She sat at the side of the lake, on the beach. Namari's feet sat in the water, while the rest of her lay on the sand. Lately, Avaleur seemed to be attracting new people to town, mostly scholars.
Namari sat up, brushing sand off her back. She turned to her bag, which lay beside her. Rummaging through it, she grabbed a sandwich, and took a bite out of it as she looked out at the lake.
Maybe I should visit the island one day... She thought, looking at petite island.
Seth sat perched up on a tree with a sketch pad in one hand, and an ink quill in another drawing the scene he was seeing. So THIS is Namari He thought to himself. She doesn't seem so bad. He drew more but a strong wind made him lose balance on the tree and he dropped the quill down below. Oh no don't..

Namari was about to take another bite, when she paused, and her long elven ears twitched. She slowly placed the food onto her bag, and placed one of her hands onto the hilt of her claymore. she looked around, seeing nothing, and decided to look back at the lake.
Hand still on the hilt of her sword, she picked up her sandwich with her free hand, taking another bite.
Phew that was too close. Seth thought sighing in relief. He'd heard Namari was a very talented Arena Fighter and he did not want to end up on the wrong side of her blade.
The artwork was almost finished, all Seth had to do was get the Quill from off of the ground without being noticed. Seth slowly made his way down the tree when a crow came and sat on the tree. "Shoo get out of here." Seth whispered. The raven tilted its head gave a loud CAW! Seth facepalmed. "Get out of here you stupid crow." He said becoming frustrated. The crow gave him one look and pecked his hand. "Ah!" He yelled in pain losing his grip on the tree. "Whoa WHOOA!" He yelled falling out of the tree and causing a THUD on the ground. He sat up rubbing his head.

Namari quickly threw her sandwich to the ground, grabbing her sword and stood up, looking in the direction of the thud. Seeing it was only a boy, she sighed, looking at her barely-eaten sandwich that now rested in the sand. That was my lunch... she thought, stomping her way over to the boy.
She stood next to him, her claymore's tip sticking into the ground. "Who are you?" she said, her voice harsh, eyes narrow.
"My names Seth ma'am!" He says fearfully. "Oh and uh this? This is uh." He hesitated for a moment. "Math problems? Yah Math problems. You know school and all." He nervously says lying through his teeth.

"Stop with the ma'am crap." she said, rolling her eyes. She quickly snapped the scetch book from the boy, taking a look at the picture drawn in it. "This isnt a math problem..." Namari said, as one of her eyes twitched, and her grip on the sword tightened.
Seth flinched when Namari took the sketch book from him. "Well yah see Math is such a wide field and now math problems today are solved using...pictures?" He says with a nervous smile.
Seth had never shown anyone his artwork, especially someone as tough as Namari and he'd been drawing since the day he could hold a quill. And it didn't help that Namari was gripping that sword awfully tight.

She stared at the picture for a moment, occationally looking at Seth. She finally loosened her grip of the sword and handed the sketch back to Seth. "Thats pretty good..."
Looking at his scared face, she lifted an eyebrow. "Why are you freaked out?" Namari asked.
"What me? Freaked out? No way." He laughs nervously until it just becomes scared laughter realizing she sees through ALL of his lies. "Okay truth is...I've never really talked to a true warrior before. I mean yeah I've talked to a few friends at school but i've never met an actual arena fighter before." He says looking at her giant claymore.

She nodded, looking the boy up and down. "Well, now you have." She said simply, walking away from him. She threw her sword onto the ground beside her back, threw the sandwich into the lake, and lay in the sand, completely ignoring Seth's existence.
Seth tilted his head wondering Hmm this must be part of her training. He slowly walked beside her and sat down. "So yeah." He started talking. "My parent's and I just moved here. You should come by sometime and work out, you look like you work out." He says hitting on her.

"Dare you to hit me again. See what happens." she muttered, eyes still closed and hands behind her head. Why this kid was bugging her, she had no clue.
"Two girls and I were having a race to see who could fly to the church the fastest. I would have won but I went just a little too fast." He said laughing at his own joke.
"A powerful elven kingdom? Cool! So did they have other elves there?" He idiotically said interested because Namari was the first elf he'd ever seen. "With pointy ears and everything?"

Namari chuckled a bit at his stupid question. "Yes. Pointy ears and everything. No other beings lived there. In my country, elves are all powerful." she said, sitting straight.
"In fact, the kingdom I resided in was the most powerful. And I was one of the most important people in it." Namari stated matter-of-factly.
