Welcome to Avaleur, a medieval fantasy roleplay site where anything is a possibility. Face bandits, or knights. Work your way up to become part of Avaleur's castle, or try your luck at being a thief. Own a shop, be a guild master, start a family. The possibilities are endless.
Roe thought about it for a second. "Nothing serious. A hairline fracture on my cheekbone and a few cracked ribs. But those can wait, cuz you're going to need every ounce of magic you have for what comes next. Are you ready?" He asked in a deadly tone.
Ishin smiled at Namari's first comment. He would try not to move his arm much, as the healers left his heavily strained pectoral muscle alone in favor of his more serious wounds. "I get, er, got that a lot. Haven't gotten it for 20,000 years or so. Anyways, I thank you for the healers-" he paused at this word and nodded at the crowd of elves, "- and our mages are still keeping us a secret. They think that a large group of trees are just swaying loudly in the wind in the city, unless you have the ability to see through it like an elf or a magic user would be able to. To business though. I take it Roe asked about that isle? If so, I regret to inform you that he'll be away for a week or so helping build temporary homes for our people. But he plans on leading a duel leadership with me so he can assist you and your sister when she comes to rule. Is there any questions you may have?" He asked, summing up that part of the conversation.

The healers nodded, hands out, magic dancing at their finger tips. Ready to do their jobs.
Namari shook her head. "None that I can think of as of yet. Though, I do believe it will be a while before my sister is in ruling. My mother and father are young elves, their deaths will probably be for a while yet." "Until the isle is ready to live on, where do you believe you might go? Those that will need to stay in our infirmary may do so, and I will house as many as I can in the castle if you wish," the Queen offered with a smile.
Roe nodded and then laid back on the stretcher. They'd need all access to his body and laying down gave it to him. "Ignore the small cuts and lacerations. Get the puncture wounds first and I'll survive. Prepare yourself." With that, he changed back to his normal form. The red coat he wore to disguise his wounds was gone, burned away in the battle. All five puncture wounds appeared instantly, three in his torso and one in his left arm and leg. His hair grew to its normal length and the gash on his forehead appeared, blood flowing into his eyes. His right arm was burned pretty bad and would be ash if it wasn't for the coat taking most of the abuse. (second degree burns) And immediately blood started gushing from the puncture wounds, and a lot of it.
Ishin smiled. "We can get that isle out of the water in half an hour and have a small town set up in five. I just hope that bubble of magic that kept it afloat kept the plant life alive. But thank you for the offer Queen of Avaleur. It wouldn't do for an entire species to flood a city, especially when most of them are wounded badly. Again, thank you though. But after this healing favor, we'd feel obligated to assist Avaleur when she wants it for at least a few more years. If the alliance holds true, then that'll remain true to an extent afterwards. After all, most of us are still very proud elves that pay off favors to an extent they find satisfactory. Roe and me are the only ones to manage to get over this pride, but this pride will keep us bound in the alliance. I'm sure you understand, Namari." Ishin paused to readjust his left arm a bit, wincing from the pain.
"But one thing I must tell you is that it is likely our other brethren may try to attack us on this isle. Should that happen and we fall, Avaleur may be the next target. It's more likely the wood elves or the High Elves would be the next target, but should they discover Avaleur's queen is of elvish descent all hell will be brought down on the city. If I were you, until all of this is resolved, ignore our race completely. We will understand. Send nobody to the isle, not even trusted companions. When it is safe, we will start the communications. This is of the utmost importance, and I trust you understand?" He asked the queen

They got to work right away, placing their hands on the puncture wounds with the magic. They worked from the inside out, trying their best to seal up the broken things inside and outside of the man.
"I understand completely. Though I hope you understand Avaleur has faced many battles, against many powerful enemies. If they try and attack you all we will most likely help you. And if they tried to attack Avaleur, we have a lot of connections in this town, so I've seen. It could work out," she smiled with a nod. "Though I must wonder, why not try and settle down in Bataille? A completely elven land. My father would probably adore your culture living in his country," she stopped, thinking, then shook her head. "Ahh, never mind. Bataille is just one large kingdom anyhow, Fidelite is just its controller. If your people lived there he would demand absolute loyalty, and probably hand you all over to your brethren that wish to attack you if you did not comply," Namari pursed her lips. She really did not like her father, at all. And she had not spoken with him since she left Fidelite.
Roe lay there on the stretcher, starting to lose consciousness from blood loss. These healers were doing good for humans, so he just sat back and waited for the major healing to get done.
Ishin pursed his lips. "Namari, you've seen my brother fight, correct? Imagine that, except over ten-thousand of them. Plus mages that specialize in magic relating to heat and the inner workings of the body and you've got a nasty combination. That's why Fenrir sealed us away, because we were and may still be one of the nastier races of Guerre. But hopefully we learned a bit from that troubling experience. Anyways, we had a homeland far away from those lands that you're talking about just to avoid the other elves desire for absolute power. Should any elf actually attack us for staying in elvish lands and wishing to remain independent, that would be a war that may spell the end for whatever elvish races were involved. That is why we chose the isle, because if an emergency arises it is easily defensible and can be moved out of harms way. Or it could take whatever sleeping demons that are on it away from civilization to exterminate said demons. Plus, this way we are close to other civilizations and maintain relations with them while being separated at the same time. It is safer for everybody this way."

