A lizard with green scales and a long beard extending from his chin looked at Rez and smiled. His tongue licked his lips to catch the droplets of alcohol that remained, "Rez, lad. You are going up so, so slow." he laughs since the Lyicians aged much slower than Stellios did. The one who brought Rez in answered, "He ain't like us, no. He gots twice the life that we got. *hic*."
Rez chuckled, "It's not really how much time you have, just what you do with it really." the others nodded in agreence. The older green one sniffs the air, picking up a possible other scent, but because of his drinking he soon forgot about it. "So Rez," he began, "We have an idea, you are very studious. You are deep in reaserch, figuring out the magical property of hidden and unlock able potential. Perhaps we can help Ye."
Rez kneeled in to listen to the man, "That-that would be awesome." he stammered in disbelief. The old one talks again, "I, I know of a certain book, it's deep within the temple in Goragon, I, I can get it for you. But what's it worth to Ye?"
"Name it, I'm sure I can do whatever it is you need." he answered back, this research was his life. "Alright, you have to do it to us first," he motions around the table, "And." because they were friends he worried for Rez, "You may loss yourself. The more you learn the more you will forget. Soon your self could be lost within the knowledge that you will gain."
Sanaki's eyes widened at what he heard, he lost his memory to the vast knowledge the tome held, but that didn't explain what he was like before it but from what he had seen he wasn't much different then the current Rez, would he be satisfied with that much?
Either way he checked his mental clock did he have enough time to see this though? should he stop the young Rez from reading the tome? he had too many questions but what he did know was that those lizards things wanted to have their power unlocked too.
He clenched his fist in anger should he stop Rez and change who he is? or let this go though and leave Rez to ponder over his past? he had too things to think about.
The memory slowly deteriorated, and it reformed soon after. Rez was a bit older, about 100, and he was much different. He was speaking with some elders high in the mountain fortress of Lyician. They stood on the balcony looking over its edge at all the kingdom that you could see on this side of the mountain that is. "My research has shown a far Something far greater than was ever expected." he explained to the men and women. His voice sounded as if hundreds of people spoke in unison. A strang aura could be felt radiating off of him as all his mastered formed into one.
A woman, one of the elders, placed a hand on his shoulder. "This isn't healthy Rez, you are kissing yourself. I can see and feel the battle for yourself as you speak. All your selfs are competing for you. You are no longer the fire Mage interested in finding your potential, listen to yourself and whitnesses what this is doing to you." she said. Rez looked at her in anger. "This is me! I have control! Why do you not understand?!" as his anger grew this cracked and burst. The elders nodded to each other and began the process of breaking him into parts. Rez cried out in pain, he felt betrayed. "No! Stop, what about the research?!"
Sanaki watched from a tree in sheer horror but agreed with the elders at the same time, discover magic but lose yourself in the process, was the sacrifice worthy?
Sanaki felt himself split into diffrent parts but not like Rez was, one side wanted it to stop and help Rez, another wanted to know what he found out, and another just wanted to watch then sort it out later; he shook his head and continued to try to watch.
Rez hit the floor holding his head. He screamed for several moments before falling asleep. The elders sighed in relief for a moment, but quickly refocused, it wasn't over. A woman, the same as before spoke again. "We must make him forget himself or this well only happen again..." reluctantly the other elders agreed and the process of making Rez forget began.

Rez laid on the ground, his body limp. It seemed as though nothing was happening but in his mind everything was arranging to replace his forgotten memories. The elders sat down weary from the process. It was done.
Sanaki paused unsure what to do the memory lost explained, but should he tell Rez? would he seek revenge on the elders? he doubted that they were still alive but he wondered how Rez would take it; he figured he should get out soon before his presence is reconized and he screws everything up.
Rez's memory once again began to deteriorate. The woman who had done most of the talking looked directly at Sanaki. Did she truly see him? Or was it just coincidence?
Sanaki nearly fell out of the tree when the elder looked at him, or did she? he would rather not know and just get out now, he focused on Rez's brain hitting it with thoughts it wouldn't recognized with might hurt a bit but not alot, he hoped it would prove sufficient.
Rez, the one outside of his mind, jumped a little feeling something stir within him. Was it the mental kick? He wasn't going to take chances. He shoot Sanaki to wake him.
Sanaki was dragged from Rez's mind and he shot straight up from his sleep, he looked around disoriented and confused until he remembered what had occurred "O-oh right I'm.....yeah ok" he got up and looked at Rez "Well, I've quite the story to tell you" he chuckled.
Just before Sanaki awoken, it felt as though something was unlocked within him. Like something reawoken, but he wasn't sure what. Perhaps the mans story would explain. He looked at Sanaki excitedly, "Well, what happened." he could hardly contain his emotions.
Sanaki rubbed his eyes "well to put it simply: you met with some lizard guys who were drunk off their ass and they told you about a book that would increase your potential, and help you with some research; but the catch was that you had to 'unlock' them...like what you did to me." he recalled.
"Then you memory changed and you stood before some elders-after you unlock your powers though- you sounded like...i don't know, like all your personalities in one? they lectured you on how your personalities were fighting for control, you got pissed off and then they split you into multiple personalities, and erased your memory....and that's it" Sanaki breathed that was all to tell but it was alot, he would have to remember to write it all down later.
Rez's facial expression slowly melted as he listened to Sanaki's words. It was coming back to him in pieces, slowly, but it was coming back. "I..I think I remember that..." he said will he gazed off into space. It would take days before he fully understood, but in a way, Sanaki had just awoken Rez.
"Are you okay?" Sanaki feared that he might have just made Rez remember something that was better left unknown, "Maybe you resting a bit would help?" he asked.
Rez nodded, "Ya I think I will." he walked over to the chair that was over in the corner of the library. He sat down and inhaled the pink dust. How he would wake up? Only time would tell.
