Arkelse approached her and spread his wings too. "Twins to complete opposites, brother and sister to strangers. But one thing has not changed, and that is your heart. You are still the same person internally that you once were but this curse will destroy that! It'll destroy everything! Please, those killings can be forgiven, I heard the sorrow in your voice." Arkelse pleads with his sister.
Arkelse lowers his wings and takes a step forward. "I will cure you and then we can talk. You're under much strain right now from that curse. I can remember what it was like." Arkelse turned to Kavanah and Steele. "My friends I am greatly in debt to you both, thank you. Kavanah, you may continue to your home, I wish you a safe journey and hope you find what you seek from your tribe. Steele, you are welcome to stay but I fear you may be disturbed by the curing process. It's very sacred magic and to dispell the curse it will be almost unbearable for my sister, you will actually see the demon spirit killed."
Kavanah nods his head, "It was no problem, best if luck to you."
He turns and walks through the cave. 'Rather not go out into te cold again.' he said to himself. After walking through the cave for a bit he came upon an exit. He left the cave to be met by the sunrise and warmth. He laughed. "Must be on the other side of the mountain, it is so amazing of different the two sides are." he said aloud.
He walked toward the next peak that rose high into the sky. Once he reached the top of this one, he could see a series of floating mountains. His home. He smiled and flew toward them.
Steele watched as Kavanah left. "Well hinny, who else' is goin' ti stay if somethin' goes wrong? It'd be quite thee experience ti' see tis' actually." He wondered if HE could use the cure on Walter. An evil chuckle came from Steele.
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Arkelse nodded to Steele. He then noticed a pile of rope laying on the ground. He took it and said, "Luriana I'm sorry but I must bind you so you don't become violent towards us." She reluctantly agreed and Arkelse tied her arms and legs.
Then he turned to Steele, "During this process, that demon will do everything it can to resist death. I was not much trouble during my exorcism, I guess you could call it, but I had no offensive spells and the demon was not as imbedded in my soul. I am unaware of the extent of her teachings so I'm actually glad you stayed." He turned back to Luriana, "Let us begin."
Arkelse removed his shield and mace from his back, he took the holy stones from each and placed them on either side of Luriana. He then drew symbols in the dirt around her. Arkelse stood and placed his hands over Luriana. His halo of light appeared above his head and he began to speak in Latin.
Luriana shook and shuddered in pain, screaming unknown languages and yelling in pain. She broke through the rope and drew her swords. She stabbed them into the ground and a dark wave of light and wind flew from her. The fire was blown out so that the only light now was Arkelse's halo, the holy stones and his now glowing hands and wings. There was a crash from the back of the cave! Something large was headed this way! Arkelse opened his eyes to see a massive Shadow Dragon appear from the back of the cave. "Release her, angel," it hissed, "You may have gotten rid of me with ease, but I will not let this one go!"
Arkelse turned to Steele not breaking the cure as he did, "Steele! Now would be a great time to prove what a great fighter you are!" he turned back to Luriana and continued the Latin, she now lay limp but with her hands still on the swords.
Steele cracked his knuckles. "Let's do tis'!" He charged on all fours right at the shadow dragon. What had seemed to be like a direct hit turned into something else. Steele phased right through the thing. Confused he turned around only to be kicked with an incredible force down the cave. He hit the ground hard and flipped over. He slowly got up and shook his head stumbling. "what thee hell jus'-" His sentence is cut off by another attack by the demon as it pins him to the wall causing massive cracks within the cave.
"Release her you filthy angel! Or I kill your mongrel and send him to the depths of hell!" The demon dragon was furious and almost panicked. Its grip became tighter on Steele and he yelled in pain.
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Arlelse had to think fast. He slid his foot under his mace and kicked it up. He kept one hand over Luriana and grabbed the mace with the other. He pointed the mace at the dragon and a great light shot from the end and hit the dragon. Its grip released from Steele and it fell back against the cave wall. "You......... fuckin angel...... stop this holy magic!" it shrieked. Arkelse threw the mace to Steele, the holy energy still surging from it, "Keep that on him, he won't be much more trouble." Arkelse said.
Arkelse looked back to Luriana, still lying lip on the ground. Suddenly she started to glow with dark energy. Little demon faces kept out of the energy and started to dissipate. The dragon let out a terrible shriek and also started to dissipate.
"Here Steele! It is time, throw me back mace!" Arkelse let his hands fall but the dark energy was still rising. Arkelse picked up his shield and placed its stone back into it.
Arkelse catches the mace and slams it on the ground, reembeding the stone. His mace and shield shine with holy energy. Luriana's dark energy was still building. A figure began to rise from it. It was all black with skeleton arms and a long black cloak. It towered above Arkelse, "You can not change her back, just let this end and continue your life, angel."
Arkelse looked the figure straight in it's glowing red eyes and said, "No." He lift his mace and with a powerful swing he slammed the monster off of his sister. It recoiled, shrieking in pain. Then looked at Arkelse and flew towards him. Arkelse raised his shield, when the monster hit it it burst into flames. Arkelse's halo and wings faded along with his mace and shield. The fire relit and Arkelse collapsed on the ground panting.
Steele limped over to Arklese. He was sort of mad at Kavanah for just leaving them when they could have used his help. He tried to help Arklese get on to his feet. "Are ye' alreet hinny? Din't go kickin' it jus' yet."
"Ah'm nothin' like me' fatha', nd' ah'll sure as hell keep it that way."
Arkelse struggled to his feet. He looked over to Luriana's still limp body, "Rest is what she needs now, the cure was a success." Arkelse said slightly panting.
