Yemet had gotten past the guards quite easily. Some strange man with weird eyes had hired him to kill two servants in the castle. Yemet had slit the throat of both guards in front of the castle gates, and was now making his way into the castle through the practice field. Why a man would want two servants dead is beyond Yemet's grasp, but he had a job to do and it paid well. He had ditched the dagger at the gate, in the hand of one of the dead guards, and had taken the small knife one of them carried on them. It would be more useful anyways. Yemet stepped silently across the hard earth, dodging through the practice dummys and other training equipment.
He spared a glance to his left, and swore that his client was here in the training field. He had almost the exact same eyes... Asterisk shaped pupils. But the color wasn't the same. This one's were more... sinister.
Xavier made his rounds around the castle. Although he wasn't officially a knight, he felt like he should at least keep an eye out of the castle. Given the times they were in.
He made his final loop before lunch and then exited the castle by the gate. He noticed no gaurds, which wasn't too odd, the gaurds, although they were getting much better, were not top notch by any means. What was odd, was the ground. It seemed as though something was dragged for a few feet before the trail ended. It was probably nothing, just the gaurds rubbing their feet in the dirt because of bordom, but he checked it out anyway.
He walked in the direction of the trail, it didn't really lead anywhere, but nearby the wall of the castle there were large bushes. You couldn't see the wall through them making them a perfect place to hide yourself or something. Xavier may not have even thought to do all this if he himself was not an assassin. He checked the bushes and sure enough, two gaurds laid with their necks cut open. Xavier, looked at the cuts and noticed it was the work of a perfessional. Devan perhaps? He knew the man had been in town, given the results of some murders in the allys.
The cuts were still fresh and this did not seem to be true goal, otherwise they would have been left out to be gazed upon. No, whoever did this did this to get in. He studied the bodies a little longer. Noticing the one wielding a blade, had they fought? No that was unlikely, a cut throat such as this normally meant an attack in stealth. So why was the blade out and bloody?
Maureth had sensed the loss of life and had gone to intercept the one who did it. That's when he found Yemet. He glared at the man with his eyes on full power, ready to see what was going on. "What are you doing here?" Maureth asked.
Xavier then came to notice the empty sheath of the other guard. One could easily tell that the blade that the other held was not the match for that sheath. So it had been an assassin, and whoever had done it, took the knife from his victim.
He ducked and walked out of the bushes and continued his search. If it was by some strange madness Devan, things may get very interesting.
Maureth used his eyes to teleport in front of the man. "You go nowhere until I know where he is." Maureth hissed at the assassin. Casually, he summoned a sword, ready to kill the man if neccesary.
Xavier turned the corner and whitnesses Maureth holding a sword at possibly the killer. Or perhaps Maureth was the killer... This may get interesting. Maybe neither were the killer?!
Yemet silently acivated the seal to make his skin as hard as steel as well as the one for drawing power from nature. He would save his third seal for later on, if he even needed it. Quickly, we caught the man's sword and twisted it, smashing it into the ground. Right about now is when he wished he could use his left arm. "Don't be foolish. Go have your rematch." He said, referring to Dosise.
Xavier watched in silence and then noticed a few things. He decided to test out his hypothesis. "I hope you don't have a job in the castle, I would highly recomend dropping it. I can not believe that you could be paid enough."
Maureth smiled. He was good, and Dosise was here as well. With a yank, Maureth freed the sword and sent it flying at Dosise very fast, faster than he had sent Dosise's own sword at him a few days ago. Then he summoned another sword and went to run Yemet through.
Xavier decided not to show off. Leave his skills hidden invade he need to surprise this mercenary. He side stepped the sword with ease and watched the events carefully.
Yemet sidestepped the sword and hammerfisted the man's wrist. Off the blade of the sword, the moonlight lit up the man's face and Yemet was startled to see the face of Maureth. "You...!" He exclaimed. He knew somebody had fought Dosise, he just didn't know who, until now. The man smiled and nodded.
"Well, it looks like the riot wasn't enough for you... Leave this place and never return." The man shook his head, instead ordering to know where his brother was. Yemet narrowed his eyes. "He is four miles southwest of here. Leave, and take Dosise with you. He doesn't need to be here for this." He whispered that last part to keep it out of Dosise's earshot. Then he turned and darted for the castle again.
The man had given him everything he wanted to know. Now to go kill his brother. Maureth knew where Dosise was exactly, and without looking at him teleported directly behind him. Without warning, Maureth grabbed Dosise's arm and teleported again. The two landed near the area where the stone had been to get onto Isiolde. Maureth landed gracefully on his feet, then waited for Dosise to respond.
"You are lossing yourself... I have watched a man loss himself to his powers. I suggest to you for your sake, let it go." he looked up into the night sky. Yemet was the prime suspect now. He had seen these two whisper before Maureth teleported away. The two stood in the opening where the stone to the war had been. He decided to go with his hunch, not many people lost themselves like this by themselves. Maureth's mind was in a state in which he remembered some of, "You have spoken to the hydra haven't you." that organization twisted the minds of more good men than anything else.

