(Reserved for Meryl)
“You like her! Admit it!” Elle said, laughing, leaning against the counter, watching her brother sort out colorful vials by feeling for the engraved runes at the bottom. She smirked as her twin blushed, brow furrowing.
“I never said anything like that! I was just glad to see her,” He said.
“Her?”
“H-her dragon. Benny.”
“Ha! You like her dear brother. That’s great!” Elle said happily, clapping her hands together. “It is about time you find someone to invest heart in. Will you make a move?”
“No! I’m hardly the type of man that’d she’d look at twice,” Aerin replied, picking up his cane and he limped to a nearby shelf, stocking it with potions.
“Well, maybe if you wore something less stifling she would. Nuns show more skin than you,” Elle said. She tilted her head, looking thoughtful a moment. “How’s your stamina?”
“What? I can stay up for days working. Why?”
“Not working, I meant intimacy. How long do you think you could last?” Elle said.
“Oh for heaven’s-get out!” Aerin snapped, blushing furiously. Elle giggled and pushed herself away from the counter, striding over to her twin. She gave him a peck on the cheek.
“Remember, it’s how you use it that counts,” she said, and laughed as Aerin pushed her in the direction of the door. She skipped out of the shop, closing the door behind her. She stepped out into the sunshine and sighed, fanning herself against the heat that blasted her. How could Aerin wear all those clothes? She was barely dressed and she felt like catching fire. She wore her short, tight, hunting shorts with her knee high boots, and one of her more simple cotton shirts, sleeveless, with her favorite brown corset. Her cleavage showed nicely, but it usually did in everything, and her flat stomach for once wasn’t showing.
She strolled through the plaza, trying to decide what to do with her day. She was good on money and food for a while, so she didn’t need to go hunting yet. She helped Aerin fill out his ledger this morning, and he didn’t need any more help around the shop. Maybe she’d go swimming in the lake or something. She paused as she reached the fountain, staring at the water for a moment. Yes, she’d go swimming. But she’d get something to eat first. She looked around, eying the few vending carts that sold hot food. She didn’t want anything hot, but there was a lack of chilled food at this time of year. Her eyes landed on a vendor who sold hunks of cooked meat on a thin stick, the meat slathered in some red sauce. Perfect! She made her way towards it, daydreaming about the lake and its cold waters as she did.
