Kavanah nodded, "Yep that is exactly what I meant. It is just you would be surprised how many people could do so much more if they just tried. It is one of the reasons I excell further than most of my brethren, I do not fear the unknown. I think to reach ones potential they must first decided they aren't too scared to go after it."

"The only unknown with my people is using an element but our own. Other than that, there isn't really anything. And it's impossible to gain a second element, let alone all of them. There have been a few in our history who have achieved using two, but they die within a week. The elements, I suppose, do not wish to share their children with eachother, and would rather us die than let us use more than one of them."
"The only exception to that, is people who were not born an elemental. Take for example powerful sorcerors, some can use every element. The difference is, if they faced even just one elemental and used all of the elements against them, the sorceror would lose. Elementals are the best of the best in that sense, because they were born into it. They were created by it. Oh, I'm sorry, I did not mean to drag on!" Jordan laughed slightly, running a hand through his hair.
"Don't apologize!" Kavanah said as he chuckled, "None of that dragged on at all. It was actually quite interesting as I don't know more than a handful about elementals. Or the elements really. I just know light and dark. And I have never heard of an elemental of either of those..." he furrowed his eyebrows as he made a quizzical expression on his face. "Are there?" he asked.

"Well...no, there arent elementals under light and dark. There also are not elementals under ether-life. And there are reasons for this. When the elementals were made, the element of life placed its element in each and every single living creature. That's a given, right? Life did not have any powers, other than to create living things. In reality, we all have the element ether."
"As for light and dark, they debated on making elementals. They knew they could, but they envied ether, as they saw ether had the most children of them all. So light and dark copied ether, and placed the elements of light and dark into each liking being and beast. The differences were that, firstly, they did not put the elements into plants. And secondly, it was the decision of the beings and beasts how they used them. Most of the beasts decided to use instincts instead of either element, whereas the beings would either use both, or either or. Being good, or bad. And, with enough practice, they could use magic with them. Actually, most magic is created from light and dark, even ones that seem to be elemental magic."
"But, it varies on the person if their magic is stronger or weaker than an elementals. So, from all of this information, I sort of lied. Since everyone has the elements light, dark and ether, all elementals technically have more than one element," Jordan smiled. He really did enjoy telling others about his people, and it's history. In his mind it was an interesting thing to hear and tell.
"Very interesting, so you could say angels and demons are the closest things to a light and dark elemental then?" Kavanah pondered all the things which Jordan had told him. The boy truly was intelligent given his young age.

"Sort of. They are the closest beings to those elements, really, so you are correct when you say that," Jordan nodded. "That means you have a pretty big talent, and are good at both."
He smirked, "I suppose it is a long story. I mean I could only tell of the curse, but then that only wants you to hear how that came to be. So I will start from the beginning then."
"My tribe is unofficially separated into two groups, the Legion and the Pures. It is in a way, political parties. The Legion think that the forbidden magic of our ancestors should be once again used. Harnessing it's strength and power to expand our home and in turn our race. The Pures are basically the polar opposite. They believe only the light magic of our people should be used and we should aid those who pray to the heavens. I guess you could say I was in the Legion, okay I was in the Legion. Only because the promise of power and strength delighted my desires, I didn't agree with everything. No one does on either side but there is only two. I had become the voice of the Legion, trying to not just talk, but act. We decided we would go to war with our brothers, take what we believed should be ours and leave. But we knew the Pures would not just stand by and let that happen, so we planned for a war. And to insure our victory we preformed one of the ancient and darkest of the forbidden magics. The sacrifice of a pure woman angel...." Kavanah paused for a moment as he played with his string bracelet. It was a hard part of the story to share, not many ears had heard. "I was chosen to lead the ritual, and before I knew it I felt the power and evils consuming my mind, driving me crazy fueling my passion for strength, I was lost in it. I carried out the gruesome sacrifice and the Legion, empowered by the magic sprang into action to claim the tribe. It wasn't until moments later I came to.... Gazing upon the corpse of my once beautiful and talented sister...." again he had to pause. Fighting back the emotions that came with this story. "That was when I 'woke up', I decided I would have no more of this and took the dagger that I used during the awful ritual and fled the mountains." He held out the black dagger, "It was the 'key' to the ritual, and without it the power left them, going to the dagger. As I fled one of the Pures struck me with an arrow that caused the curse of the blade to fill my body and soul. The markings on my arm once covered every inch of my body, my wings where stained black, and in a year I would become a low level demon destined to burn in hell." he stopped realizing that he could be making no sense at all. "I am sorry.... Am I making any sense to you or do I need to clarify?"

"It makes sense no worries...I wouldn't expect such a difficult and sad past to come from you, Kavanah, I'm so sorry..." Jordan frowned. "But please, continue your story if you're okay to."
"You don't need to apologize my friend," he thought for a moment where he had left off and then picked it back up. "Wounded I found myself here, in Avaleur. I crashed right down onto the fountain actually. I may have died if it wasn't for someone named Kai and a boy named Seth." He smiled remembering Seth, he would have to see him later. The boy had been cooped up, his parents not allowing him to leave while the war was going on. "After months of searching for a cure to the curse, I was out of time. I found myself drifting into the oblivion, Walter, the demon knight and Namesiwa did something though, I think Walter pulled the curse into himself, taking some of its power and saving my life. While I was in the twilight though, I talked with my sister and decided upon my path for when I would awaken, the white or the black. The good or evil. It was no shock to her when I chose neither, and said I would make my own. I woke up with this bracelet and a pair of extra wings. And the alternating colors of course. So I guess that is it really." he chuckled a bit, "More than one would guess huh?"

"Oh definitely! I am glad you are okay after all of that...and I am especially happy that you got to see your sister once more as well," the boy grinned widely. "You have a really interesting past, Kavanah. Jeez, all my past is about is not speaking and attending meetings with the council."
Kavanah smiled, "Yes, well you are still much younger than I. Plenty of time to add to it. Besides, before all that happened, my past wasn't interesting at all."
"And you are an elemental, it only seems more interesting because you aren't used to it. Comparatively my life before all that was probably much like yours."
"Ha, I can say something highly intelligent every once in a while." he joked. The two were reaching the thicker part of the woods. If they kept this pace they wouldn't make it to town before dark.

After looking at the path before them, Jordan smirked. "Well, if we want to get there faster you can always fly. I'll just skate, I bet you can fly faster than you can run, and I can skate faster than I can run."

If Jordan knew it was his last time seeing his friend, he would have stayed. He would have taken in every moment because it was their last. But Jordan truly believed both would survive the war. He believed Kavanah would come back alive, and they could go drinking at the pub and laughing together. Alas, Jordan was not so lucky.
"Sadly I really should get going...I've got to get up real early in the morning tomorrow to hunt and open shop," Jordan smiled sheepishly. "So I shouldn't go to bed too late."
The elemental quickly changed into his elemental form and grinned. "My friend, I will see you soon! And after this damned war is over, I can promise you that we'll drink our hearts out the night following!"
