"Mhmm," Phillis nodded his head. " I speak English and French. Something that was necessary to learn in Paineston. Quite a large bit of the people there spoke it. My mothers first language was French, so she would sometimes understand us better in French as opposed to English."

"Ohh, really? Hmm, I wouldn't have thought that your mother didn't speak english first. I thought Paineston was fairly strict in 'you do this, and only this' sort of thing."

Phillis laughed. "Yeah, that's sort of true. I think they only made the exception because she came from a high profile royal family bordering Paineston. The marriage between my parents was sort of the uniting of the two separate kingdoms, so it was beneficial to Paineston in the end. It made them a bigger kingdom and made them look good at the same time."

"Practice both of the things we just did a little bit more, then try and slice the blade through the air in different directions repetively, no breaks through each swing." Namari also stood up, practicing this.

Phillis nodded, doing exactly as Namari told him. He was able to do the move with a lot less difficulty than the others. Although it did take quite a bit of his stamina to keep swinging the sword without breaking in between.
It was harder to keep his grip in the sword securely while practicing the particular move. After practicing it for quite a while, Phillis un-buttoned his shirt more, airing it out. He usually wore it buttoned all the way to the top, but it was much too hot for him to do that. " I smell like sweat." he complained, although it was hardly noticeable.

Phillis laughed. "I suppose that's a good point." he took a deep breath, continuing to practice the move. After he had finally mastered it, he looked toward Namari. "This is becoming mundane again. Got anything else?"

Namari nodded, stepping away from the king. Gripping the sword tightly with her hand, the woman lashed out, spinning on one of her heels as she did so. Once she spun around once, she used her other foot to stop herself gracefully.

Phillis watched, his mouth open in surprise. How was he supposed to do that?! "A-Alright.. This might have an embarrassing outcome though.." he warned.
He began the move fine, spinning around easily, but as he tried to set a foot out to stop himself, it got caught, causing him to trip over his own foot. He dropped the claymore, so that he could place his hands out to stop himself from falling face first. He successfully managed to land on his hands and knees within a second. He hadn't even realized what had happened. The claymore slide off a good four feet away from him.
"That move is too complicated." Phillis huffed, wiping his hands on his pants.

Phillis sighed, standing up again and brushing off his knees. "Practice is rather embarrassing. I'm glad nobody else is around." he said as he grabbed the claymore off the ground. It was still quite heavy and hard to pick up but he managed much better than his first attempts.

Namari chuckled. "Yes, you're lucky, especially because normally the area has many people in it. What with the war and all," at this, the woman frowned. "...what do you suppose you'll do if we lose the battle?"