The healers continued to work, finishing off the major wounds. The blood flow was slower now, to their relief, and what was left was more fixable than the deadly woulds they had sealed up. "Doing okay bud?" one healer asked as they hurried their work.
"Well, I wish the best for your people," the woman nodded, running a hand through her hair. "I just wish I could help more. Avaleur has problems of its own right now, it is quite the handful. I will still help out any way I can."
Roe nodded, too weak in this form to talk. The one advantage to having two bodies is that as one heals, the other does too at half the speed. So if he stayed in his normal form then his blood release would be fine in a while as well.
Ishin smiled. "And I wish the best for Avaleur as well. Should anything arise you wish our help with, send out some sort of sign and we will come to try and help if we can. But try not to if you don't have to, only in dire circumstances. After all, it'll take a lot to disguise ourselves so nobody knows we are Bloodeyes. When it is safer, we'll tell you and then we can be free and open to help each other as much as needed. Thank you Namari, and thank you again for the aid. When they are positive they've done as much as they can, let them know that they can leave. Until then, feel free to wander around and ask any of us questions. We are an open people face to face, after all. Or you can go back to the castle, it is your land after all." Ishin said, holding out his right hand in a handshake gesture towards the elf.

The healers continued to work as fast and hard as they could. They were past the forty seconds at this point which relieved them, knowing that the man would probably survive. Magic continued to jump from the healer's fingers to the elf's wounds. One by one the wounds were closed up, and less blood was being spilled.
Namari stood and shook the mans hand with a smile, "Thank you. But no worries, I'm sure nothing too harmful shall happen. In the meantime, no communication unless necessary." "Hopefully all goes well soon for your people. Have a good day setting up your new home," she grinned with a nod, waving as she turned away and began heading back towards the injured elves. As she passed by elf after elf, she was slightly reminded of home. Being surrounded by so many elves at once. She wondered if any of these people had met her ancestors. Were they as brutal as her father? Kind as her mother? Joyous as her sister? Namari didn't even know what to classify herself as. She decided that she did not have many questions to ask the elves, so she told all of her healers to head back when all could be done. The Queen proceeded to walk around. Spotting an elven man who seemed to have just finished treatments, she went up to him with a smile, "I do hope my healers have treated you all well. How are you feeling now?"
Roe opened his eyes after the wound on his forehead was sealed shut. That's when he took a count of the broken bones he had and decided that he could live with the four toes, left hand and the hairline fracture on his shin. All the major wounds were healed that were causing major blood loss, so Roe held up a hand and forced himself to sit up. The holes in his undershirt were still present from the wounds beforehand along with the blood but other than that he looked fine.
"Well, I have to say that humans have still got the touch with healing. I've seen your race evolve for many years and most of the time they use magic for killing and destruction. I'm glad to see that some goodness still exists." He said, meaning it as a compliment. He reached out and laid a hand on each of the healers. "And I wish to thank you all personally. My name is Roe Halybrook. Say this name with a touch of magic in it and I will hear you. And I will make sure that I find you to help you." He said with a smile.
Ishin smiled as the queen departed, then flopped back in his seat. He was thoroughly exhausted from the last few days and needed a rest. But, that would have to wait after they raised the isle later on.
The elf looked up at the queen and smiled. "High Elf Queen of Avaleur, huh? Never really did like your kind, too high and mighty to even loan out some aid when their brethren needed it. Well, I don't know if they're like that now but they were in my time." He said, barely registering her question. Then he sighed and smiled again. "Anyways, you seem different. I like you. Name's Qwee, nice to meet ya. But yeah, the healers did quite well. Humans are a lot more intelligent than they were when we fought them all those years ago, and they're nicer too it seems. Thanks for the treatment my queen, just let me know when I can help and I'll try. But I'm gonna get what rest I can before Roe gets back, sorry for the blabbering. Roe's dad threatened to cut my tongue out once but I just laughed and... and.... well hell, I don't remember. Good night." He said, rolling over and closing his eyes.
Another elf looked over and laughed. "Forgive him, he never could keep his mouth shut. But take him up on his offer, he's only offered it once before and he was Roe's teacher. Might be of help." He said with a tired smile.

