forever." He smirked, it was his goal to be something like the stories of his grandfather that still continued to circulate in the wilderness of Core. A living legend...
"But of the arena? I find more pleasure in the praise of the weak ten in the strong. Hard to be satisfied with those standards eh?" He laughed at himself a bit.

Delliks seemed to be a very interesting man- he reminded Namari of someone she knew a little bit. But, she couldn't put her finger on it.
"I suppose so. You seem to be quite wise for your age, Delliks," the Queen smiled warmly.
Finally, she then said, "It was quite the pleasure meeting you, but I should be going... much business to attend to, of course, that I really should be working on. If our paths do not cross again, I hope that you become that legend you wish to be."
It was nice talking to Delliks, refreshing really. He seemed to have a different look on things then Namari was used to, and she hoped to get a better insight as to his ways of thinking in the future. But, sadly, she had neglected her duties too much. Sure, it was her first day out- but she had much to do. All she had done that day after all was speak with Phillis, and come to the arena.
With that, she nodded her head slightly with respect, before turning around and walking towards the exit, where no doubt two guards would probably be awaiting her return.
Delliks continued to smirk, "If I do become that legend, or paths will cross many times." He bowed as well and watched her go. Interesting for a Queen. He shook his head a little, government, at the moment he wasn't sure how to feel about it. Royals, nobles, men in fancy shows that cost enough to feed the orphanage?
He continued to think before he realized he couldn't stay here really... How was he going to justify breaking his oath here? He needed to get a job...
