(( This is before the second war that's going on right now ))
The elven woman sat as the sun set, right next to the shores of the lake. Her hair moved sleekly in the wind, and she watched the waters movement. She let out a long sigh. When will this bloody war end...? She ran a hand through her hair roughly. She didn't know what would happen. Who would win? Who would lose? What friends of hers would live, which ones will die? Thoughts ran through her head quickly, as she leaned back and lay down againsed the sand.
And even after she had so much on her mind, another thought popped into her head, What's he doing right now...
Her face showed pain at the thought of Steele once more. Ever since she got back to Avaleur when he told her to leave, she did not show one ounce of pain. She would show no weakness. But she couldn't stop thinking of him. Namari had already lost one loved one, but to lose another was even worse than the first time.
As she thought about the man she loved, she began fiddling her fingers together. Her wrist felt naked without the bracelet he had given her. It felt bare. It bothered her to no end, but she knew that if she had kept it she wouldn't be able to control her sadness. She still couldn't believe it was over.
Namari gave out a long sigh once more, shutting her eyes and listening to the waves.
Roland road atop Gabriel, weapon and armor less. He wore a white puffy shirt and brown long pants. The two of them slowly made their way across the beach, Gabriel placing each paw gently in the sand and ocassionaly looking out into the waves. Roland bent down close to the lion's ear, "We have been through quite a bit me and you. It's only been really a short while but, but there has been a lot. I want you to know that... Well... I'm not going to let you keep fighting in this war." the lion stopped abruptly and turned his head. A look of confusion in his eyes, "Oh don't you give me that look. I just don't want to lose you that's all, and, and I don't think you are quite ready for it yet." the lion turned away, "Hey, don't be hurt. I just want to be honest with you. You aren't ready, and I'm not ready either. I don't know how to use us together right yet."
The lion walked on, and Roland felt better. He had gotten it off his chest and although Gabriel was surely mad, in time he would understand. He then saw Namari laying in the sand up ahead. He knew it was her because of her one arm. He got off Gabriel and walked beside him.
The two got pretty close and then Roland debated on if he should speak with her. She seemed to be sleeping. He decided to let her be and began to walk around, in doing so Gabriel's tail swooped the sand and it was flung into her face. Roland cringed, he hoped she wouldn't be pissed.

Namari's face cringed from the sand. She rolled onto her arm and spat out what sand had gotten in her mouth, and sat up, wiping the sand on her face with her sleeve. Finally opening her eyes, she stared at Roland and Gabriel for one moment.
"Oh. Hello. You wouldn't happen to know why someone would kick sand in my face, would you?" she raised an eyebrow, standing up and brushing herself off. She meant it jokingly of course, doubting Roland would do that, but her smile was small as she spoke.
Roland laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his head, "Uh ya, I, I think that was Gabriel. I think he may have accidently brushed some your way." he felt sick. What was she going to do to him?
Roland felt much better. He sighed in relief, "He likes to think he is bigger than he is though." he chuckled, "Oh ya, don't worry its just sand. Not like it was anything else. I probably would have ran way as fast I could if that happened."

"Ahh, trust me Roland, it's actually a relief to see a friends face, I wouldn't have been mad at you. You don't really know who is your friend or foe these days, and I at least know I can trust you..." Namari frowned once more.
Roland frowned as well, he had a hunch she was talking more about Steele than himself. She had come back looking fine from the woods after searching them for him but, but Roland could tell it wasn't real. It was fake, a mask to hide what she really felt. To people who hadn't spent much time with her, it was very convincing. But not to Roland. He knew all along.
Gabriel had started to lap up some water from the lake. Roland felt like he should say something but was at the same time at a loss for words. "Of course you can trust me," is all he could think of. He didn't want to really risk actually bringing up Steele, at least not him being the one to start it. That could have ended quite horribly.

Namari nodded, "I know I can..." She sat down once more, back to Roland, facing the lake. "...I thought he loved me..." she sighed, herlegs to her chest. She wrapped her arm around them, resting her chin on her knees.

"...his last words to me were that if he ever saw me again, he would kill me..." it was not the thought of death that made Namari sad. It was the thought that Steele said that, that he would kill her.
Roland bit his lip, that was a tough thing to swallow. Probably, he had never really been in that situation. He knew a few things about werewolves though. "Was he with his pack when he said that?" he asked hoping that he had been.

"Well, yes, but...I don't believe they were paying much attention...it's just...the way he spoke to me, the words he said...they hurt..." the elven woman gave out another sigh. "This is why I shouldn't get close to anybody. Bad things happen."
A werewolf was seen as nothing if something such as love was brought to the attention of the pack. A weakness, a disgusting blemish in the 'perfect' face of the pack as a whole and would be seen as something that needed to be removed. He wasn't sure if this was the reason for Steele's behavior, but if had to guess, that is what he would have assumed. A pack was like a family, and who could go against their own family. It would be tough.
"No doubt the words stung like hell..." he said lightly, he couldn't argue that. "But bad things? I don't know if I would go that far. Imagine where Steele would be without you, I honestly believe he would be worse off. The change may not shine forth from him, but I think it is beginning to peer through." after all, a pack was only as good as it's alpha.

"I just don't know...the fact of the matter is that we arent together anymore. I've lost a knight, a best friend and a boyfriend, all in one. Nothing good comes from being in a relationship with someone who is on a completely opposite side from where you are. One or both just end up getting hurt," Namari looked up at the sky.
"I don't think he would be worse off. I mean, if I had changed him even a little, why wouldn't he seek me out after our argument? If he really loved me, he wouldn't give up. In my mind, that means he didn't love me."

Namari frowned, turning to look at Roland. "I suppose that makes sense. All the same, who's to say he is watching us right now? I'm just saying, the evidence adds up to him not loving me. And besides, even if he does, we're not together anymore anyways."
Roland returned her frown with one of his own, "Yeah, I guess you are right. The evidence would point to that. I just would say that sometimes the evidence makes things seem a way that they aren't... But listen to me, here I am trying to make things better when really I can't. He is gone, and you two have separated. Instead I should be comforting." he sat down beside her and thought about placing an arm around her, but decided it may just be too weird.

(( LOL Roland's too cute XD ))
Namari looked towards the lake once more, before closing her eyes. "...thank you, Roland. Really. I'm glad you joined the knights. I feel like you're a brother to me. You've helped Avaleur in many ways, and try to make everything better for everyone. I can't thank you enough. And thank you for being here with me. Thank you for letting me talk to you about all this."
Roland smiled at all those warm and kind things that Namari had said. Gabriel had come around to Namari's other side and rested his head on her lap. "You don't need to thank me... It is really no bother at all. And Avaleur is my home, it welcomes me far greater than the fortresses of Tetra."