The two healers looked at each other, before turning to Roe. The one that had kept quiet then spoke, "I'm Kenneth. This is Grant. Good to see you're going alright."
Namari chuckled with a smile, "I'll be sure to then. Though, I do hope he finds out back where I am from my people are still as rude, powerful and still think highly of themselves. They'd only give aid if it was their own people, or if they were getting something in return. Sadly." She stood next to the other elf with a smile, "And how are you doing? You look tired."
Roe smiled. "Glad to meetcha. As you know, I'm Roe. Anyways, I should probably get going. I thank you two personally, and when your peers get back thank them for me. Hope I get to see you two soon. Farewell." Roe said as he stood and stretched. Then, without waiting for a reply he darted out and sprinted towards the exit of the city. After a few minutes of running, he managed to find his people and almost ran smack dab into Namari.
The elf looked at Namari and yawned. "Yeah, just a bit. War does that to a person. So how're you, my queen?" As soon as he asked this, Roe appeared and almost ran smack into Namari.
Roe laughed. "The same for you, my queen. But thank you for your concern, you have very good healers." He said. Then he looked at the elf talking to Namari. "Hash, are you harassing the queen?" He asked. The elf grinned.
"Not yet, but the future isn't certain." He said. Roe sighed.
"Always the joker... I'm glad he's a bloody genius though." Roe stated simply.

Namari chuckled, shaking her head. "I enjoy your people, Roe, I truly do. They are much more pleasant than my homeland."
"And trust me, it takes a lot to bug me, unless you know what buttons to push," she smirked at the elf named Hash. And it was true, unlike when she first arrived in Avaleur, Namari had dealt with so many people who bugged her that it didn't phase her now.
"Well Namari, the key is to treat everybody like an equal. Hell, we all got imprisoned because we fought to keep all the other races free. Including the HIgh Elves." Hash said with an eyebrow raised. Roe sighed.
"Trust me. He'll drive you nuts if you hang around him too much at first." Roe said with a chuckle.

"Not all high elves are bad, just ignorant and self-loving. If only you'd know how horrible they can be, though, how high they think themselves and their people," she shook her head. It still bugged her to think about her father murdering her fiancee. She hoped to never see the man again.
"He doesn't seem bad at all though," Namari smiled at Roe, at his comment about Hash.
"Well, we asked for help so that there was a greater chance they would survive rather than if we fought alone. They denied us even that, an offer to save their lives, because they didn't want to get their hands dirty fighting alongside us. Maybe they've gotten less nasty, but they were horrid back then. Absolutely terrible people." Hash said with a spitting tone.
Roe chuckled. "He's just tired. I once listened to him ramble about socks for an hour one time." He said. Hash laughed.
"I remember that! My blue ones that were really soft until I accidentally lit them on fire. Man, now I want those back. Hey Roe, can I get another pair of those? Please?" he was going to say more but Roe flicked his forehead like he always had. Hash was one year older than him. Er, he had been, so they were childhood friends.

Namari smiled, holding in a laugh. She found it quite funny, and yet adorable at the same time. Him talking about socks for an hour straight.
"Feel free to badmouth them, no worries, I'm not offended. I just wish my people, and especially my ancestors were kinder to their brethren," she shook her head in pity.
Maybe she should have stayed in Fidelite, Become Queen there, and make it better for her brethren. Alas, her place was here. Who would have started the knights? Who would start the tournament? Sure, maybe somebody eventually, but that wasn't the point really.
The point was that in this life she chose to run away and go to Avaleur. It was her home, it was where she would stay. Her sister would look after Bataille. She might not be as strong, or as wise as her older sister, but the girl cared for everything. Namari was a bit relieved her sister would be a good ruler when the day came.
"It ain't badmouthing it's the truth." Hash stated simply.
"Well Namari, not every race is perfect. We're known for being the warrior race and being absolutely ruthless. Most of us are, just look at my father. Well, after this I don't think we'll want to fight again anytime soon but still. The Lythari are shunned anyways, what with becoming wolves when they choose to." Roe said, trying to remember a history on the various elvish clans and nations.

"It seems any beings that can change into wolves, or wolf like creatures nowadays are shunned in general," the Queen pursed her lips. Why nobody could get along baffled her. She had no problems with the werewolves. No problems with the Lythari. No problems with half elves. And yet those people were shunned in many different areas. Werewolves were hated in Avaleur, half elves were hated in Bataille, and Lythari were hated by many races of elf.
"Being really do puzzle me in the sense that we should all work together. every race is good and bad in its own way, like you said," Namari sighed.