Yemet had silently killed another guard before making his way into the castle itself. He passed by the king's room silently, ignoring the man as he slumbered. That's when he spotted his first target. A woman dressed in a servant's garb with blonde hair and gray eyes, her hands rough with work. He examined her closely, and then spotted the the two crossed swords with broken blades tattooed onto her left hand. This was his target. Yemet drew a perfectly balanced blade from his boot, took aim, and threw the knife. He heard the yelp of shock and the thud as the blade slid through her ribs, puncturing her heart.
Yemet immediately ran up and caught her as she fell, then covered her mouth and slowly let her to the ground. He withdrew the blade and slit her throat, just to be sure, then turned and threw the knife into the neck of the guard trying to be sneaky. The man started to fall, but Yemet was relieved when he landed on a pile of sheets the woman he just killed had been sorting. Yemet ignored the knife, instead heading for where his next target should be. He took a few turns, ran down a long hallway, then ascended to the third floor of the castle. He took a few more turns, then saw his second target.
He was exactly like the first target, except he was male and had a short beard. Maybe twins? Yemet didnt' care. The man had a tattoo like the first target on his right forearm, except this one had a circle of grape vines around the swords. Yemet crept up on the man, who was polishing a knife from the nearby kitchen that was only meant for the top two floors. Yemet drew his final knife, a long dagger, from his left leg and went to run the man through. That's when the man turned and sliced at Yemet. It hit his armored left arm, and Yemet was only surprised for maybe half a second before stabbing the man in his right forearm, severing the tendon to his hand which made him drop the knife. The man snarled and summoned a fireball in his other hand, hurling it at Yemet.
"Shit..." Yemet whispered to himself as the fireball missed and lit a wall on fire. Hopefully it wouldn't catch anything on fire that could end up burning down the castle. Yemet threw his dagger, which found its mark at the man's throat. The man wrenched the dagger out, blood squirting everywhere from his opened jugular vein. Then, he started to glow, and a second later he exploded. Yemet found himself sent hurtling through the castle wall and to the ground below, large stones landing on and around him. With a grunt, Yemet began to heal his wounds and as soon as he could move again he hauled ass out of there. The guards were instantly on alert and he was pretty sure that most of them would head for the king immediately.
Xavier shook his head in disappointment. "Get out why you can." he stepped further back and raised his arm in the air. A shadowy figure soon appeared and in the next point he was scooped up by a wyvern.
As he dangled from Kagero, the wyvern flew back towards the castle. Xavier climbed up and mounted Kagero to make this next thing much easier. He focused hard and by raising a hand created a large portal that the two flew through. Thy reappeared much closer to town and by doing that Maureth wouldn't be able to teleport to them. Now it was time to find the mercenary.
Kagero landed in the training field and Xavier dismounted as he watched Yemet run out of the castle.
Yemet had seen the wyvern and knew that the man was back. He increased his speed, hearing the alarm go off. Swearing, he knew he would have to find somewhere to lay low for a day in the city or risk never coming back again. Yemet saw an old house that looked as if it hadn't been used in a long time. He sprinted over to it and lept in silently through one of the windows. A homeless man jumped, startled, but didn't survive long. Yemet wrenched the man's neck, breaking it and killing him instantly. Without remorse, as he had been taught, and then he found a dark corner where he squatted down and covered up with his black robe. Onlyl a trained eye would be able to spot him now.
Maureth had watched the wyvern, but smiled when it disappeared. He wouldn't get away that easily. He homed in on where he had just teleported from and reteleported there. He could see Dosise in the distance, and teleported directly to him.
"Where are you going?" He asked darkly. Then he summoned a dagger and hurled it straight for the tender flesh of the wing of the wyvern.
'The house.' Kagero mind spoke to Xavier but the he turned his head screeching loudly at Maureth as his wing was penetrated b the dagger. Xavier also turned irritated. He would have thought the man would catch the hint that he should stay behind. He spoke angrily to the man, "Go before you go too far. I know you better than you know yourself right now. You are lost and if you remain lost there will be no return for you. I am going to find the mercenary who caused this alarm. I highly recomend you leave.
Kagero breathed heavly in frustration. His toxic breath extruding out of his of his mouth in each breath. He was crouched low in a position much like that of a wild animal ready to pounce.
Maureth smiled. "I did not know myself before. Now, I have cast off the old shadow of what I was, to become what I am supposed to be. I will go where I want and none shall stop me. I follow no orders, I kill and fight so that I may become strong enough to kill the one who took my life from me. You are but a stepping stone." He said, summoning two blades and activating another level of his eyes. A fifth line appeared on his eyes, meaning that the only one missing from his asterisk like eyes was the bottom left one. "Should you flee now, I will kill the assassin as a point of strength. Stay, and either you or your wyvern will not escape here alive. Or maybe I'll kill you both." He said. With a nod of his head, one thousand daggers appeared and flew straight at the pair. It was the same technique he had used on Yemet and Rheo at the riot, but it was much faster and the daggers were much sharper than they had been then.
