Devan roamed the alleys not in any way a happy mood. He had been scolded mercilessly by the higher ups. Evidently it was his fault Rio had been so unstable and cost the organization valued 'customers'.
He raised his masked face into the air, and cursed loudly into the air. Now he had to find another person to fill her place, and not only that but to better fill her place. Devan shook his head, "Shit... This'll be tough."
Avaleur was such a strange town. So many different smells from the various races. So many different moods, so much happiness and yet so much sorrow. Maureth felt his way around the dark alleys that nobody went into, using four of his five senses to navigate the narrow spaces. That's when he felt the man. He was two turns down to his right, down ten yards and directly to the left. Not that far. Maureth stepped lightly, managing to sneak past a mouse, and got to the corner where the man was.
"Shit... This'll be tough." He said to nobody in particular. Maureth smiled, then knocked on the wall of the building next to him. It was old, and nobody had been there for a long time it seemed.
Devan looked out of the corner of his eye. And noticed the man. For a moment he acted as though he hadn't heard the knock but just as on would think to knock again, he quickly spun around and threw his chained scyth into the building. It was just to the right of the mans face.
Devan was already pissed, "What?! Are you snooping around or what do you want huh?!"
The throw was a bit off center and more wild than one would think an expert user would have thrown. This man let his anger get ahold of him and his fighting style. Maureth quickly noted this about the man, then touched the scythe blade that was stuck in the building. It was attached to a chain. With a smile, Maureth put his right foot in front of the chain, then brought it back and jumped into the air while doing a barrel roll. The chain wrapped around his leg, tearing the scythe out of the building.
"It's not nice to attack somebody for no reason. You should only kill those who deserve it." He said, avoiding the man's questions entirely. His eyes were much stronger than they had been, so this chain wasn't going anywhere despite the man in front of him being almost seven feet tall. "So who do you want to kill?" He asked, bemused at the man who was obviously flustered over something.

Devan laughed, the man was stupid. "I am not goin to kill anyone, and who decides who deserves to die anyway? You?!" he smirked, "I know what you are thinking already, but stop thinking it." Devan wasn't at all worried of impressed. "You can go now.."
"I will go when I want to. And everybody has one person, or thing, that they want to kill. I have yet to meet an exception to that." Maureth said, smiling. He pulled his leg back hard, drawing the chain back quickly and powerfully. If the man was strong he wouldn't be pulled off of his feet. If.
The chain pull hadn't surprised him in the slightest, in fact he had hoped for it. He let the a protion of the chain slide through his hand. Once it had enough slack he grabbed tight and swung it around, wrapping it around the other leg of the man. He pulled the chain back to snap his legs together. "Well than you met the exception, I don't have any single person I want to kill."
Maureth felt the chains tighten, but he held his ground firmly as the chains strained against his power. "Then you must have someTHING you wish to kill, like me." He said. Then he moved his headband up to reveal his other eye. His power went from three times greater to about seven. He grabbed the chain calmly in both hands, and pulled the chain. Then he yanked as hard as he could. This should at least make the large man move towards Maureth a bit.
Devan did the same as last, letting the chain move through his hands before spinning it again. This time tangling the man's hands up as well. Because he had let slack form in the chain the pull was irelivent. Devan pulled again, this time with two hands to force the victim into a curled up position. "Like I said, I have no single thing that I wish death upon. I have no structure, this is my structure." under his mask he smiled. Then he got the thought.
Devan, although he had this man completely tangled and at his disposal if he wished, let go of the chain to free him. "Run along now..."
The chains had curled Maureth a bit, but he eventually straightened himself out. Then the man let the chains go for some reason. Then, he opened his inner barriers and his power soared. The red aura surrounded him again like it does when unrestrained. "We are going to talk." He said calmly. "Should you attack me again, I will make sure you choke on your own chains." He stated even more evenly. Then he held his hands up, and the influx of power summoned his Demon Claws. They fit on his hands like gauntlets, and then fire erupted around the claws. He immediately felt the weight increase though, but it wouldn't effect him as much.
"The one I wish to kill is immortal. I will tear his heart off and rip his head off. He slaughtered my family in front of my eyes, with help from his lackeys. Fanza, the God of Death and Destruction." He said with a sour tone in his voice.
Devan erupted into a wild and crazy fit of laughter. It seemed as though luck was still on his side. Rio bites the dust and just like the motto goes, someone far stronger replaces her 'head' in the hydra.
"There is no such thing as immortal, my friend." devan was able to say after he calmed down. "It is just an idea, something similar to the idea of infinity." he shook his head still in disbelief, "It would seem we both got lucky tonight."
Devan finished pulling in his chains. "I may be able to help you with this task you have set before you."
Maureth frowned. He didn't trust this man. He went from killing mode to diplomacy mode in a few minutes, it was unnatural. "Ideas are what drives evolution." He responded. Maureth cautiously let his guard down, then dispersed his power a bit. "Why would you help me?"
"Per say, but the idea is also what fuels its self destructive nature." he smiled under his mask, he made the man feel uncomfortable. "And I will help you because it will be helping me."
Devan fumbled around in his pocket and got out a coin. On it held the crest of the black hydra. He extended it, offering it to Maureth, "My name is Devan. We kill gods, you wish to kill gods. We are one in the same. Join us, open your eyes to new and unfathomable opportunities."
Devan laughed loudly, "You want to see a body?! There isn't much of that left when we are finished my friend. You would have had better luck asking me to find a note tucked in one of the books within the library." he calmed down and held out the coin, "Take it, let your testing begin. Join us, if you want proof, it is within me and all over me. Look at my scar covered body, they all tell a story."
"Testing? For what? I intend to do no such thing if I am to join any kind of whatever this is." Maureth said. On a good day, Maureth could have killed this man with ease. But today, his eyes decided to not give him as much power as he would've liked.
Devan snickered, "Why?! It's called a process. Something any good thing must have. If you don't wish to be tested, you, like I said before, can leave."
