Namari sighed, resting against a wall. A large cut from her temple to her chin ran across her face. She had just fought one of the more strong competitors in the arena, and won. The gecko on her shoulder, still as small as when she got it, rubbed itself on Namari's neck, trying to make her feel better. Peter seemed to be the runt in his family, for he was smaller than he was supposed to be.
With her sleeve, she wiped away the blood, and gritted her teeth. After a fight, she was always in a bad mood. Even if her exterior showed a woman who loved to fight, inside she disliked harming others who had done nothing to her.
"Rough day at thee office hinny?" Steele (human form) said folding his arms next to her. He wasn't sure if Namari would still recognize him if he wasn't changed. "Ye sure showed that one what thee definition of pain is." He chuckled. "Poor bastard had ti leave on a stretcher." Steele laughed. "I would've went for thee kill if ye ask me, what kept ye bonny lass?"
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."

Recognizing the mans accent and demeanor, Namari chuckled. "Hello, Steele. It was not a death match, first of all, so I would have lost the match if I had killed him. Second, he has not done anything to me to deserve his death."
"Aye but he was weak nd' ye were strong. Like in sports, thee taller nd' stronger person always wins. But I suppose yer' right he din't dee anything ti ye but all is fair in a fight, besides ye get a hefty paycheck." Steele chuckled. "I think ye need a bondage befor' that crack on thee head scars besides I thought ye loved fighting?"
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."

"I have no one to look pretty for, so I don't mind if it scars," Namari smirked. "And I suppose I like fighting... It's the only thing I'm good at. It's just that I don't like the thought of harming others for no good reason."
"Bah, if their dumb-asses signed up fir it that's a good enough reason fir me." He says with a look of pride and then feels something familiar on his leg. Looking down he see's Peter hugging his leg again. "Oi haven't ye anythin' betta' ti do then ti keep huggin' me ye buzzard? I'd think ye'd AT LEAST be taller."
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Peter quickly let go upon hearing Namari's threat and scurried back to her. "I'll say. Steele said. "Back ti' what I was sayin', hinny ye can't keep gettin' into a barley if ye can't stand ti hurt otha's. Tis like sayin' ye want ti cook but ye can't stand eatin'. Ye hav ti jus' let it go bonny lass."
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."

"I know, I know." Namari sighed, running a hand roughly through her hair. "But like I said, it's the only thing I'm good at. I wouldnt be able to get money any other way."
"If it bothers ye i much, why din't ye take up teachin' at thee school? Er takin' a job as a knight in thee toon'? That's what I'm thinkin' aboot doin'."
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."

Namari stared up at Steele for a moment, before smiling softly. "Maybe...I think that would be a good idea...both of them, actually. Now I just have to pick which one!" she chuckled, patting Peter's head.
