She pursed her lips, wanting to push him on but decided not to. Then she thought. Who WAS her friends? There was Dosise, but he was a little more than a 'friend'. Kyle was, somewhat. So was Walter. Dax, well, Dani had no clue. There was Raymond, sort of. Seth sort of. Azeurid, maybe. The fairy girl she met in the forest was pretty cool. But overall she realized she didn't have many she could call friends. Acquaintances maybe, that was about it.
"No, not really. I think I'm cool with what I got, though," she chuckled with a shrug. "I guess I have a lot of acquaintances, just, not too many friends."
"I see" Sanaki ran Dani's response through his head a couple of times picking through it in an orderly manner, was she just saying that out of pity?, or to simply say she understood?, he tried to understand but the answer refused to show itself he couldn't even decipher if she was telling the truth, he decided that she was right for the time being; "Well we could always be friends" Sanaki replied with a laugh before another happy thought caught up with the last one "Do you like dogs?" he asked smiling somewhat.

"I'd be happy to be friends," she mused. "And as for dogs, well, as long as they're friendly I don't mind them. Their barks freak me out sometimes, and when they're aggressive I act as any cat would. That's just a part of my instincts though. So it really all depends- I like friendly dogs." She took another sip, before leaning more towards Sanaki. "And how about you? Do you like dogs?" Dani chuckled, tilting her head. She had found his question a very odd, random one at that. But she didn't mind that, not at all. It was amusing. Getting to know one-another was interesting, even little things like the question he had asked.
Sanaki's smile widen at Dani's approval of friendship though in his mind he said a prayer that she won't end up leaving too, Sanaki contemplated on Dani's viewpoint on dogs it wasn't like he could control Kumi's attitude and the concept of Kumi reacting aggressively seemed like an easy task, however it would be best to see Kumi's thoughts now then later- wait is she getting closer?
Sanaki directed his attention to Dani once again and began to think over the question, originally he was a cat person, they were loners much like his past self and he always had an habit of tossing some of his food to them regardless if they were owned or not, but after meeting Kumi... "Well naturally i love dogs! that sort of becomes a thing when a wolf is your only family member..." Sanaki smiled and shrugged in sync not knowing how to properly convey his emotions.
Not giving Dani a chance to wonder what he meant he put his index and middle fingers to the sides of his mouth and whistled loudly, looking at Dani and smiled cheerfully while a blur came barreling through the doors knocking over a few people and leaping into a sit beside Sanaki, now looking over his shoulder staring directly at Dani sat Kumi.

Dani's eyes went wide in surprise, an ear flicked back, and out of instinct the hairs on the back of her neck stood up. She brushed it off as best as she could. After all, this was Sanaki's friend. Therefor a friend of hers. "Girl or boy?" she asked with a smile, looking the animal over. In her full honesty the wolf was rather cute, and friendly looking. Her ear went back to normal, and slowly the hairs on the back of her neck began going down.
Sanaki reeled back at Dani's reaction ready to tackle one of the two to the ground if needed luckily Kumi managed to not take any offense, which was first really though Sanaki could feel Kumi glaring somewhat at Dani. "W-well Kumi here is a girl" Sanaki just got through the sentence before Kumi barked in agreement "and she is very....vocal" Sanaki shot a look at Kumi just before she barked again making her stop "but yeah we're family i guess, we basically grew up together" Kumi nuzzled Sanaki for his comment ".....yeah"

She relaxed a little more. And with a soft smile spoke out, "She's pretty...and it must be nice to have someone so loyal as family." Looking at the wolf, she grinned, "Sorry Kumi! I'm not used to dogs, or wolves! When I was young there was a mean dog in my town that would chase me around. But you won't do that, you're nice!" Dani held in he laugh at the back of her throat. There was once a dog in Littlebay that hated her family. And at six it chased her around, before she managed to jump into a tree. She was relieved to see Kumi wasn't like that.
Kumi titled her head to the side not quite understanding what Dani was getting at, did this lady think she was pacifist? if that was the case she would be corrected fast...but Kumi saw it as opportunity to bark in agreement anyway, Sanaki on the other hand was pleased to see Kumi getting along for change most encounters often lead to her just being overly protective of him, it was nice to see a change though Sanaki could only pray that most people would just accept a full grown wolf in the bar.
(I promise my replys will get better once i get back in the groove of things)

Dani purred with happiness, as she sat back up in her chair and took one more swig of her drink. Never was a dog person, probably never would be. But she understood that she could not classify living things all into one category- like saying all vampires are evil, or all humans were weak. It just wasn't true, not at all. "So how long have you known Kumi?" she asked, leaning her arms on the counter with a bright smile aimed at Sanaki.
Sanaki tilted his head as he looked at Dani, did she just purr? that was a sign of happiness for a cat, right? Sanaki hoped he was correct and carried on; "How long have i known Kumi? it been a while since the thought even crossed my mind." Sanaki rubbed his forehead as he attempted to recall the events in order, "I guess to make long story short i found Kumi afraid and alone so i took care of her before sending her back into the wild, then a few years later she ended up saving me from some bandits and we stuck together since then...to put it simply, since childhood" Sanaki laughed as he finished thinking on how long he has been with his faithful companion.
"What about you?" Sanaki asked as he took a sip of his drink "What was your life like before arriving here?" Sanaki leaned somewhat on Kumi continued to look at Dani, much to his wolf's displeasure.

Dani tapped on her chin, before shrugging.
"Pretty damn boring if you as me. Didn't do too much. Basically I helped my parents with paying bills and such, and occasionally went on an adventure with my childhood best friend," by 'helping her parents pay bills' she really meant 'stole and killed to keep her family afloat'.
The girl ran a finger along the rim of her glass, following it with her eyes, before smiling and looking up at Sanaki. "I've had a pretty boring life in all honesty! Not that I'm complaining, I don't mind it, but I'd still rather a little bit...more."
Sanaki ceased leaning on Kumi before casting his gaze towards the ground as a frowned formed across his face, was she really going to go with 'helping her parents pay the bills'? and was he suppose to believe it? to Sanaki it felt like a flat-out lie, he opened his mouth to respond but something caught his throat; 'maybe she is hiding it for good reason' he sure didn't want to lose his new friend over a little lie, right? None-the-less Sanaki's trailed back to Dani as he smiled and listened to the rest of her recount.
"More?" he replied "What do you mean by a little bit more?" Kumi's ears perked up and began looking at Dani as well somehow obtaining an interest in the conversation.

"Excitement, adventure, romance," she grinned. "I had none of that in Littlebay, other than small adventures with Stacy. And I have all of that here. I have a job, I live alone. I'm really living the life! I'm not just some boring small town girl now. I have a life."
She spun in her chair so that her back was on the counter and she was facing the pub itself. She looked at all the new faces, and all of the old faces. Quite the interest.
Danielle took another swig of her drink, resting her elbows on the counter behind her. "It might seem selfish. But hey, the grass is always greener on the other side, right?" she chuckled. "And so far, for me, it is. So far."
